Purple Heron - 2023

Purple Heron @ Summer Leys LNR - Recorded 14th June 2023.
Time to get the binoculars out, this rare migrants to the UK, a Purple Heron, looking more like a snake with wings, has been sighted at Summer Leys LNR, Northamptonshire.
This is only the twenty-first record for the county, following the last one, in 2021, which was also present at Summer Leys during late May and early June of that year.
