Actually the mum and dad hawks don’t care if the older (usually female) kills the weaker male.Female means girl and male means boy.
Also all bird of prey females are larger and more powerful then the males except except for vultures because female and male vultures are around the same size.

I live in Galápagos and snakes that live here are not poisonous, they are small though so they can't eat iguanas. Also snakes here are very thin they are similar to a finger in terms of thickness
they have an epic video showing snakes hunting the iguanas

The Iguana should have done a 360 degree defensive roll to shake of the hawk. The weight ratio between the two is not that much and the Iguana has extremely strong claws and tail.

Now that is surprising. I thought that the eagle was going to go for the eggs, or the babies once they hatched, but to go after a fully grown iguana? That said, eagles of the same size can feed on goats by pushing them off cliffs, in Mongolia they have been trained to kill wolves and almost all species have been seen hunting snakes, so I suppose it's not that much of a stretch.
