I missed the train by 30 minutes . Did enjoy this. I used to travel to school in Stratford on Avon by steam train from the age of eleven but they were eventually replaced by Diesel engines - just not quite the same. Have never been on an American train but was amazed at how long they are when I first saw a freight train. Love the sound of your trains, something haunting about it . Thanks for this Scott, my grandsons will love it too. Blessings.
Nice. I rode on an Amtrak train when I was little. I loved it. They go fast! Thanks for bringing up my memory:) I'm trying to catch up on videos. Got alot.
Hi Scott! Awesome look at the train! Looks like the have a newer engine than when I took an Amtrak train trip from Iowa to California back in 2008. We took the Amtrak California Zephyr. I love the sounds the train makes! Such a fun way to travel. Thanks for showing us! It was cool! :-) ♡
That was fun! It was cool seeing a nice, new engine up close like that. My dad worked for CSX railroad. He was a dispatcher the second half of his career there. So I love trains too.
I grew up next to a train depot in Wisconsin that is much like this one. The tracks were no more than a couple hundred feet from my bedroom window. Even today the sound of a train whistle almost puts me to sleep. You grow to like them when you live so close.
Ive done the North Island Main Trunk. The South Island Trans Coastal... before the Kaikoura earthquake... and the Trans Alpine ( East Coast to West Coast) AWESOME!! Now I want to do The Taiere Gorge Dunedin train trip.
Thanks for the close-up, I haven't seen a train that close for a long while. I'm glad I wasn't waiting to cross those tracks! It's too bad they can't shut down the blocks when trains have to stop that long.🐕
Oh cool ! A train passing by must be extra exciting to someone who has been living on Hawaii, where there are no trains. Like me getting all "Oh, ooohhh," when I see sea turtles. LOL I am a railfan myself, but would not like to live right beside a railroad track. Especially one with a railroad crossing...all those bells and whistles! LOL
train station in Niles is fabulously beautiful with brilliant gardens just a few blocks from the main street of Niles. Might be worth taking it to Chicago at least once on future trips. The ornate architecture on the Niles Station is better than average. I drove through Niles to work for about six years before I moved to Mishawaka, down Edison street from Notre Dame.
I would love to do one of those cross country train trips someday! On another note, why did they block those vehicles from crossing while the engineers were out doing their thing? Those crossing gates can be over ridden. I'd probably get a little mad about that LOL
There are usually some Amish on the trains. My friend goes cross country by train and back to California a couple times a year to see family. That would make some good videos too. The backyards of Michigan are fascinating.
So do I Marie. And for those who were wondering, this train came in on the siding (not sure why it wasn't on the main line). No issues though - because no trains can come through when Amtrak is on the siding like that. Also for the person who was wondering about handicap accessibility, those cars are equipped with ramps.
I checked the Amtrak web site and they have no services in Hawaii. And if there were Amtrak trains in Hawaii, the rail crossing bells would sound like kokee frogs. :-)
I was on the wolverine once. The ride was smooth, but there was always a little bump when going over crossings. The passenger cars felt as though they were going to tip over when going around a curve.
I'm born and raised in Dowagiac But I never knew the train ever actually stopped at that station. Never in my 20 years there did it. I've been gone for 6 years now though.
Our steam trains turn into Thomas the tank engine trains couple of times a year for the kids, they put the faces of the front of the engines 🚂 have to get on UK trains from platforms, climbing on would be considered a health and safety nightmare, lol
A train museum in Pennsylvania is having a "Thomas the Tank Engine" festival this weekend. They have a model of Percy already sitting on the tracks. I think it gets pushed along by one of the restored engines. I have been watching the set up on webcam all week.
My father worked for Southern Pacific for 34 years. He taught my sister and I to not only love trains, but respect them especially at crossings.

I love trains. Waiting at the virtual station for the ..."all aboard."
my nephew is obsessed with trains. When he is over I will show him this :)

I watched this and now I have 'Train' video suggestions coming up on my Roku, lol. I dig trains so... right on! Glad you made it back to the island :)
I love all kinds of trains too Mahalo kia Ora Scott
That was fun. Did many rides on trains especially enjoyed the older narrow gage trains. Enjoy the rest of your day 🚈 🚈🚈 toot toot ding ding ding
Thank you for sharing Scott, 1 day I will be on 1 of those 🚅🚅🚅
Aloha, ohhh, love trains. I find them relaxing to ride on. Was great to see flags out in Michgan at this time. Mahalo
Thank you for showing my home town
That was Awesome!
Thanks for showing us, would love to ride in one someday.

Feel sorry for the guy stopped at the crossing!
That is pretty neat. I thought at first you were going to get on and have a train ride. Would be neat to see the scenery from the train.
I guess I missed that train by a long shot. Mahalo Scott!

Sorry I missed the live show! I travel by train whenever I can. Starting an 8,000+ mile three-week Amtrak trip on the 28th to LA, SLC, and Denver.
Cool!

I'm doing the train Thursday morning bright and early from STL to Chicago, then going back to STL Saturday morning.
Enjoy!
Cool! I don’t even remember the last time I was in a train 😊

I bet that platform is no fun in the winter/snow.

I wud love to do the Ghan and the Indian Pacific Austlalian train trips.
Then the Rocky Mountaineer
Hey Scott...why do U.S. trains drive on the left?
It seems crazy that they load between the tracks. Why don’t they have a platform on the other side?
Thats some beast !, I was on an historic steam locomotive at the weekend here in the uk.
Ooo awesome lucky you
did not realise Hawaii had no trains, learn something new every day !!
@@stuartlast8156 They're building one in Honolulu I think.
Train tracks are so much wider tv han ours here. Also if barrier arms were down for that long here there would be serious traffic blockage issues lol

I subscribe to Virtual Railfan on utube it’s fun to look at trains 🚂 & weather also thanks for video have a good one

Lol
Cool video
I wonder if it is a smooth ride at speed?

Nice town. Thanks for watching.
Oops Sorry I fell off, we are having a severe storm here and I had to go look at the clouds
I don't fly so when I go to Michigan
or Ga to visit family Amtrak is how I travel. Cafe car has the best hot dogs
maybe they should get a little golf cart for these guys - to make things faster

That’s lovely, they’re just like the ‘real’ thing, aren’t they, lol 😉
usa their train is 6 7 coaches train and only 40 50 passengers are travelling india their is only 1 coach of train 250 300 people are travelling
Amtrak needs to create a safer way how passengers exit and board the cars, that stool looks unsafe
Nice train video. You sure have a nack for doing videos right.
Haha, seriously? Which third world country is this? The train does not even stop a the platform but in the middle of nowhere. I totally love it. ⛄🍕
America needs raised platforms! How are disabled people meant to board those trains?
Good point.
