There's something I find disturbingly relatable and welcoming about Yames' work. The way the characters seem to celebrate the erosion of their humanity as they become grotesque malformed abominations is something I didn't expect to find so this alluring and I have no idea how I feel about that

I agree! I feel like humans are naturally programmed to avoid or fear things that can change our human bodies, even for the better, like augmentation. But for every person who fears change, there's another who would welcome it. These things are unsettling, but the sense of community connected to the change is appealing to some. Humans crave connection, even in the depths of depravity.
If you've ever seen the horror movie The Cave, it's the exact same feeling, knowing that your body is changing and there's nothing you can do about it, and all you can do is try to embrace whatever little humanity you have left or fall prey to the change and become something else
I really like Yames's games. They're so fascinatingly cool, and very unique with what they offer. Such experiences dude.

Yames is a genius. He makes horror about things that you can't even comprehend in the most creative ways possible.
Fun fact about angels from the bible: They had to tell people when they appeared "do not fear" because they were actually a horrifying mass of wings sprouting from a halo, and in modern times they are depicted as a human with wings and a halo above their head instead.

Water Womb is this weird, semi-Dagonic thing that has tons of parallels to both the Lovecraft and the Christian mythoi and I love it.
The funny thing about the creature in Yames's game, is that it's probably a reference to the Bigfin Squid, a type of squid that looks like an alien, extremely long tentacles, that spade head etc, look it up! It looks almost identical!
Mark has one of those voices that could narrate an epic movie.

Yames is so talented holy shit... The sounds in the game I think are a huge part of it, he can just create this ominous and deep, heavy atmosphere somehow and it's made so much better by the grainy, surreal visuals. Just.... Goddamn, everything comes together so well

The first game was terrifying and yet it didn’t have a single jumpscare. That is rare
The things that linger in your mind are scarier than forcing your body to jump. Being scared by an entity is one thing, but if the whole environment unsettles you it’s more effective.
TDWL2 it was so unique, probably the best biblical horror I’ve ever seen including outlast 2

I've never seen these so called "monsters" of which people speak. But growing up, if I thought a monster was under my bed or in the closet, I did one of two things: made nonsensical threats while gathering objects to hit it with, or offered it the addresses of other kids who used to bully me in exchange for leaving me alone. I wasn’t expecting to study the story of a random game at 1am but here’s the conclusion I came to. So whatever that area is, it’s gods womb, plain and simple, where life is created and stays, the coral is just a part of it, the wall of the womb that created the neurons and proteins that bring about the organisms within it. That’s how the messager came and the red bois, who appear to be connected to the ground that opened up to reveal the “true” womb. That’s what I spent my time coming too

The most amazing thing it that Yames was able to connect evolutionary biology and theology. The concept is pretty simple yet absolutely mindblowing. In this setting Adam and Eve never were human, they were marine species that "left the womb (aka the ocean)" and came to the surface of the planet.
All of Yame's games ( pun not intended ) have a vibe that is unsettling but cool none the less. And i wonder what game he might put out next that mark can play :)
Fun fact: Angels are actually quite terrifying, only in more accessible circles are they portrayed so pleasantly
