Are you going to cover one off tasks or tasks that don't belong to a project. Such as things that relate to the home etc. Also dates and reminders for deadlines.
I think you're doing an absolutely incredible job. No matter how many "aesthetic" notion setups in see on RUclips, i always get drawn to the minimal look you established. It is the only thing that is making me stay and keeps me on track, doesn't get me started on customising my pages in a million different ways. Keep it up, your templates have been incredibly helpful for me. The finance tracker and the PARA system were tremendous. Keep'em coming champ!❤
I was listening to the second brain audio book about 1-2 months ago. This video helped me a lot setting everything up since I was not using Notion before. What I was noticing though was that I needed an entity smaller than "projects" for all the little things I wanted to keep track of. So I created a new page "tasks" that relates to a project just the way a project does to area. Each task has a status as well (just as the projects). Also I added a filtered view of my tasks to the project page, so I can see what things are to do for each project individually. Now I can keep track of everything more granularly. Helps me a lot.
That sounds ike what I would need, given how I think. Not sure I understand the last part, but then again, I am evaluating Notion. I have not set anything up yet.
To archive all the projects of the area that is archived: 1) In projects go to properties and choose "Rollup" 2) In the drop down of Rollup - In Relation - Choose "Areas" 3) In Property - Choose "Archived" 4) Set Calculate as- "Checked" 5) Choose any form to show, switch off the show number option and hide the property in view. 6) Now, In projects, add a filter - rollup - assign value 0. Done.. Make these changes in archive folder too Add an advanced filter to the projects section in Archive Page where the filter has both Archive set as "Checked" OR Rollup set as "1".
This is easily the most helpful Notion + PARA Method video I've ever seen. Actually just Notion even, because I'm new at it and learned so much about how it works and what we can do. I've been watching Notion videos for months and never have I felt this good after setting it up using a video tutorial. Thank you so much!
This is a great introduction to help me start building my SB in Notion. I was finding Notion a bit overwhelming but this has provided a solid starting point 👍
A very helpful video. Looking forward to more parts. Tiago Forte's Building a Second Brain came out last year and is fantastic. 'The PARA Method', his next book is released mid March 2023. If you have proof of purchase you get access to a Q&A. The BASB book comes with a 3hr Masterclass with proof of purchase, detailed in various BASB email subscriptions.
Why so many PARA implementation in Notion treat Areas as a categorization for Projects. But Projects and Areas serve different roles. Areas, unlike Projects, is a section for non-time-sensitive, or long-term, or life-long goals, activities, etc. For example, Travel Bucketlists (non time sensitive), Finance Tracker (lifelong routines), etc. If you want to add a categorization, just make a different database independent from Areas or you can use Archive instead so you can search files in Archive section per category, like Study, Personal, Business, etc.
Looks a lot like KIS to me (Keep it simple). Great setup and video! love the simplicity and 'low' maintenance, my previous setup was so cluttering and big.
Nice video, with elegant way of organizing a work. The problem is that it has little relation to Forte's ideas. In Forte the Project, Areas and Resources are not related to each other - they are actually separate. The ideas may be inspired by PARA-logic but they are not follow the approach at all.
Someone can say me why when I click with the right button on some properties in the templates, it doesn't show me "Show as", with its "as property/as page section/Minimal"? Thanks!
One of the things I love about Notion is the easy access navigational pane on the left. Once I convert pages to database entries, I can no longer see them on the left. Is there a way to solve that?
Nice templates. Learning a lot. And really good TTS voice on the YT Channel. It almost had me. I'm sure Google allowed it to get monetized. Which voice platform are you using Murf?
