“Pavia is a straight pain in the ass for opposing defenses” made me chuckle the way Homer said it. God willing Texas D can keep him contained and I won’t be getting more grey hairs this weekend .
Pavia is dangerous, that man goes into battle willing to die for his brothers. As a longhorn fan I worry about this he’s been dragging them across the finish line time and time again
@@bjhay2790 the Bama game was largely a byproduct of Sark having the perfect scheme against Saban. Ewers played well but he had little pressure and even some of his big plays were not actually great throws. Both of his long TDs to Worthy and Mitchell were actually sloppy passes to wide open WRs eho both had to awkwardly track the ball and fall down to make catches on off target and excessively floated throws that should have easily dropped in their hands in stride if thrown properly. A better QB would have also won the Washington game. Both of his throws to Mitchell... The ine that made it close and the one at the very end were bad throws. Mitchell saved him on the first.
We better not see any damn two high safety looks when Texas is on defense. All they want to do is eat clock and with Ewers being inconsistent, that can very quickly turn in to a half time where Texas has barely touched the ball. We have elite secondary players, leave them on islands and force Pavia to be a pocket passer or at least stuff the early run so its not third and short over and over.
Well, there was the 222-0 win by Georgia Tech over Cumberland College in 1916, and the Oklahoma 77, Texas A&M 0 in 2003. If I'm a vandy QB I don't want to have to try to beat the Number 1 Defense in college football with my grit, toughness, lack of size advantage or athleticism, or willingness to try to gain 3 yards keeping the ball on each down for an entire game, that sounds like football suicide...A more interesting question than the score is HOW MANY YARDS RUSHING will TEXAS have in the game, and WHO WILL BE TEXAS' LEADING RUSHER. Hook'em!
Problem is that PKs scheme is designed around the bend don't break principles where he never allows big plays over the top but will give up 3-4 yard plays over and over to see if the offense will get greedy and stop their own momentum or force the ball down field. Thats where Texas feasts....problem is Vandy will take the 3-4 yard play 30 times in a row if its there and then as soon as you get overly aggressive they'll try to sneak something deep. So PK needs to come out early and say NOPE...you get nothing...no 3-4 yards a play, if you wanna run you are getting hit at the line.
Problem there is that you would be the only defense in the country to even come close to stopping this Vanderbilt team from moving the ball. And if you want to run the ball, that plays right into their hands. All they have to do is make you take a long time to score, you don't beat this ball control team with ball control. You have to score fast and score a lot to keep up because they will own the ball all game long
@@Bones12x2 Ian Boyd said assign CBs to the WRs and Jelani McDonald to the TE Stowers, keep Taaffe back, and play a simplified assignment football Defense to smother the run. Boyd doesn't think vandy can be effective facing that assignment sound TEXAS Defense. qb is vandy leading rusher, I think that is suicide against TEXAS DEFENSE! I'm not convinced he'll finish the game on the field. I don't buy that TEXAS can't do what Georgia State and Missouri both did, BEAT vandy playing assignment-sound football. I agree, stop vandy on the line of scrimmage or in the backfield, then TEXAS run effectively and score TDs each drive, vandy will get so far behind their clock-eat strategy will keep them from having a chance of winning playing their 2024 formula.
@@beautifulgirl219 makes sense to me. Leave Taafe as a single safety and play man outside. Everyone else plays the run but don't over commit. All it takes is one tackle at or behind the line per drive to throw off their scheme. They don't want to function at 2nd and 10.
@@golfer435 FICTION. Stop vandy scoring and they have zero points. Score every possession TEXAS has and TEXAS CRUISES to VICTORY. Maybe the strangest comment I've seen this season is that vandy is some unbeatable team with magical "possession" football, and the other team possessing the football works AGAINST them. LOL. Thanks for that, I needed a good laugh. Cheers and Hook'em! vandy has TWO losses, one to a SUPREMELY UNTALENTED Georgia State team, one to a decent Missouri team that DOES NOT have the NUMBER ONE RANKED DEFENSE IN THE COUNTRY. I HOPE you know who DOES! Cheers! Even against Georgia TEXAS' defense played very well. Take away two short fields of 15 and 30 yards and Georgia's offense did almost NOTHING against TEXAS DEFENSE.
I'd love to see that result, but I can't see there being enough possessions in the game for us to score 8 touchdowns. I'm happy to be wrong on that, though!
I’m a UT fan but nowhere does it say that Quinn is or was hurt for the past 2 games. Quinn is playing terrible (and that’s probably an understatement). If he is/was hurt the last two games he is one selfish person. Right now he won’t get drafted in the top 5 rounds with his performance and I will be one mad mother if he says he’s coming back next year. When you’re not the top dog you don’t get to make others wait hoping you’ll get better. Saturday is make or break for him this season because no one will allow him to block others with terrible play.
