Going to a tent to eat and dropping premium money on the food is not attractive....

Who wants to go on vacation to a place that still looks like a disaster area with that nasty ocean water from the Hurricane still there ? Margaritaville is gouging customers for beach chairs

The problem with Fort Myers is it had a hurricane and a lot of people here think it’s damaged

I would go to a food truck at least 30% less than a real restaurant.

$12 appetizers and $25 main courses. Nobody can afford to go out.

Somewhat true. My wife and I went to a Pappadeaux's by our house this past weekend. It was noon, so you'd think it would be crowded. Place was maybe 40% full, so not too bad. But, I noted everyone was old. Including us, at age 57 and 60. I mentioned this to the mid-20's bartender and she said "Yes, people my age cannot afford to eat here". Noting our kids are just a bit older and basically only go out for dinner when we take them. And I can see why. While we had oysters and shrimp and all; my wife only had one drink and I had water. Bill was still $110. With tip, that's $135. When we take the kids and an occasional grand-child.... I can easily be looking at a $500 bill if we're drinking. It's hit $1k if the kid's friends join us at Dillon's BBQ for a football game.
Wife retired from a financial services firm, and I retired from the FDIC after 33 years with a pension. Retirement gig is CFO at a good-sized credit union, so we don't have to fret over the $ or anything. But, we're in the minority. And again, pretty much everyone at the Pappadeaux's was old. Just an observation.

You are blaming DeSantis for seasonal fluctuations? That's like blaming the Gov. of Colorado for no skiing in June. Not too bright.
