Great video. Your original Ghost of Yotei video was really insightful. I really hope you keep up with these reaction videos. You raise awesome points. Keep up the awesome work.
I don't even care that it's a female. It's that they chose after having a wildy successful game with a male lead to make a sequel with a female and the actress they chose. It really tells you a lot about whats going on internally at Sucker Punch. I saw someone else brought up Naughty Dog, and that to me is the best comparison. They not only destroyed TLOU by Part 2, they did it to Uncharted as well with the Lost Legacy, albeit to a less extent. Both games are fine gameplay wise, but the reasons behind what they were doing is pretty obvious. I feel like, and could be wrong, the issue with Ghost of Yōtei is that Ghost of Tsushmia was very successful and praised by "anti woke" gamers. Sony probably didn't like the feedback or Sucker Punch didnt either, so they set out to make a sequel to "pwn the chuds". I honestly hope I'm wrong but that's just what it feels like.
Hey, I don't entirely disagree. I won't for a second deny that the past several years has been full of shoehorned social agendas in video games and other media. So I get why people are fed up. The reason I separate a studio like Sucker Punch from say a Naughty Dog is the fact that SP works very closely with Japanese historians. They put so much effort into respecting their culture and history. Now, I don't know if they did the same for the sequel, but so far, judging by the trailer and setting... all seems just as respectful. I just feel like people are too quick to judge nowadays with minimal info. We haven't even heard Atsu speak yet. I'm gonna reserve my judgement until more info is released.
@@LeoLeeGaming That's a fair take and I commend you for being level headed about it. I however have lost my ability to be charitable to the game companies and expect the best. And with this game, I know there were onna-musha or onna-bugeisha but I kinda feel like westerners have co-opted this into thinking they were exactly the same as sumari or bushi. From what I know they weren't. I'm not going to pretend to be Japanese or that I know everything about Japanese history. I've only taken college courses in Japanese history/governance and language classes, which probably only scratched the surface. But I don't like the bastardization of their culture or any for that matter. While this isn't as bad as what Ubisoft is doing, and I do think you're right about Sucker Punch respecting the culture. @@LeoLeeGaming If that is the case, then the game must NOT refer to her character as a "samurai" because she is not qualified to have earned such a title by the emperor or the feudal lords of pre-modern Japan. I disagree about The Last of Us Part 2. It was well done because you get to see both sides of the conflict and the outcome of Joel's decision. How that anger and revenge Cycles back. It's not that i dont like female protagonist, i dont like the person behind it and their agenda. Imagine playing it and the image of the activists constantly pop in. It would be annoying. It would be better if they dont bring her in their promotional material in the first place and just focus on the gameplay and story.
some people also have no idea about Japanese history. Or they would know that the role of Onna-musha (female Samurai) was greatly diminished in the 300 years between Tsushima and Yotei, while back in Jins time it was a honorable and well respected position with some influence behind it. In the time Yotei played the were mostly ridiculed and harassed they weren't even allowed to travel on their own, but only in the company of men and even then they needed special permits that stated their business and who send them to which place. Without those permits they couldn't go anywhere. It's a strange setting to base your open world exploration game in with a female lead that's not allowed to travel.
