I don’t understand why everyone thinks that Donovan should play 2nd base on a daily basis, and why Saggese will be blocked at bat wise even if Arenado is traded. Donovan is always referred to as a “Swiss army knife” because he can play so many positions well. Why would you take someone that can spell players at multiple positions and not use that to your advantage. You easily get enough at bats for everyone if you have Gorman be your everyday player at third, and Saggese be your every day second baseman. Donovan then becomes the roving player who plays any position, and he spells struggling players. He is relatively consistent offensively, and you can let him spell people that are more streaky, or when they are struggling. Also, a player like Donovan helps to keep everyone fresh while providing good defense and at bats at multiple positions. It’s not rocket science. 🤷🏼♂️ If the team does go with Donovan at second, Saggese should be the right handed compliment to both Donovan and Gorman, and should spell Winn whenever needed. Works ok too, but not as well as Donovan being the utility guy. Let the young guy play one position and focus on at bats. Let Donovan be the vet that plays everywhere and provides stability, because he has already shown the ability to do so.
I still firmly believe that Gorman is the future of this club. I have watched them all since high school. Gorman was the one who always stood out with the most potential. Give him the right hitting coach and he is going to explode into a Superstar.
@wobu27 They definitely need to give him along with Walker & Burly a fair shake... A full season in the bigs with 500-600 ABs. Turn them loose & let them sink or swim. Yes, definitely need a quality hitting coach or 3.
@@Beo2728 but its burrleson doing it ,, he's hit at every level and yea hopefully Gorman gets jit together he did do a little better in 3a when they sent him down but walker needs to pick it up to just think those 3 alone could carry the club

@ghostfacegaming22 Then Fermin would have to go which would leave you a back up IF short on the roster. 13 spots for position players. Apparently they're going with 3 catchers. Herrera, Contreras & Pages. Winn, Gorman, Donovan, Sagesse & Burleson = 5 IF That's 1 IF short that can play 2B/SS/3B. Outfield of Noot, Walker, Scott, Siani = 4 OF This only leaves 1 spot left for a position player & we only have 1 back up IF here who plays 2b, ss or 3b. We don't need Baker, a 3rd 1B to go along with carrying 3 catchers. That's just silly. HE GONE! No room for Baker with a roster constructed like this. Carrying 3 catchers does that to ya.

It'll be very interesting to see what happens with Bregman. I get the very distinct feeling that a trade involving 'Nado will not happen until after Bregman signs. We're just waiting to see what he does. As for Polar Bear Pete, I still think he remains a Met. I think if the Mets make a competitive offer, he will choose to stay there. Just my feeling, nothing solid.
seems eating some salary would be best that money is already gone and whatever you can recoup in a trade is money saved Let the kids play. I think he goes to the Yanks
Think Nolan is the escape goat they are using him to blow smoke you the fans back side they are felling there bank account and fans is buying it.i don't care if Nolan goes or stays no money in my pocket who cares
I love Winn, and know they'll be better when he's healthy, but I think Saggase's value is even higher as Masyn's backup at short. Sophomore slumps happen too. Wouldnt be surprised if he plays quite a bit of short in camp. I see Saggase like a Carp type, doubles guy with a little pop. He might be able to put on some weight too and if the hit tool is there, maybe be could be impressive.
Hey JD: Mo must be getting light on the top of his head with Arenado situation. If he is still wearing the Birds On The Bat next season the youth movement will be impeded a lot. So much to say about this situation. It’s a fascinating situation that Mo may find his hands are tied with no way out. Great show J.D.!!!!!😊

Digging the Creed shirt JD, one of my all time favorote bands
How come nobody talks about César Prieto who had pretty darn good numbers offensively in AAA, and can play 3B/2B defensively pretty well too?
When do we think we will see Victor Scott as an everyday rotation player?
It will be hard for him to win award if not on the field

If Nolan Gorman is the future of the St. Louis Cardinals, then the future is indeed bleak.
