    Hi, I'm a self taught drummer and I've been playing for a year and a few months and i would guess that I'm maybe at an intermediate level (i can play lots of double bass stuff and led zeppelin beats, ect ect) but i still haven't learned any full songs. Do you have any tips on how i can learn full arrangements because its still a mystery and a challenge to me. Thanks :)

      busch Hi, can you read music? If so, you can pick up a transcription book with some intermediate rock songs to start with. If you don’t read music, I’d recommend finding a teacher and learning. If you don’t want to do that, then I think you have to learn by ear (also ok).

    Thanks Matt! I have long wanted to ask, if it's hard to be a drummer of King Diamond?)

    • @mattthompsondrums
      @mattthompsondrums  5 лет назад +1

      Oleg Ivanov That is a complex question. Musically...not really? Once it’s memorized, it’s memorized.

      @@mattthompsondrums Matt, thank you for your time and answer! If you can have a couple more questions)
      How are your rehearsals at King Diamond? When creating a new material, do you always rehearse the whole group, or does the main work take place individually at home? Does King ever attend rehearsals?) Is it worth waiting for a new album from King in the near future?
      Thank you for your work!)

    • @mattthompsondrums
      @mattthompsondrums  5 лет назад +1

      Oleg Ivanov In the past, we haven’t rehearsed new material for new albums, King makes his demos and Andy makes his. When we rehearse, it’s before a tour, and King does rehearse with us.
