    This guy is 100% correct about not getting emotional... My interview was practically an interrogation. At the time it seemed like they were being very forceful/condescending/sarcastic with their questioning and challenged every single one of my answers. I just kept my cool and answered each question honestly and in the end it worked out and i got the job

    As someone who works in this area, this advice is useful, but very general and applicable to hiring and personnel selection in a multitude of positions, not only a law enforcement officer. Of course, be sharp, dress clean and professional, do not get defensive. Viewers should note the presenter only spoke to NY state, county and city laws and regulations. These can and do vary from your State and city.

    Spot on! He is absolutely correct! One thing I may add tho. Keep your answers short and to the point. Just say yes or no. Nothing in between. They may try to twist your words around. And most importantly, be yourself! That’s how I passed.

    Had my oral board interview a couple weeks ago
    Just finished my second phase with chief and assistant chief, Had my background done yesterday. On to the next step
    This man’s advice is legit. Don’t let them intimidate you. Be honest about every question but only give necessary short to the point answers. Walk in with the best attire you have or can afford and be yourself. Once you pass the oral board and then the second interview, you’re chances are looking great

      A lot of personal questions. Don't say anymore than you need to. Overall, the best advice i can give someone on the matter, is to be honest on your written and oral. I didn't pass for trying to solve the written portion. I'm quite confident in myself though, i will eventually try again and not make the same mistakes. Hope this helped, and i wish you the best.

    What should I say if they ask me why I had or if I ever had chronic fatigue because I did but I also had some medical issues going but don’t know the root cause for the fatigue. Possibly bad sleep habits, but it happened after I got the Covid vaccine and then I got pancreatitis 4 months after, and then surgery on my deviated septum. If the psychologist says something to try and provoke you what is the proper response? Do we just sit there in silence and take it? If they are accusing you of lying can we ask if they can be specific? Would that be considered overly emotional?

    • @marklerner6154
      @marklerner6154  6 лет назад +4

      This is an excellent question. The answer will vary depending upon the individual and his/her history. is this like a polygraph test?

    • @marck8899
      @marck8899 4 года назад +1

      Browncocoa Just have to add here in my crusade to ban these devices. Polygraph is a SCAM industry. They only use it to scare confessions out of suspects who believe they actually work. In other words, if you believe in polygraphs, chances are you’ll be scared and confess to what they’re trying to shake out of you. I took a polygraph once to settle a trust issue and was told I “failed miserably” even though I was being 100% truthful and should’ve passed with flying colors. The U.S. Supreme Court has already ruled, that the polygraph is as reliable as the “toss of the coin”. Had I known how flawed the polygraph industry is, and their operators being narcissistic POS, I never would’ve subjected myself to it. It was my idea to hire a polygraph examiner, not the other party. Since then, I have learned about the Supreme Court’s decision on banning their use to being admissible in courts of law, due to their extremely poor results. Also, I learned of these two resources available on RUclips here, one is Doug Williams Polygraph (a former Oklahoma Detective/polygraph examiner and now a crusader against their use), and the other is a 60 Minutes television episode taped around 1986. The 60 Minuets episode has Diane Sawyer and her undercover investigative team exposing the polygraph industry for being complete frauds. The episode is called “Truth or Consequences”. All that these detectors can do is measure physiological body responses to stimuli. There is no Pinocchio effect when you lie. Your nose doesn’t grow when you lie, your heart rate, breathing and sweat activity don’t necessarily increase when you lie. This is a SCAM industry and they will vigorously defend its alleged accuracy to continue to profit handsomely with useless but sometimes damaging results to those trying to settle a trust issue or apply for a job. Some polygraph businesses claim 98-99% accurate results, that’s amusing since our own Supreme Court has said they are as reliable as a “toss of a coin”.

    My Country Feedback 🦅♥ 🇺🇸
    In God We Trust
    Continual Prayers against The Left-hand Path.
    Well at least this Sheriff's Department doesn't shut off the "comments" button to prevent criticism for their sins and wickedness, and iniquities like the LA County Sheriff's Department does ❤.
    What kind of people are these who can dish out all kinds of criticism, but can't tolerate even the slightest correction, negative report, negative response or criticism even for their most hideous and malicious acts, and crimes against civilization? This is perplexing. ❤
    This policy of silencing correction and criticism could possibly, truthfully and easily and obviously be construed Left-hand Path, Deep State Extremist Terrorism, Incorrigible Public Administration Bureaucracy, Evil Invisible Empire 666 compatible.
    These are the very things that in my prayers I pray against, I pray that God will intervene a put a haul to these.❤
    I am not praying 🙏 for the destruction of good, but I am definitely praying for the obliteration of Evil. I am Right-hand Path I pray intercession prayer, Spiritual Warfar Prayers for all Evil 😈 in civilization to be annihilated, destroyed, and removed, along with oppression. The Beast 666 is Public Enemy number 1.❤
    It is agape to pray for the annihilation and destruction of evil in civilization so that we can have World Peace.
    So I observe that the Sheriff's Department has shut down the comments button on all of the RUclips Shorts. So, I tap the dislike button on all of their videos to bring to their Exalted attention this error and mistake.❤ "That men may know that they are men and not God." And that God is Love.
    Sincerely,
    Me
    O God come to the assistance of all humanity against The Beast 666. Amen.

    I should have watched this before my first interview. I did so many things wrong the first time.

      Me too, I definitely came off unconfident and I’m pretty sure that’s why I got the no. Definitely felt like I was in trouble the whole time haha

    If you need to act for the interview your not suited for the job, it's supposed to screen people that don't know how to handle authority respectably. The screening process needs to be changed and updated consistently

    If you see what going on with officers losing their cool out there, these interviews need to be better and weed out the bullies and those that can not handle being disrespected. The weakest link in the force creates the BAD news and gets the department/city sued.
