Custom Painting $15,000 Birkin Bag

- I recently custom painted a Hermes Birkin Bag for one of my favorite patrons. I used acrylic paints to get the job done. Here is a link to the paints I used.
To prepare the painted area, I used Angelus Leather Preparer:

For the rest of the painting duties, I used Nova Color Acrylics:

And as always, for my brushes, I used my favorite Trekell Art Supplies:

Always exciting to watch you paint! I love my Trekell brushes!!!! Thanks for the recommendation. I wondered what size you were using for the filigree on the clock. I'm struggling getting this fine detail. Maybe my paint isn't fluid enough?

Greg... You're worried you're going to ruin the bag? Not possible dude! If this woman uses this bag as a purse she's insane! As with all your work, it deserves to be framed and hung on the wall! Absolutely incredible work Greg! As I've said before... Michelangelo, DaVinci, Dali all strived to be as talented as you but none of them quite made it. You are, without a doubt, the best!
Arguable far more people would have the opportunity to see and appreciate the art if she wore it rather than framing and hanging it on a wall.

Do u use a gold paint for your watches or do u mix a color and if so do mine giving a idea on them I have trouble getting a gold color I’m satisfied with

Thanks and yes, I used a satin acrylic varnish to lock it all in place:)

The bag turned out beautifully. Was it more difficult painting on the leather and did you seal it when it was done.
Thanks! It was definitely harder painting on that surface and yes, I painted a satin varnish over the painted areas

Can I use angelous color instead of nova since it's not available in my area? Also don't we need to topcoat the paint?
Yup, probably any acrylic will work after it's prepped. And yes, a final varnish coat is a must. I believe I did 3 coats of varnish on this one

Greg do you know if the paints and brushes can be bought in the Uk? Struggling to purchase.
I’m pretty sure the brushes sell throughout the world. I’m not sure about the paint. You should check out golden acrylic paints. I’m pretty sure they carry them in the UK. I suggest using the fluid version of the brand. It comes in heavy body and fluid.

Sure that kind of bag is a peace of art, made by a bunch of talented small hands. But once a famous name is added to it it's awesome...? As the f******* awesome painter you are,I hope that kind of commission is worth the bank account for you, but really don't have any interrest for us , it's a private project after all

The surface on these bags is surprisingly challenging. It was a fun piece though. I don’t know who Alec is but I’m sure he had to deal with the surface too😀

You really should paint more on bags. No kidding! We have a celebrity here in the Philippines WHO paint bags. Here name is Heart Evangelista. Rich people Will pay her alot of money Just to paint there Hermes bags Just because she is a celebritt. But honestly her paintings aren’t really worth the amount the people pay her to paint there bags. I would rather have you paint my bag if than her. But of course I a.m not rich and have no hermes bag.
