how dumb is it to run Tiger roll in that race...!? so the horse hacks up in two competitive hcaps at the course obviously outrageously well handicapped, finally gets a reasonable handicap mark and the owner gets a strop on. its like getting to shag the bird of your dreams and complaining because the lights are on.
Well said Scott could not believe the odds were 13-2 should have been at least 25-1 i myself backed the match bet native river to beat tiger roll at 4-5 had a few quid on
He only just won his first national so he probably had a pretty spot on handicap then to be honest. His second win he was just having the season of his life right in his prime, G1 hurdle, National Hunt at Cheltenham, and then romped home in the National, (can't handicap a horse that is in that kind of form without going into really ridiculous weights). I agree it was stupid to pull him out of this year's national, but the real reason he done it was because he didn't think the horse would be in the form he was in especially to carry top weight. But alas he was in fine form in the end, i.e. romping home in the national hunt again. All of this nonsense since then, is just the tool O' Leary trying to save face by blaming his bad decisions on others. In any event, Tiger Roll is one of the best horses of recent times, with a legendary Cheltenham and Grand National record/career. I mean he came fourth today in his first competitive Grade 1 3m chase in years, competing against horses that have won and placed well in Gold Cups and King Georges and other G1s, so that is still nothing to be too ashamed of at all either I suppose. But I also wouldn't be surprised if today's race was a con really too, and the jockey was told not to push him if he in any way started to fall off/get a bit lazy out there.
@@theMull90 Agree with you and putting tiger roll in that race today was awful decision, they were happy to let him run in to days race when we knew he would struggle against speed horses, instead of waiting 48 hours to have go at the national, another case of o'leary spitting the dummy out
