I've spent a couple of days fishing with Pete. He runs a great operation and is not only a master at his craft but is also a great hang. I highly recommend you book a trip with him! Ill definitely be back!
Watching this video brings back a lot of fun memories. When I coal mining in Montana I would fish that river around 100 days a year. Wish I was still there
That opening scene. Trout porpoising. Saw that on the Bighorn during a Trico spinner fall. 3 wt. rod. It's hard to but gotta hesitate a bit to set the hook. One of the most memorable fishing days of my life.
Rowing the boat one spring, there were almost no olives on the water. Then I saw a pod of fish feeding near the bank. Parked the boat and three of us got out to fish. There was only room for one person to cast, so we took turns. Five casts and then you had to give way to the next guy. We all caught fish. Then Ray was tying on a new fly when he knotted the leader around a bump on his tongue. Unable to speak clearly, we all started laughing so hard that we had to quit fishing until we managed to get Ray's tongue untied.
How can I reconcile my desire to identify as a fish with my career in customer service, considering the potential negative impact on my professional image? As someone experienced in the ways of the sea, what guidance can you offer?
@@brooktroutangler5917Good Question. if we are able to utilize different endemic fly fishing companies, in our content, we can give exposure to all the kids in the sandbox! This week I''m fishing Sage and Douglas rods with loop reels and SA line.
Love them... They are durable and super comfortable. The back support is a game changer in the waders. The jacket is stellar and has held up to all weather this season - from torrential downpours in the Sub Arctic to snowstorms in Chile..
I don’t understand the whitefish hate. A native indicator species. Just unhook them and release them like normal, no need to toss them back and do whitefish backflips.
I'll just buy a boat and haul up there from my house in Tijuana on the back of my road bike... I agree with the rod though as you don't need a high end rod, but if you could afford it, wouldn't you do it? i fish what I could afford and catch more fish than my friends with expensive setups but I'm pretty sure if I could afford it I would have a rack of expensive fly rods and a ridiculous amount of tackle boxes😂
You don’t need a caddy to play golf. You don’t need $1500 driver. But you probably couldn’t afford the fee to play. Just have fun never getting better. 😂
You do realize what channel you are watching, right? They promote fly shops and are sponsored by orvis. You think they are just gonna go out there and rough it and fish with $100 rods? They are showcasing the areas and products. Grow up
The Bighorn videos are my favorite. Pete is the man! Great job.
Mark you are truly a lucky man to be able to experience all of this. Thank you for taking us along with you on all your journeys.
Great to see Pete in action. He knows his stuff! As always a very done video. Thanks Mark.
Was great to see a local and a lady that kills it. Great watch as always!!!

Thanks Bob! Let’s fish again!

George is the best guide ever
Great episode, guys! Pete seems like a super cool cat.
Just started this video and I am already inspired to go

Montana is an amazing place.
Used to be before California took it over.
@@jts9120Word is CA is a shithole now
Beautiful cinematography
Lovely 😊
Amazing footage.. love the rises in the beginning
I usually hate videos that blast my local waters but this was well done and informative. Blast the big rivers leave the small stuff alone.

I’ll be there in a couple weeks. Haven’t fished the bighorn for almost 14 years.

switched over to Sage?
We work with all rod companies as of 2023. This season we are shooting shows using: Orvis, Scott, Sage, Douglas, Hardy, RL Winston and more!
@@newflyfisher why the change?

I didn't quite understand the nymphing rig. Is he putting the first nymph 7.5 feet down from the indicator??
@25falcons, I’ll run from indicator to swivel as a stopping point (w/weight above) about 7.5’. From there, 18-20” to each bug
swapped Orvis for Skwala...how you liking them?

And nary a piece of Orvis gear to be seen.
Are you still friends with Tom?
absolutely!

Mark seems like the typical rich fly fisherman that thinks he is better than everyone like he is a big deal that he is on RUclips
Well it is kind of big deal! 😊
If you need a guide to go fishing. You shouldn't be fishing. I grew up on the Bighorn. And you don't need a $1500 fly rod to catch fish
But if you can, why not?

It's not a guide I need it's a drinking buddy I could use
