- Hey friends!
Join me on an incredible adventure as we chase the mesmerizing sunrise at Moraine Lake in Banff National Park. It's always an incredible experience, I promise!
We start this photography vlog before the crack of dawn, riding our bikes up to Moraine Lake around 1 am. Yeah, it was early, but trust me, it's totally worth it! The anticipation of witnessing the sun's first rays in the Canadian Rockies is pure magic. Plus, we managed to snag some awesome nighttime shots before the show began!
I'm super stoked about testing the low light capabilities of my new Canon R6 Mark II. This camera has been an absolute game-changer for me, and I can't wait to share my experience with you all. We'll dive deep into the world of low light photography and explore how the Canon R6 Mark II performs in this challenging setting.
Throughout this vlog, I'll walk you through the camera settings and composition techniques I use to capture stunning sunrise shots. Sunrise photography is all about patience and timing.
So, buckle up and get ready to witness the beauty of Moraine Lake at sunrise through the lens of the Canon R6 Mark II. I hope you'll learn something new and be inspired to take your photography to new heights!

So awesome !
Thanks Alexander!
So awesome! Worth no sleep!
haha it always is Lisa :)
What an incredible place to experience sunrise without the crowds and taking some bangers. I have to admit I felt a little homesick watching the video, I need to visit again soon.
You’ll have to come back sometime. Everyone comes back to Banff
Every time I see this lake I miss it...
I have a 2 by 1.6 m print of it in my office
You're the guy in Peter McKinnon's bucket list film!
Another Littlewood video just to make us all jealous. Seriously though, gorgeous work as always and I so want to get there and take some pics myself (though wouldn't be your quality).
they'll be back every single week from now on! and i'm sure you'd get some bangers out there!!
It will cost you, but stay for several nights at the Moraine Lake Hotel. You OWN the entire place for the time you are there after the hordes go home. Great rooms, great food too.

yeah it'd be nice but honestly i cant justify spending that amount of cash to stay there when i can just ride my bike up early
When your first pictures were taken before the sunrise around the 7:30 mark how long was it before the scheduled sunrise? I plan on going Aug 10 but can’t decide if the 5 am shuttle will be early enough or if I should take the 4am
It totally depends on the day. Sorry I didn’t get to this comment earlier but I hope you got a banger sunrise up there!!
@@matthewlittlewood was awesome but overcast! Caught the 4 am bus and was on top of Tower of Babel at about 5:45 for the 6:22 sunrise. Bus arrived around 4:30
Great vid!
What do you do for work Matthew?
thankyou.. actually right now i manage a bar so that i can stay in canada
Hey man! Just planned my first trip to banff and I’m hoping to get some great Astro stuff at Moraine lake too! I was just wondering what lens/focal length you usually end up using for this location? Much love and keep up the wonderful work :)
Usually rolling with 16-35mm 2.8 for astro.
Also do do astro up there you’ll have to ride bikes up the road cause busses don’t stay that late
#first lol
I mean I did film this back in may soooo
