Nice hat! Love that little campground. Years ago, 70's I was driving up the coast at night in my VW camper and saw a little sign saying campground, it was this campground the first day it opened. I was the only one in camp.
Hi Bex, when you get a chance please make a video on how you setup your cooking items and where you store them when on the move. It will be interesting because you are full-timing in a small travel trailer we can all learn from it. BTW; enjoy all your videos.
It has been a very long time since I have been up on the Russian River or around Sea Ranch. It is one of my favorite sections of the north coast, with huge windswept vistas and morning fogs. Thank you for taking the time to share it with all of us.
I gasped aloud at that shot of the glittering river beyond the trees at Gualala campground. And the shot of receding coastline at sunset looks like a Japanese painting! The fruit doesn't fall far from the tree - that bowl of udon w/salmon seems like something outta Ma's kitchen..;-) Bex, your videos wake me up.
Fantastic video. The camping spot (on the pullout by the cliff) was amazing. I couldn't help but laugh at how fast Mr Petey's tail was wagging, as he dragged his leash through the sand. As you said in an earlier video, "instant puppy" on the beach. Be well. P.S. I do like the new hat.....good shade.
Fantastic video! What a gorgeous area ~ I remember driving across that bridge a few years back (when we had our 16' Scamp) but we didn't have time to stop there ~ now we know to go back. Really a great video ~ thanks for this one!
Caught myself nodding at your comment about the shadiness of the forest because it was as if you were talking directly to me. LOL Love this video. It is beautiful there.
I never heard of Udon before.. I'm going to have to research it when I get done here... Your dinner looked so good I love salmon as well as anything that comes from the water,. As usual you videos are the best , Stay safe. I'll be looking forward to your next video..
As you can tell by the windswept look of the trees, you are in what's normally a very windy place. It's also normally a very cold place, so you were lucky to be there when it was warm. You get occasional mid-winter days like you've had when there's a large high pressure system offshore and no big Alaska lows moving in. The sinking air makes the temperature rise except directly at the beach. This is not typical though, so people wanting to visit the Sonoma and Mendocino coast should be prepared for windy, cold, and sometimes very stormy weather. Point Arena Light has recorded some of the highest wind speeds on the California coast. Sonoma Coast State Park has a campground across Highway One that is far enough away from the beach and sheltered by trees and hills to protect it from the worst of the wind. It's a much more pleasant place when it's windy and cold at the beach
Extremely informative, grt8 scenery, better than pbs! Where did u buy ur straw hat? Looks nice! U take wonderful care of ur dog Petey, he looks young! Is he a Maltese? Keep traveling & making videos their Grt8!
You always find the most beautiful places!! I like your hat and it's about time you got one because you look quite red sometimes and burning like that is not good for your skin. Looking forward to your next adventure 🤗🤗🤗
+Tygerlady99 Thank you very much! I definitely needed a hat. I had a few that I really loved but they were stolen out of my car. So I'm glad to find another that I really love. :-)
Bex , Mr Pettie🐾 What a lovely area.Looked private not to many people around.👍🏻.Love the fog always reminds me of when I lived in San Fran.Oh yeah love the hat,Where did you pick it up at?
very nice, thank you... we always wonder what month or season it is in your videos. sometimes we can guess the season but fine tuning would be helpful... we generally add your offerings to our list of "go to" places
Great Video ! But 1 thing , when you're on the edge of the world and looking down and around . My Tummy was Trippin ! But it's ok I made it through the video lol
Really awesome! I would love to do a tent camp at the place where you 'boondocked'. Is there any regulations against it? I was curious what I should use as judgement to make sure it is ok? I'm amazed how there aren't any people in that beach!
Thanks for not making Kraft mac n cheese. I love hot chili oil. Great video as usual. Nice to see lots of Petie. And I like the hat. More videos please!
The sound is messed up. It may be my device since I didn't see anyone else talk about it. you look so good these days.......I mean wow good. I am very happy for you. Pretty place for sure.
+Lorrie Swan Oh, I have had a few times when I was watching RUclips on my phone the sound would fade out about every 30 seconds. You might try a different device. So sorry! And thanks for your kind comment!
+Christina Coloradoan Ha ha! I actually saw your comment a few days ago when I was in the library editing this video. I'll probably meet up with Carolyn again in another week or so.
Bex Cat-herder Ahh well I wish I had appreciated it more at the time! As a California native I feel so lucky to be surrounded by such beauty. As matter of fact thanks to you, and a few other You Tubers that have been posting in the last few weeks, my partner and I are planning a trip down to the Death Valley area. It looks spectacular and a place I never previously thought I would like to see! 😺
Awesome place. 3:50 and 12:20. I keep hearing about a marine layer when I see telecasts from the Bay Area/SF.....maybe that explains all the fog there. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Marine_layer
+Rick Martin Oh, I'm sure you are right. It's a bit strange at first because it's usually completely clear first thing in the morning and then again when the sun is going down. Just foggy and warm during the day.
It's all relative. Here in FL, there are places where people are easily paying double that. In Cali, I'd think that wasn't too bad the way everything else seems inflated (gas, for instance).
+Rick Martin Oh, it is relative! $35 is average for most state and county parks in California, most with no hook-ups. In Oregon, most state parks are $24 with electric and water. We do have some beautiful state parks, but when you're on a budget, it can be pricey. :-)
Hi Daniel! I mostly just wander and rarely have reservations or any set plans. On this trip, I just wanted to drive up the coast, stopping when I found a beautiful place. When I find a place, I will usually look up a few small facts to share in my videos. :-)

Bex Cat-herder that will be fun! 😆😆😆😆😆
Your hat is quite nice I must say. It becomes you, lovely traveling lady.
+Anton Bouchette Thank you very much! It's difficult to find hats that I like. :-)
Hey Bex, FYI the "G" in Gualala is silent, pronounced "Walala". I spent a lot of time there partying on the beaches when I was young-n-dumb.
I feel like I should have known that!! ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
But it must have been cool being "young-n-dumb" in such a beautiful place!!!
Bex Cat-herder Ahh well I wish I had appreciated it more at the time! As a California native I feel so lucky to be surrounded by such beauty. As matter of fact thanks to you, and a few other You Tubers that have been posting in the last few weeks, my partner and I are planning a trip down to the Death Valley area. is kayaking on the river allowed?

Mr Peetie😃
That was some beautiful footage - but IMHO $35/night is WAY too much for a campground, even with hookups!
It's all relative. Here in FL, there are places where people are easily paying double that. In Cali, I'd think that wasn't too bad the way everything else seems inflated (gas, for instance).
+Michael O I agree! $35 is OK for a very special place, but too much for more than a few nights.
+Rick Martin Oh, it is relative! $35 is average for most state and county parks in California, most with no hook-ups. In Oregon, most state parks are $24 with electric and water. We do have some beautiful state parks, but when you're on a budget, it can be pricey. :-)
Nice hat.
+autumn green Thank you!
Mr Petey is cute little guy, what type of dog is he? My kids love him
He's a Maltese. :-)
do you just drive and get lucky finding places or do you research somehow first
Hi Daniel! I mostly just wander and rarely have reservations or any set plans. On this trip, I just wanted to drive up the coast, stopping when I found a beautiful place. When I find a place, I will usually look up a few small facts to share in my videos. :-)