Hey Easlo, great video, very informative and enlightening, felt positive as what I was doing on my template reflected what was on yours. So thank you. However, can you please slow down mate. My days.
really like your setup, but may I ask why do you have like a second brain inside a second brain? Shouldn't the dashboard you created in the video serve as your primary interface?
I have a question. Is it possible to make timeline view work by using start and end dates, like you did? because I use it fairly actively and wondered if this will align with the proposed system
when I go to create a new template on areas, all the projects are paste in the new template. I've watched this video 4x and can't figure out what I am doing wrong here. I am assuming there is a step you've shared here because I wached many many times and I can't create a new project without the old projects attached to it.
Hi Easlo. Thanks for a great video In this method, when you make a project an Archive, all it's resources remain in the resources list and doesn't get archived automatically with the project. Is there a way to make it so when you archive a project, all it's resources gets archived as well?
Very good coverage of the key points and areas, but it is all so very monotone, no real pacing to the delivery, and more than a little depressed sounding (and looking-- what's with all the grey?). I assume the monotone audio is some basic auto generated speech, but there are options. I get that you are trying to convey the info "efficiently", but like everything in life, it is not just what we say, but how we say it, and very often how we setup and reinforce it. Color, pacing and enthusiasm all help most people learn-- and maybe more importantly, remember.
Thanks for this! Just wondering, for writing notes, do you write them directly in the page for each Area/Project? I think I'll just create a Notes database and link it to Area/Project (just like you did with Resources)
Hi Easlo! I’ve got a question regarding the archiving function: when I mark any resource as “Archived”, it doesn’t disappear from any related project/area. I understand that feature solely works on filtering by checked/unchecked, but is there any way to implement filtering option to a relation so the archived resources won’t show up in projects or areas?
Hi there. I have two things to ask: 1. How did you record the on-screen video, any tool or software? 2. What exactly is PARA, any insight you can give to us? Thanks. Btw awesome video 👍
Thank you Easlo for this video! I need to ask for a bit of help tho :( when creating the rollup property in the Areas database, my items don't seem to have a clickable relation to apply to the rollup property, any idea what could be causing trouble?
I honestly cannot understand how a tutorial maker would think that it's a good idea to fasten its screen. What were you thinking, mate, 'if I hide the most important part of the process it would be easier for them'?
this is an extremely useful video, and it could be greatly improved by not speeding up the video quite as much. It's too fast to follow what your doing without stopping and going back over it several times because the video has been sped up too much.
I suggest speeding up the AI voice even more and the presentation style for increased comprehension and ability for us to follow along.... ;) Frankly its nearly impossible to gather the flow especially towards the archive part...
This is not the proper Para Method. Projects are for things that have a start and end date Example: Client proposal. Each project is eventually closed and archived. Areas are for things that are ongoing and are almost never closed and archived. Example: Bill Payments
Like for Part 2 :)
SUPER EXCITED FOR PART 2!!
THANK YOU!!! EVERY TIME I WATCH ONE OF YOUR VIDEO'S I LEARN SOMETHNG NEW AND GAIN CLARITY ON THINGS I HAVE BEEN STRUGGLING WITH.
Are you going to cover one off tasks or tasks that don't belong to a project. Such as things that relate to the home etc. Also dates and reminders for deadlines.
Waiting for Part 2 :)
Waiting for part 2 as well
Man, I gotta tell you. You have the best no-bullshit Notion content on RUclips. The best.
it’s because it’s made by Notion with an AI 😂
it is great tho
THE BEST

