Air Legend 2024 | Airshow Dispatches S07E07

Highlights from Paris - Villaroche Air Legend in Melun, France. As one of the biggest warbird airshows of the year, Air Legend brought together rarities such as an AT-11 Kansan, newly-restored P-40E Warhawk, a trio of F4U Corsairs and strong representation from the Flying Bulls, with Europe's sole airworthy the P-38 Lightning and DC-6 both attending.
The Korean War was a major theme, with a special 'K-Formation' segment (F4U Corsair, P-51 Mustang, Sea Fury and AD-4N Skyraider), and solo displays from a MiG-15 and F-86 Sabre.
Away from the warbirds, the French Army contributed a trio of helicopter displays, including their excellent Eurocopter Tiger solo, and we enjoyed top-notch aerobatics from Richard Goodwin in the Jet Pitts and world aerobatic champion Florent Oddon in the Extra 330SC.

The Allouette was a star of many TV series The Prisoner in particular...the unusual sound of the Gazelle is from the Fenestron (Window ) tail rotor shroud.
