The Samsung Galaxy Note 9 is THE argument about the headphone jack. It had a headphone jack, SIM/SD card slot, giant hole for the S Pen, the charging port, and it was IP68 water resistant, and guess what, it's thin. People are still using them now, if you install Noble ROM you can get the official firmware from a much newer phone and have the latest up to date Android with no loss of features. Simply one of the best phones of all time.
Ran one as my daily for 5 years and then upgraded to the note 10 and never did I think i was gonna miss a headphone jack that much. I agree with you it was feature packed and amazing. Wish i could go back but i cant.
@@psychatnight I thought that too when I finally let my S10+ go, which did me from release day until the S23 Ultra, but I've grown used to it now. I didn't want to upgrade and lose the jack but they were giving away Galaxy Buds, then they doubled the storage for free for preorders, which made the SD card issue moot. I love this phone but I'm really gonna miss the Note 9 and S10+ era :(
Did you know Samsung still makes a rugged midrange with a removable back, splash protection, dual SIMs, micro SD card, type C, and a headphone jack? They only sell it through the enterprise side, but the Galaxy Xcover 6 Pro is exactly the kind of thing the Android ecosystem used to be full of. It's a great phone, too - the earlier one was a little too slow, but the 6 Pro is more than snappy enough.

I had dingus etched into my iPod Touch, when I found out about it thanks to you. It's still my main device, my old android was terrible and this thing makes me happy. :3
The iPhone 5c was my first smart phone, I've since upgraded to newer devices but kept the 5c around. I now use it as a music and podcasts player, it works great and I don't get disturbed by any messages or phonecalls as I have taken the SIM card out. Amazingly, the battery is still good and it has a headphone jack!
I still have my red 256 gig iPod touch I lovingly named little red nug. Two weeks after I ordered mine they got discontinued. Got all my music downloaded on it and more importantly, Delta emulator so I can play GBA and NES games super easily. Have had so many people see it and compliment it
It's extremely hard today to find high end phones that come with a 3.5mm headphone jack besides gaming phones. The only brands I found that offer this option is Sony and Asus. I ended up buying a Sony Xperia 1 MK 5 few months ago, and besides having a headphone jack, it also has expandable storage (up to 1TB). I found it ridiculous that other companies don't offer such useful features especially if you're paying over 800$ on a phone. Sadly, you'd often only find these features on budget phones these days.
Missing that they're the only ones with top level silicon and a headphone jack. Most entry level phones still have it, but using their Unisoc or Mediatek chipsets can be an exercise in frustration. Midrangers are moving towards no Jack as they see that people are willing to pay for a pair of whatever wireless buds that company makes. Sony and Asus and i think some gaming phones are the last to hold out for Jack. Thank god the PC industry is too disorganized to do it. Except for Dell of course.
I had the exact same problem with my 7th gen Touch earlier this year; using it for even just a few hours would absolutely eat the battery. My new daily driver music player is an unlocked 8 Plus with double my current phone's storage

I use it every day and have to admit it is getting pretty slow. ios 15.8 it wont even run the youtube app anymore. i mainly use it for music, podcasts and the occasional downloaded movie apple products are a novel when they work but are a pain when they don’t 😪

The difference between 48khz stereo analog and Bluetooth AAC 44.1Khz is HUGE. The Bluetooth AAC even in a concrete box would still sound like FM radio compared to a true 48khz analog setup. Once you have tested the full range of audio through a pair of Sennheisers there is no going back to BT.
