Hi guys, we hope you enjoyed this video! As budget backpackers we are no stranger to 7-Elevens around Asia but Taiwan has been our favourite so far! Do you have a favourite 7-Eleven snack? Any we missed? Comment down below! 😊
Hello, if there is any chance that you guys would travel again to Taiwan, you can try again the triangle rice ball from the 7-11 or any convenient stores, there is step number on the package, you can just follow that step to tear the wrapper, it’s pretty easy 😉👌
hey! I'm taiwanese and OMG beef noodles are my favourite food. Loving the Taiwan content. Have you tried the new beef noodles in 7 11? Definitely recommend! ( although these aren't instant noodles )
You did really well at 7-11! Hannah actually picked one of Taiwan's most famous exports for dinner - the beef noodles! Hoping you'll get to try some indigenous foods!
Hannah kept going back for the beef noodles, they were so tasty! We really enjoyed the food in Ita Thao village at Sun Moon Lake, the boar sausage was nice!
Just discovered you guys and I'm loving your Taipei content! You have such a chill, low-key, and heartfelt way of presenting things, and your travelling style is so relatable and not at all fake-influencer-y which is very refreshing! Gotta help me out though, I can't place your accents 😋 For a moment I thought Welsh, but now I'm leaning to something Northern, maybe Liverpool?
Thank you so much, it means a lot to us that you enjoyed 🥰 haha yes, we're from Liverpool! Some people guess Irish, Scottish, Welsh... we've heard it all 😂 but you're good at detecting English regional accents!
It's so fun to see y'all so psyched about eating at 7-Eleven; thanks for sharing. Most of those foods from the soups to the pork bun (割包) have real-life versions on the outside that are even better. I ain't never seen nobody eat the skin of a sweet potato before, but whatever floats your boat. 😉
Haha it must be strange for locals to watch…but it’s amazing to us how good the food is from a convenience store! We just don’t have this quality or choice in England so it’s fun discovering it all 😄 We tried plenty of food outside too, it was often much cheaper! We loveddddd beef noodle soup 🍲 hahahaha do you guys not eat the skin? If it’s cooked right it’s the best part!
Just so you know.. There is a little bit different way to make the instant beef noodles from what you did... This is how most of the Taiwanese do it... You open the spice and oil packages then put them in with the noodle...then you put the hot water in.. (normally there is a hot water line inside the bowl in case you put too much water and lose the flavor! maybe around 500ml) anyway then you cover it up! Then you put the meat package on top of the HOT bowl.. using the steam heat through the cover to “reheat” the meat package! Plus you dont have to find something to hold the cover.. normally the cover will pop up and you lose the heat to cook the noodle. (You can check the time on the package.. or between 3-5 mins or 5-10 mins.. depends on the brand of the instant noodles) The reason for most Taiwanese to do this is.. if you put the meat package with the noodles.. you may needed more time to cook the noodles cause of the soup in the meat package is normal temperature! then it will make the HOT water you put in wont be enough to cook the noodles sometimes. PS: we only do this way with the instant noodles has meat package... Anyway.. just a special Taiwanese way to cook the instant beef noodles..
Thank you! 7/11 is a lifesaver for the budget! Japan 7/11 is amazing. In our experience Japan and Taiwan have the best 7/11s. South Korea didn't compare to those!
@@umbertocalvini7429 we just watched some of his videos and if you didn't tell us he was from Liverpool, we wouldn't have known! I think maybe he has spent so much time away from Liverpool his accent has maybe changed a lot! He seems cool though 😁
Ok trivia for you guys: Taiwanese cuisine is particularly notable for that uniquely chewy-squishy-gummy texture, and they call it "QQ". It's why Taiwan is obsessed with things like boba, mochi, and the chewy texture you've enjoyed in the dumpling wrappers. They even cook noodles differently in Taiwan- whereas traditional Chinese noodles (especially soup noodles) tend to be uniformly soft and tender, in Taiwan you're more likely to find noodles that still have a little bit of chew in the center, almost like al dente.
Ahhh, now you say it, a lot of the food does have that kind of texture! I (Jamie) love boba tea and Hannah really likes al dente noodles! We also ate bento boxes on the trains and the Tofu has that kinda chewy squishy texture too, would that also be described as "QQ"?
I reckon I see more Family Mart's with sweet potatoes than Sevens these days, especially the ones I often go by anyway. If you ever return to Taiwan, I will give you a proper food tour of all the good Taiwanese food if you wanted it.
Of course there are, we ate in restaurants too this was just us wanting a little fun with a challenge - after all we do think it’s the best 7/11 in Asia 100%
It's a very small, basic shop just selling soft drinks, alcohol, dry noodles, snacks etc. There is no hot food or anything like that. Definitely no delicious tea eggs! It doesn't compare to Taiwan 7-Eleven unfortunately!

Guys you WILL become obsessed trust us 😂 we regularly talk about how much we miss it!!
That beef ramen is a typical Taiwanese comfort food, perfect for a rainy, cold days in northern Taiwan. Glad you enjoyed it.
The beef ramen is one of our absolute favourites!!! Love it!

FYI: I would take the skin off the sweet potato before eating it, because sometimes the skin can taste a little bit bitter!
Haha thanks for the tip! We tried a few sweet potatoes, sometimes the skin was nice and other times it was too tough!

It really was amazing food!! And thank you! We are from Liverpool! 😁

they have set menu: rice ball and coffee/drink, sandwich and coffee/drink 49 or 59 in total. Please do ask.
Thanks for the tip! 😁 the rice balls and sandwiches are delicious!
Looks amazing! With the food that was microwaved, did they do that for you or did you have to heat it up?
They did it for us but we think it’s because they were trying to be helpful - some people did it themselves ☺️

We saw both selling them but it was definitely hard to find at 7-Eleven some days!! We did try family mart too and it was great 😁
And thanks for that, we'll definitely take you up on that offer when we eventually come back to Taiwan!
茶葉蛋配番茄醬包
番茄醬包店裏有免費包
配一起吃很好吃的不一樣的風味
Thank you! I wish we'd known about this earlier, sounds delicious!
The soda drink you had has the taste of an herb called sarsaparilla
Oh that’s what we could taste, it was really nice we just couldn’t figure out the flavour haha!
In fact, traditional Chinese breakfast will be more economical and fresh and delicious, such as fried buns
Maybe the cheese in the blueberry and cheese sandwich was cream cheese?
It definitely did yes, we did think that 😁
Remember to keep your receipt, it can be like a lottery❤
Interesting! We didn't know about this... do they run competitions?
No, Taiwan will draw a lottery every two months, and the highest prize is 10 million NT🪄
I really enjoy your video trip ☺️
Thank you! 🥰
No longer enjoy the convenient meals like after 15, def knew more about the food and there are more choices for sure.

I'm Taiwanese! The strawberry Lays is kind of weird for me, I think it's hard for me to try it actually~
Interesting! It’s confusing because you expect crisps/chips to savoury but some people enjoy them (Jamie did, haha)
Definitely right!! And it's would be great if Jamie like it 😂😂
Taiwan foods are always cheap and very good foods out there, but especially Seven 11 serves you hot food snd microwave it for you 😂
Haha yes, the food in 7/11 is great and the staff are very helpful! 😊
台灣的7-11那是真的玩出新花樣了,真的是你方便好的鄰居

it's better to peel the sweet potatoes.