Finally!!! A video that i don’t have to speed to 2x ❤ THANK YOU SO MUCH
You are a life saver! I love the simple, yet tremendously useful setup without complicated stuff like a task manager. Thanks :)
Glad to hear it! You’re welcome!
Awesomeee🤩 video!! Waiting for part 2! Thanks
Thank you so much for sharing this! I finally understand how to work it all out in Notion!
Good video!! you should make a longer video but slow and in-depth on each step
Easy to follow along and great tips when I changed playback speed to 0.75 :)
Thank you! this is the best video yet. Allthough a little bit to fast for me because i'm not used to work with notion. But I managed luckily!

awesome video, Easlo! Congrats! Waiting for part 2! :)
Glad you liked it!
THE BEST PARA TUTORIAL
This was great, thank you! One downside I see is that when you archive a project, it will still be shown in the progress indicator of Areas.
This is mindblowing 🤯
THANKS FOR THE TIPS! But it is quite fast to follow by.
Looks a lot like KIS to me (Keep it simple). Great setup and video! love the simplicity and 'low' maintenance, my previous setup was so cluttering and big.

I confirm. Tiago does not put projects into areas.
For the date, I believe you can use one column and have the end time property included, instead of having two separate columns. Correct?
Someone can say me why when I click with the right button on some properties in the templates, it doesn't show me "Show as", with its "as property/as page section/Minimal"? Thanks!
Looks clean and convenient
Part 2 Pleaseeeeeee!!! I need That!
Thanks for this! Helped so much. You should do a video about a simple but effective note taking/management system
One of the things I love about Notion is the easy access navigational pane on the left. Once I convert pages to database entries, I can no longer see them on the left. Is there a way to solve that?
I liked your Notion minimalist approach when you greyed out all the icons & multi-select.
Nice templates. Learning a lot. And really good TTS voice on the YT Channel. It almost had me. I'm sure Google allowed it to get monetized. Which voice platform are you using Murf?
A very helpful video. Thank you.
Looking forward to part2
How do you get those icons? they look sooo clean??
I am not the commenting type but this video was too good not to like, subscribe AND COMMENT! Thank you!
Hey Easlo, great video, very informative and enlightening, felt positive as what I was doing on my template reflected what was on yours. So thank you.
However, can you please slow down mate. My days.
thank you! it helps so much!
really like your setup, but may I ask why do you have like a second brain inside a second brain? Shouldn't the dashboard you created in the video serve as your primary interface?
It looks great, I have to play it a 0.5 speed only :3
So, why the URL plus the File & Media properties? Ain't they basically for the same thing?
📆Why not use a single date property and select "end date" within that property❓ Instead of having "start" and "end"❓
I have a question. Is it possible to make timeline view work by using start and end dates, like you did? because I use it fairly actively and wondered if this will align with the proposed system
Literally no bullshit, thank you

you don't need to delete the tags property I think to switch the view to gallery
Hi Easlo. Thanks for a great video
In this method, when you make a project an Archive, all it's resources remain in the resources list and doesn't get archived automatically with the project. Is there a way to make it so when you archive a project, all it's resources gets archived as well?
notion = to complicate simple things in the best way possible
Why not just add Archive as a status option?:) one less property to maintain (they can rack up pretty fast)
Great vid, felt some of the steps were a bit fast so had to slow the vid down but good job
Noted on that, thanks for supporting the video!

Can anyone send me this template
The whole idea of the Archive is having dates. Like you set up, I don’t think we’re able to add the date unless we set up a date property.
Hi there. I have two things to ask:
1. How did you record the on-screen video, any tool or software?
2. What exactly is PARA, any insight you can give to us?
Thanks. Btw awesome video 👍
you should check tiago forte's website, he has a thorough and free series of articles explaini the PARA method.
@@soundenglishar Thanks
@@theaccountantguy what did he say i cant see the response
I use CleanShotX, and you can look up PARA by Tiago Forte on Google.
@@easlo Thanks but this is for MacOS any recommendations for windows?
Thank you Easlo for this video! I need to ask for a bit of help tho :( when creating the rollup property in the Areas database, my items don't seem to have a clickable relation to apply to the rollup property, any idea what could be causing trouble?
Nevermind, I had forgotten to enable the relationship on both ways.
Glad to hear it’s resolved, let me know again if anything!
could you do the step of creating a new template and not showing the old items from the project template attached to "new area"/ "new project"?
I honestly cannot understand how a tutorial maker would think that it's a good idea to fasten its screen. What were you thinking, mate, 'if I hide the most important part of the process it would be easier for them'?

It took me 2 hrs trying to pause your video along the way as it was too fast. Good content. I created it, but it was to fast
this video is only 8 minutes, but it took me 2 hours to make the same template
U r amazing
too fast for me, but great content, tnx!
Great info. I disliked the text to sound used. And you were fast in the video clicking stuff.
I had to slow the video down to .25 at times to catch what was happening
Is there .15x speed available? 😂
3:04
You’re too fast on the video.
Watch in .5x speed
Nahh ur just slow
Not me watching it in 2x speed so I can cram the information for later when I have time to do this
Video has 8 minutos but it takes one hour to understand all steps. Going back and foward so many times. :-/
For new people this is super fast.
why ur template is so costly
I suggest speeding up the AI voice even more and the presentation style for increased comprehension and ability for us to follow along.... ;) Frankly its nearly impossible to gather the flow especially towards the archive part...
great bro , but can you do it faster you'r slow!
poor text to voice
Very poor. I had trouble following.
Bro you doing it faster than Usain Bolt could Sprint. So please, slower im a learner
Can no one speak for themselves these days? What's with the robot voices everywhere suddenly?
For the mother of God, slow down man!
Is this a joke? How are you suppose to follow what’s being done here?
This is not the proper Para Method.
Projects are for things that have a start and end date Example: Client proposal. Each project is eventually closed and archived.
Areas are for things that are ongoing and are almost never closed and archived. Example: Bill Payments
This is Awesome Video Really Awesome! Thank You @esalo!