😃😂@WOYMEN SAMURAI😂😃😒those stories are about as legit as Kabuki theater🔥 After playing the expansion pack I got worried about this series future🤔 A female protagonist is simply RIDICULOUS...women lack the upper body strength to compete with males in bladed combat ESPECIALLY 😃😂 Females fought heroically with spears and naginatas defending structures and staying in groups but in open warfare 1 on 1 vs men they would be DEAD MEAT... I heavily suspected they would destroy these games with DEI and fantasy garbage as your experience in the game went from gritty reality to silly fantasy because your character would ultimately find themselves fighting an old lady who did kung fu arial spins with her magical wooden staff🤔😒😂
There's a real issue here and it's quite easy to see . For one people misuse the word woke. And their ignorance shows when they use it in a negative way. United States the word work began with Martin Luther King during the Civil Rights Movement. It was due to his work for the Vietnamese Buddhist monk. Learning about mindfulness in the awakened state of a bodhisattva from the teachings of ThayvThich Nhat Hahn who works with him. Martin coin the phrase woke I began to using his sermons. That's why it's part of a culture of people of color when they using me someone's woke or intelligent and aware I had a high level. However people with bigotry in their minds try to use it against Martin Luther King making fun of it. Sally that has started to happen again today. The foolish misuse of the word do the ignorance rather than being awakened. Trying to humiliate those to use wisdom compassion and equanimity as a guiding Factor. Rather than Unity they use it as a way to create dividing hatred against those who have the more awakened nature. Because to them wisdom and Truth is a threatening factor to their negativity. As far as this game is concerned there's no doubt it's going to sell extremely well like the previous one. And the attacks on the voice actress just further shows the inability to separate factors. But those who attack her I'm showing why she needs to have a defensive nature. People who are persecuted often need to be. Now I would rather her put a sigh the need to be so defensive the show real strength against people of foolishness. But she has to do that with her own mind. If you watch RUclips videos in certain people and I know certain redhead who in person is very bigoted in her views. The automatically put up aspects about a person such as they might be non-binary or identified as multiple things I do not fit their narrow views. They tried to make an excuse for attacking if the stop promoting inclusion. We have seen that lack of occlusion is a source of bigotry. Weather was against Japanese Americans, Chinese settlers, African-Americans, Vietnamese, how many others. Ignorance remains ignorance and definitely a lack of the state of Awakened mind. And when people are a negative against what they call woke is there a negative against Martin Luther King command those who fought for civil rights and equality.
Tldr; but incorrect, the term "woke" dates back to the 1940s. Mainstream usage of the term gained relevancy by mid-2010s by marketing capitalists in the US.
This is why taking the time to read something rather than send it to long is important. That's where misuse and ignorance comes from . It has nothing to do with capitalism and if it was it was used by others improperly. And people who like the background in education in it would do so and that was actually used against Martin Luther King who changed the awaken term to woke and a ladder sermons. It was used by people of color for very long time throughout my family it was as well. Not a derogatory meaning but for people who had an understanding and a deeper way. Today such as on RUclips you see people Miss using the term or to try to use it to counter people who are proactive inequality and equanimity a further aspect of the state of being awakened, which is why Martin Luther used in that exact way. It certainly has nothing to do with capitalism and if anyone is using it that way they're doing so foolishly in the opposite. One thing that is a parent especially on RUclips and channels people always try to use the term to be derogatory to support their narrow views. And you can actually see if you do a little research into their other videos, how they approach things and speak. There are RUclipsrs that always against people who are d e i, lgbt, different religions, or Pro feminism or women's rights. Now it is definitely certain that some people on the other side also use it in a way that is not meant to be used. When people use it to express it in an anger manner than its negative it's counterproductive and against the state of being awakened. Such a swan girl that is tje voice actress for the game. Standing up for what she feels is perfectly Justified and right. Stating in a hateful manner against others or purposely trying to spark hatred against others, is in fact not being woke or awakened , cuz they're too attached to the emotions to be awakened or woke. So using the term woke for her is actually incorrect wrong and for the propagates the ignorance. Sources: walking woke by Martin Luther King sermon 136. Source 2. Awakened Boddisattva: woke in the West. Thich Nhat Hahn Retreat in Deer Park. Both actually discuss the use of the term origin and the Very things I told you about. If anyone was saying it was originally capitalism they made it up or fabricated it in order to try to separate the truth and the facts of it.
