I'm Nigerian (currently abroad). I always laugh when someone brings up that they think Africans are starving and live in huts with wild animals.😂
It's changing now. Everyone wants to go to Africa , especially Nigeria.
Lack of education and also lack of knowledge.
As in😅
Let them keep thinking so. It means they will stay where they are and not come over.
😂😂
Nigerians are rich asf
We don’t fake it
The most important aspect of the video is one not mentioned. That is, the house is fully paid for and you don't have to worry about monthly mortgage. You don't pay property tax too, so it remains in the family for as long as they want. Now, that is freedom, which explains why some Nigerians don't understand what you mean by stress.
APTLY on
Spot on
Wait a minute😃. Don't have to pay property taxes...whaaaat!🤔
@@kaycee6036 Very true no taxes and mortgage payment
@@kaycee6036No, we don't! Nigeria is NOT a settler society. There's a spot that belongs to the family as long as they give birth to male children. The eldest male child inherits that spot while his siblings move out to found new homesteads. Some run to perhaps 1000 years.
No govt can survive messing with such a property by way of property tax. Can you imagine trying to take possession of such a property after buying it at tax sales? You would not live to tell the story.
Some families have lived continuously on the same piece of land for centuries. Until recently, we lived in villages. My family has lived on the same spot for over 200 years, as a running thread of 1st-borns. And that's not even the extended family central home which has become a shrine. The family meets there once every year during the feast of the Dead to pour libations and commune with the spirits of the ancestors.
In some parts of Igboland, you may not marry from your village bcuz you are related & traceable to the same progenitor, even if you don't know what generation of cousins you are to one another.
This may be the reason why having a male child is so central to Igbo cosmology. It's a curse to not have anyone maintain the family homestead and commune with the spirits of the ancestors; that severed connection between the living & the dead, called "double death" (onwu na abu), is the Igbo equivalence of going to hell. We implore God to never allow that to happen, hence, the names we give to our children: "Amaechina, Eziechina, Afamefula, etc."
Americans think Nigeria 🇳🇬 live in bushes not knowing we live a luxury lifestyle than them
I really respect Nigeria they own their economy!!
All the big and small businesses are owned by Nigerians 95%.. Nigeria is pure black African economy
It's expensive because you're not just buying the house but also buying the "connection and status"----by meeting up with the caliber of people living in Banana Island! 👌🏾🙏🏾
I laugh when I hear ignorant people thinking that we live in huts. Funny people everywhere. Your videos are enlightening to those that don’t know. Nigeria is truly blessed. Our problem is bad governance. The best part about owning property in Nigeria is that we don’t pay property tax and mortgage. Once we pay for properties, it remains in our families for as long as we want it.
I believe the 300 - 500M is actually in Naira which roughly translates to 0.6 - 1.1M dollars.

in the rest room, that was not 2 toilet bowls. One is the actual toilet, while the other is a water splash for rinsing of your private areas if you choose to.
Ronke that water splash thing is called a bidet ( pronounced bidee)!

Banana island is the most expensive place in the whole of Africa,,,that's a fact.
No it’s not 😂😂. Not as expensive and up town and Sandton in South Africa or some of the island in capetown were it’s literally international billionaire properties. The most expensive place in Africa cannot be in Negeria

300 to 500 million was in Nigerian currency (Naira) which would be about 700k to 1.2 million US dollars per apartment
It's in dollars.....
@@techwork... it's definitely not lol, I'm Nigerian lived in lagos for over 10 years there's no way an apartment cost 300 million, not even in New York or London
Those mansions are built with cash and there’s no property tax.
300m Naira not USD which at the time of recording of the video will be about 1.5m dollars
Thank you guys for showing good part of Africa
''This house is not for the weak''.🙂so true!
Land in this Island was extracted from the Atlantic ocean. It is not cheap to pile land out of the ocean. This is why the land is so expensive.
There is another one underdevelopment in Victoria Island, called Eko Atlantic.
Sujimoto is a very good architect.
He's a developer not an Architect but he is good at his craft
Actually, most estates in Lagos now changes their security codes every 1 hour, some changes every 24hrs.
“Dad, where’s the water?” Love it!
Try looking at houses in Abuja.
It’s not in usd it’s in Naira so the N300m is about $671,853.30
Property valuation is completely different from the western world. There’s no property taxes and land location is what they really sell. I’m sure if home owners are to pay property taxes the value would be lower. I’m from Nigeria living in New England and still can’t fathom the housing market in Nigeria.
The reactions are so funny😅
She is loving it.
I love the impersonation of the rich people accent😅😁
He have moved into his own home now , this was years ago
Ok, he has rather 🤗
He’s building another one in banana island now

Though some are stolen govt money... But NIGERIA are wealthy....
Love luxury and love fun and party....
Happy people but the govt is what needed to be fixed, they need to be in top of their games...
You have to have money to get an apartment in that estate....
It's not 300 thousand USD. I am sure he meant the local Nigerian currency, the Naira. 7 Naira currently exchanges for 1 USD.
It’s in dollar you can buy land or house there in Naira
It's USD and by the way, the guy behind Sujimoto is below 40 years
I can't hear anything for a while but great video 👍👍👍
Kudos to you guys ✌
And thanks to @Tayo Aina for this video 💚
it's in Naira, not USD....prices range max out at $7.5m with an extreme of $20m recently completed
No ooo! It is in Naira so that should be around 700k dollars and 1million dollars but Adenuga house in Banana Island is 5million dollars! I worked in that house and that of Dantata which is 3million dollars.
Please i beg you react to Steven ndukwu inside her multi million dollar mansion birthday gift in Lagos

You definitely need privacy in the bathroom for some things. But if you've got to share one with a lot of people it's unfair to lock people out when you don't need to. Don't hog the bathroom if it's a guy shaving his face, you're brushing you teeth or doing your hair etc. It's unfair to keep people waiting or making them late for something unnecessarily.
Its a bidet. Both are for one person . In fact nowadays, many houses in Nigeria are built with a hose tap beside the toilet, to do the job of the bidet. All rooms are usually ensuite in new builds, with an extra toilet for visitors. So, no holding anything while banging on the door, lol.
300million Naira(Nigeria currency)

It’s a bidet in the bathroom 🚽 not and an intimate joint couples toilet. You use the bidet to flush and rinse your privates when you finished doing your business either number one or number two and you use a towel to dry up. Good for the environment and cleaner that using wipes or tissues.
