I remember my mom going out for my 12th birthday party with all my friends. I told her to get “dance or cool” music….she came back with a kids bop cd….and my life was never the same 😧
"I think people enjoy when I lose my mind." Very true. You been making me smile with your videos for over a decade now. Many good laughs during some dark times. Thanks for that. Wow, this was a fun video to watch. Glad you did this. I remember seeing these commercials all the time and thought they were dumb and pointless when you can listen to the original versions. I kinda understand though, I guess it was for kids to join in on and sing together with other kids rather than adults. It's a sort of way to encourage the kids to relate and sing with them. But I still think it's dumb because they're just indoctrinating kids with a lot of inappropriate songs about sex and other stuff they shouldn't be listening to lol. I also looked it up and they're still releasing albums pretty often, the next one being released on January 21st of 2022.
Dude, I remember seeing these commercials so many times as a kid and thought they were so annoying. I couldnt believe people actually bought into these... I even remember listening to some songs that kids bop made into their own, and realized they arent child friendly. Also that part at the beginning with referencing Blade Runner had me laughing.... a death metal version, I'd be interested to listen to from Kids Bop.
You are correct about Kidz Bop being made by Razor & Tie, the same company that made the "Monster" series ("Monsters of Rock", "Monster Ballads", and they even had a "Monster 80's", too, which was mostly the MTV songs and artists of the early to mid 80's). I had volumes 3-5 of Kidz Bop as a kid, but now, I just listen to the original versions of the songs they cover. I do agree with some of the questionable song choices, such as Lady Gaga's "Paparazzi", which is about stalkers. It'd go way over a child's head to even understand what stalkers are! P.S. In response to your question at 8:36, that song is Michelle Branch's "All You Wanted".
@@ramboraph4lifeSo far as from 2019 there has been 40 Kidz Bop Albums according to Wikipedia how and why They are that popular is something that I will never understand.
I never got these CD's. I thought they were dumb. Plus back then I just wanted the actual songs. Also, I did hear a Kidz Bop CD somewhere and some of the songs had their lyrics changed to be more kid friendly. I want to say I heard the Kidz Bop CD during a Halloween carnival at the elementary school I went to (when my younger sister or adopted brother were still in elementary), or maybe I was standing near a kid ride at the fair (waiting on food or I was waiting in a line for another ride that was close to a kid ride). Another possible option was I was at a restaurant the same time a kid's b-day party was happening and the parents had music playing. But yeah. These CD's/albums altered the lyrics to be more kid friendly. That's probably why the songs were allowed on the album. I'm so glad that by the time these CD's start releasing, I was in the second half of elementary or in junior high, so my parents allowed me to listen to the original songs and not these childish versions.
My younger cousin brought Kidz Bop 26 from a library once and I had to remind him I used to love Kidz Bop when I was younger. He’s starting high school this year.
16:09 apparently most dancers werent singers or if they were, they mostly the background singers. i remember seeing a youtuber who said he was a dancer for Kidz Bop 11 - Kidz Bop 23 (with proof) and he was a backgroumd singer on Kidz 18 - Kidz Bop 21 and that sets would take 10-14 hours to record or film. in the early era (2001-09) lots of background dancers stayed and could be seen up to music videos in 2012. also in the Early Era the only named/identified KidzBop Kids were ones who became famous when they got older, Not even the adult singers.
Kidz Bop is an Album were they take Famous Songs and Censor/Change the Lyrics that we’re originally targeted towards more a mature audience (A.K.A Make them Kid Friendly) so that kids can sing some songs we’re originally made for an older audience, but targeted towards kids. Even though Kids are going to find the original song with the original lyrics on the internet anyways, instead of listening to the Kidz Bop version. Basically they ruin these songs by changing the lyrics and make kids sing these songs.
I actually had like 2 Kidz Bop albums that they were giving away with McDonald's Happy Meals back in 2009. I still have them in my basement. I don't know if I listened to them though.
Having watched Mues's reviews of some of the current Kidz Bop albums, yeah...these are a mess. Sometimes it makes no sense to have these versions especially if clean versions of some raunchy/dirty songs actually are played on the radio and sometimes the substitutes for what sounds like sexual words don't add up either. They're basically the equivalent of Radio Disney replaying the songs. and they've done covers of songs that are allegories for addiction or depressing issues, I mean they used two Evanesence songs (Bring Me to Life and My Immortal, might I add Amy Lee wrote that song after a breakup she had). And in some of the latest ones, yeaaaaah...Katy Perry did Roar probably after her breakup with Russell Brand. The song you're thinking is 'All You Wanted' by Michelle Branch. Also there at least 20 or more of them. It's like if they did You Can't Always Get What You What, it's NOT a song about getting what you want, it's a death song. That would be like if I played Take Me To The River to pay tribute to victims of drowning.
California Gurls from Kidz Bop 18 was in my nonprofit program’s burned CD, they would play it for someone ages 5 to 22 years old with disabilities who’s performing in front of an audience almost every weekend for about a year.
Ummm, it is fair that some of the songs in the first 5 years to the 44th album are not blissful and are bland the taste of a parent who wanted to listen it on the stereo, the kidz bop is absolutely worthless through the years in 21 years in making...

I feel your pain! If it's any consolation I had to watch all of them in order to make sure the list was accurate. You can tell they kind of gave up on being creative after the 13th commercial. "Alright, let's use green screen 2 more times and after that we'll just use real location's from here on out". I can admire the good intentions they may have initially had but honestly it's probably done more harm than good. Because of this technological advanced age we live in, kids can listen to the kid's bop rendition of a song and then look up the original version online themselves after the initial exposure, thus negating the purpose of the album's existence.
