    I've done many many tests on high end TV's and home theater systems and there is zero difference. I used the diamond hdmi Vs £21 hdmi cable. I did notice a difference only on changing RCA to XLR and my speaker cable did I find an improvement in audio quality

    • @liquidsk8s
      @liquidsk8s 2 года назад

      @@andym1162 incorrect. They are exactly the same under 25’. You wasted money.
      Until you are trying to do long cable runs, there is absolutely no reason to buy expensive cables. It’s snake oil.

    • @blowfishes
      @blowfishes 5 месяцев назад +2

      The better cables transmit the same digital signals as the cheaper ones, however it is the interference that get introduced. Better cables have far better insulation and with the newer 48GB Audioquest cables, the additional bandwidth allows for stronger audio performance.

  • @ImBatman83
    @ImBatman83 4 года назад +7

    Please make a video showing the picture quality difference you see between a cheap cable and this expensive cables. I’ll love to see that. Feel free to do an A/B blind test with anyone you think will see this difference.
    Stipulation: both cables must support the specified transfer rate of the HDMI version you are using. I.e. if you are using HDMI 2.1 - 48Gbits/s, HDMI 2.0 - 18Gbits/s, HDMI 1.4 - 10.2Gbits/s.
    Of all the videos I have watched, none have shown what bad picture quality looks like on a WORKING cheap HDMI cable that meets the HDMI spec it’s being used on.
    FYI: I have a dynex cable from Best Buy that was bought for under $30 when HDMI 1.3 was the latest spec and this cable passes HDR from my PS4 HDMI 1.4 port to my LG OLED TV (HDMI 2.0 ports). Cheap cables are not supposed to do that...right? I should see picture quality degeneration on my OLED TV...right? I mean, do you even know what the source content is supposed to look like? Do you have a reference monitor to show what information is missing or degraded?

    • @TheRafcave
      @TheRafcave  4 года назад

      Yeah I have the best Monster cable they ever made not passing HDR past 9ft. Your dynex cable is no more than 5 or 6ft I bet. Regardless, to each there own, If you feel better using a $30 cable connected to your multi thousand dollar OLED, than more power to you.

    • @ImBatman83
      @ImBatman83 4 года назад +3

      THE RAFCAVE yes, my cable is less than 6ft. You should not be having problems with passing HDR through a 9 feet cable for the materials in this monster cable if they are top notch. The problems should start at 25ft. It’s troubling to hear that an expensive cable can’t even pass HDR @ 9ft or can’t do the job it was design for. 🤔 I bet an amazon basics cable will pass HDR @ 9ft. HDR is not that bandwidth intensive.
      Anyway, I do agree with you; to each their own but you are passing misleading info to the public. Do some strong research first. You cannot see PQ improvement from cheap cable that works to an expensive one. Period. Full stop. End of story.
      Degraded HDMI signals show up as sparkles on the tv or a blank screen. This is not an analogy signal where you get interference that muddies the picture.

    What up Raf man. It's been a little since I commented on your videos. I have all cinnamon cables for my setup. I did upgrade to the new cinnamon 8k-10k cables. There's a little bit of a difference picture and audio wise. I have Martin Logan speakers and I use 8awg speaker wire with pure silver banana plugs, and them bad boys were EXPENSIVE, I paid like almost 100 dollars for just 4 of them. I had to buy a few packs. Those pure silver banana plugs gave me the audio difference I was looking for. I finally upgraded to a Sony 60 inch OLED TV last year.

      THE RAFCAVE I also purchased cinnamon optical audio cables to hook up my bose Soundbar 500 directly to my tv. I currently have $5 amazon optical audio cables and i notice maybe 3 times throughout a show I will lose Audio for a split second but then it comes back immediately. Do you think the cinnamon optical cables will fix that issue. I have an oled lg C9 with an Apple TV 4K. When I enable “match content and frame matching” under the setting on the Apple TV 4K, I notice a loud buzzing sound once I press play on any show on Netflix, prime, showtime etc...and then after the buzzing for like 2 seconds, the buzzing goes away and the movie plays perfectly. Is there any way to get rid of that noise/buzzing??

    Hey I just bought a AQ sky 1.0% silver cable to run from my Bose lifestyle to the Samsung qled vía ARC. I have an old AQ forest 0.5% silver which is running from my Apple TV/xbox one x to the lifestyle. I have the opportunity to get a cinnamon (1.25%) short like 1M for 39.99 or a Carbon (5%) 2M for 120.00. Also, my question is does video quality cap out with the silver somewhere where in audio that cap is much higher? Right now I have the higher rated silver cable going to the TV ARC and the lower interconnecting to the receiver.

    I might be due for a really great upgrade replacement of a old HDMI cable and don't want to spend a lot of money so I on;y have to go about 6ft as I have a Entertainment Center...what would be the difference from the Black Pearl Audioquest to the next one up or even to the Cinnamon? Could I still get a great picture from the Black Pearl rather than spending more money? Also, could I get away with Monster Cable for a great picture being and would that be better picture as it's only about 6ft?

      It's not always about image quality. Cheap cables tend to break easily and sometimes the signal is inconsistent. Sure, the picture will look the same as long as the cable still works. I bought cheap hdmi cables and they worked great, for a couple months. Then I got temporary signal loss from time to time (black screen for few seconds, then image reappeared). When I contacted the store for refund they said for cables at this price there's no refund/return policy. It's like they knew this gonna happen.

    • @SCW031992
      @SCW031992 5 лет назад +5

      The AudioQuest Cinnamon is not a $2,000 cable, though. As someone who claims to fix computers for a living, you should know the difference that quality materials can make. As a THX-certified professional calibrator who has worked with flagship OLEDs and $40,000 production monitors, the cables that one uses is important. The signal needs to be as untouched and unchanged as possible. Cheap Monoprice HDMI cables cannot provide that for the user.

    Nonsense. Unless you're experiencing picture break-up, or "sparkles", or other OBVIOUS signal loss, an "Amazon" cable will look no different to a "high end" HDMI cable. Audioquest were actually caught cheating on an HDMI cable comparison video - the video was up for a year, and suddenly got pulled once someone proved the fakery. A cable one third the cost of Audioquest will be more than sufficient to do exactly the same thing. Assuming that Monoprice cable isn't actually causing any issues, replacing it is utterly pointless.

    Sorry to be the one to tell you Raf, but its snake oil bra, yes they use good materials and all to built their cables and cosmeticaly they are nice and all but all that plays the placento Effect in your brain to make you belive all this is going to give you a better picture. An HDMI wire either works or it doesnt, they dont make the picture better its a digital signal allready you cant change it. If you experience noise or video drops you got an issue with the hdcp or bad hdmi.

      The ONLY time you’ll notice a difference are cable runs over 25’ which starts a whole different conversation with passive cables/boosters etc.
      With a 5’ HDMI cable it’s either receiving the signal or it’s not. There will be zero difference in the quality of the image. Zero.