@@victorvargas9330 here's the short version for those that can't comprehend I'm used to giving speeches out of college level. The word woke in fact originated during the Civil Rights Movement with Thich Nhat Hahn and Martin Luther King. He replaced the walk awakens term with woke and that was actually due to one of the women that worked for him. The continued to be used by people of color even by many older people today. The resources both from Martin Luther King and one of his sermons as well as writings by Thich Nhat Hahn. We're going to details about the usage during that time. Lighter people misuse it and usually it was to be slanderous against more educated people that worked for Unity and civil rights. The repeat of that happens today with the constant misuse of it on the internet RUclips and search cuz people don't bother to listen in School sense it actually top in that very exact format

You don't hire Phoebe Waller-Bridge for her acting abilities. In my country we have a really nice proverb, but those don't translate well, the closest thing is: birds of a feather flock together. You don't hire an activist that is open about how she likes changing scripts she is given, if you don't want to have activism riddled game. Then you start digging about devs, how they have pronounces on twitter now. And that is the reason for the red flags. Not just "one hire and suddenly it's woke". It all started stinking a bit more then it should. And Spiderman 2, God of War: Ragnarok, Horizon West, Last of Us 2, Alan Wake 2, Saint Row, ... All games that were once great and their sequels "addressing broader audience" are much worse then the original. If you don't see a pattern, you can try to bring the same amount of games made in last 5 years with sequels surpassing the first instalment. But it'd seem that odds are much more against Ghost of Yokei, then for. And instead of resisting, like Space Marines 2 devs dismissing woke writers, the Sucker Punch took a deep dive into the s### instead it'd seem. Still can be a decent game. Well, The old developers of GoT got replaced by new ones.. soo.. It's WO----
Great video. Your original Ghost of Yotei video was really insightful. I really hope you keep up with these reaction videos. You raise awesome points. Keep up the awesome work.
Thanks as always brudda!
I'm just cautious about this one. I don't own a PS5 anymore so I'll have to sit it out anyways, but if I did I probably wouldn't buy this game day one.
Other than that, thanks for the response. Subscribed btw. 🙂
@@KohaiJr no, thank you for the interaction and sub!
@@LeoLeeGaming If that is the case, then the game must NOT refer to her character as a "samurai" because she is not qualified to have earned such a title by the emperor or the feudal lords of pre-modern Japan. If not, then SP didn't exchange proper dialogue and/or clear translations with the "Japanese historians."
I disagree about The Last of Us Part 2. It was well done because you get to see both sides of the conflict and the outcome of Joel's decision. How that anger and revenge Cycles back. In a continue from Abby to Ellie until they both realize the stupidity of it. Regardless of a person's agenda and people's views on her, let's face a lot of people just want someone to hate on, the actress also has to learn how to take the anger torture and bigotry in respond in a more dignified way. She definitely gets hot headed.
I love Ghost of Tsushima. I finished the game on PS 4, PS 5 and PC. I have all the achievements. I still play GoT Legends. I do hope Ghost of Yótei is going to be good. I want to see more of beautiful Japan, visit new Inari shrines, compose new wakas. I want to shoot the Tanegashima. I am disapointed though that the main protagonist of the game is a woman. No, I am not sexist, I am a man who wishes to play as a male protagonist in a feudal japanese game. That is not an unreasonable position. Sucker Punch choosing to hire Erika Ishii out of all people they could have hired is still very concerning to me. I have never heard about her before now. Is she such a great actor they just had to have her? Am I supposed to just ignore the fact, they decided to hire and give money to this unhinged far-left trans activist calling to abolish all police because she believes they are all white supremacists?. I won't ignore it. I have waited for 4 years for any news on a new Ghost game. I love the first game. I love Jin Sakai and all the other characters from the game. I wish I am wrong and this game is going to be as good or even better than GoT, but I am very concerned.
@@jarek94cze I too really wanted more Jin. But I will still continue to hold judgement until more info comes out. This is my first time hearing about Erika too. Isn't that a good sign though? She's been in a lot of games and I've played many of them. So that means it didn't bother people before because those games didn't contain her personal views.
Didn't expect a video like this from you

I hate Dan Schneider, but I still like the shows he directed(not every show obviously). You can like art without liking the creator.
Same goes for me and an actor like Tom cruise. I respect his dedication and work but pay no attention to his personal life.
Not Jackie Chan, my childhood hero, who supports the PRCCP.
I think the point is people are hypocrites ! If we accuse one why not the other ? I’m hearing that it’s possible the og devs of ghost aren’t even involved fully ! It doesn’t matter if it’s sucker punch we don’t know shit yet . But we also can’t be hypocrites . If it quacks it’s a duck

I haven't deleted a single comment here or my other video. In fact, I haven't ever deleted a comment on any of my videos or shorts.
I wholeheartedly agree. She(?) has the 1st Amendment rights to exercise her(?) freedom of speech, but she(?) has no right to restrict others from exercising their 1st Amendment rights. There is freedom of speech, but there is no freedom from consequences which is also a form of freedom of speech in of itself. Blocking people and deleting comments is such a pxssy move, let's be very honest here.
@@victorvargas9330she is a bit hot headed it needs to learn how to curb her anger. But on her own platforms she doesn't have to stop the hatred towards her she can mute it. Does a lot of people that are hateful that want to slam the people for how they feel. Where there's a difference is where it's directed to persecute people. So yes she has her phone right to sign his people who are commenting angrily hateful and bigotry towards her. Where she's weak is reflecting the same anger they use back at them or towards others who actually have not caused the direct harm
@@LeoLeeGaminga lot of people always have opinions specially on RUclips or forums. Sadly people today don't stop and think about what they're saying before they emotionally react. We see it in people who slander and attack others, as well as those you think you need to reply hatefully against that. The voice actress which I fully support who she is how she feels and identifies, and has a full right to silence people who are playing hateful ways when on her own forums, she needs to learn to react in a way that is more dignified and how to defuse people's power over her.
I didn't play the first game, but most of the time its kinda of a huge risk when you change your protagonist in a sequel, for me I'm a bit skeptical at the moment, I hope they do good, but when you have bad actors on X and other social media web sites they just make people want to turn this game down
I agree. Sucker Punch undoubtedly took a risk hiring such a publicly opinionated actor.
Well it is another game it's actually not a sequel to the first. It's actually in a very different time period much later I have to do with a different event . She's not called a samurai she's actually a female Ronan and was trained by a Samurai and you'll see who
Game is NOT DEI! She is! .... right
People love to talk and rage about politics one way or the other. Time will tell if the new Ghost is woke or not. Untill than I will reserve my judgement.
Im open to it but it’s Sony and their track record is woke so. I’ll just wait and see
It's not that i dont like female protagonist, i dont like the person behind it and their agenda. Imagine playing it and the image of the activists constantly pop in. It would be annoying. It would be better if they dont bring her in their promotional material in the first place and just focus on the gameplay and story.
Ghost of LGBTQ
The way people reacted made me realize that some didn't play the first game or pay attention to the side characters and missions.
Some people did play Lady Masako's quest and still didn't realize what it meant.
some people also have no idea about Japanese history.
Bring back Jin sakai! 😡

😃😂@WOYMEN SAMURAI😂😃😒those stories are about as legit as Kabuki theater🔥
After playing the expansion pack I got worried about this series future🤔 A female protagonist is simply RIDICULOUS...women lack the upper body strength to compete with males in bladed combat ESPECIALLY 😃😂 Females fought heroically with spears and naginatas defending structures and staying in groups but in open warfare 1 on 1 vs men they would be DEAD MEAT... I heavily suspected they would destroy these games with DEI and fantasy garbage as your experience in the game went from gritty reality to silly fantasy because your character would ultimately find themselves fighting an old lady who did kung fu arial spins with her magical wooden staff🤔😒😂
Dude, calm the hell down. It's not like they're claiming it to be historically accurate. Unlike some people.
"Women samurai" is whitewashed misnomer; onna-musha ("female warriors") existed, but onna-samurai did not.
Another woke game shit

Will sell less then a half of the first, they will wonder why, they will blame sexism, ... you know the drill by now.
@@elenoe8we have that kind of proverb too in my country. It's maybe close to, one bad apple spoils the bunch. It's indeed a pattern we see with Sony, not saying Ghost of Yotei would fall on the same path but criticism and scepticism about this game doesn't happen in a vacuum. Sure one VA's attitude towards the fans doesn't translate the whole devs team or the product but it's still a valid concern regardless.
