Having worked at a European body shop for a few years, where I mostly worked on Porsche, BMW and Mercedes vehicles that were wrecked in Scottsdale, AZ, I can tell you the older Porsches tend to transfer energy less than the newer ones. Also, fit and finish wasn't nearly as fine as the 2000 and up models. It was still better than say, GM or Ford, but not the greatest. I used to love working on the air cooled Porsches, and the 993 was a favorite of mine. I would go with that one. It was clearly well cared for.
I would love to see you restore that 993! As a 993 owner, I'd look at the usual rust spots (window seals) and the door could be a bad check strap (common 993 issue). A manual conversion isn't super cheap but well within your abilities. New box, flywheel, $400 for a new tacho (manual), and the interior trim is the same (replace the plastic gate with a boot!). The front frame rail on the driver's side would be my only major concern w.r.t. that headlight damage. P.S. Happy to send you a bunch of ref material for 993 repair/issues to check through!
As everyone is already saying, it looks like the Miami blue goonzquad Porsche…. You’re changing just about the same amount of panels, roof and rear quarters plus suspension, if anyone can do it, you can! Love to see the project when it’s done, don’t keep us waiting to get on it fast! It should be a fun project, but you already know that!😎
No, I can assure you you want thr mechanical hood struts from rennline. They never were out and they hold up the hood better. Check them out, I've put them on my 79' 930 front and back and will be putting them on my 996TT when the hydraulic ones wear out.
18:47 yeah...just bought an old RX7 unseen...from the pictures and if would have been a modern car, it looked it needs a bumper and a fender...but both frame rails were badly bend :((
Honestly you've got to get it, I mean it's a classic with a Sunroof mxa stop playing and don't get me started with the rear OLD SCHOOL DUCKTAIL! Just get it.
Buy the 964 Targa and restromod it. Just like a Singer. Failing that the 993, however finding a manual for it will not be easy - plus 50-70k is crazy money.
The white Porsche with the fender damage and hood that can all be easily fixed those panels are very savable I was in the body shop business for 35 years I repaired some horrific wrecks
Collection sorted in a day 😂 That 993 looks like an easy fix. Problem might be the price ist will be go selling for. It’s a tip…that may reduce price a bit. The 964 are around the same price, or slightly more expensive here in Europe/Germany but 250 KMiles…... I would definitely go for the 993, many of those 993/964 have been imported back to Europe… a 993 here at German auction cost at least 30K$ but then completely smashed….
The blue Porsche 20,000$ top the green one looks like the hulk but 30,000$ the suv 18,000$ the old white one 13,000$ that the most I’ll pay for each one
Personally I would be careful and watch the price because used car prices are dropping like a rock so it depends on what you can get them for and of course part cost the 996 is a good option with the right price
It's gonna take a lot to fix the GT4 and it would depend on what you have to give to get it. I have a 2010 Cayman S and the powertrain is what I would want, but for how much and what else could I use. The 993 front has been pushed a bit to the passenger side, but if the money is right then that's the one to get; easy fix there.

Well that sounds right up my alley....
Never stop buying Porsches 🙏 this is top tier content!

Almost to 100k!! Proud of you guys and love your videos.
Easily becoming one of my favorite channels and local to the area
I genuinely love your optimism and enthusiasm.
My man cannot be stopped from these porsches!
That Taycan is straight Joker spec, have to watch out for Batman cruising that thing around. It's just weird enough for me to want it.
Came here to say the same thing! Joker spec for sure
993 for sure. Good investment. The air cooled cars are very desirable. Good luck. Happy Motoring!
Here we go again lol, great video as always. I would call the lee c parts forklift frame machine a special tool

It’s funny you say that, because I just put a set on my 997, you’ll see it in the next video!

That purple interior is incredible
18:47 yeah...just bought an old RX7 unseen...from the pictures and if would have been a modern car, it looked it needs a bumper and a fender...but both frame rails were badly bend :((
Honestly the blue one looks like goozsquads most recent build. They put quarters and Roof , fenders.. almost finished now.
Honestly you've got to get it, I mean it's a classic with a Sunroof mxa stop playing and don't get me started with the rear OLD SCHOOL DUCKTAIL! Just get it.
Macan. I'd love to use your video as a how-to for my son and me to rebuild one for my wife
993 all the way
Have you ever driven a 993 with auto? It's not that bad! Try one
Ive been told tiptronics are slug buckets
@John Swanson 993 Carrera is a very nice weekend cruiser, its not a car that you drive the living hell out every time you drive it
@@peggypeggan got it. More of a cruising car.
Buy the 964 Targa and restromod it. Just like a Singer. Failing that the 993, however finding a manual for it will not be easy - plus 50-70k is crazy money.

If we’re going for all of them I’m just gonna need a small loan from you, I’m in if you’re in 😉
@@scraplifegarage let’s go!! Lol
I will take that white 993.
The white Porsche with the fender damage and hood that can all be easily fixed those panels are very savable I was in the body shop business for 35 years I repaired some horrific wrecks

How do you get oem parts when Porsche only sells some to certified garages ?
Cayman GT4 - If you don't buy it, give it a couple of months and it will be in an Aurthur Tussik video and back to being as good as new.
Oh look 👀
Another Miami Blue Porsche rebuild... 🤣🤣🤣
Love
The 993 all day and every day 👊🏽

The blue Porsche 20,000$ top the green one looks like the hulk but 30,000$ the suv 18,000$ the old white one 13,000$ that the most I’ll pay for each one
"Doesn't perform as well as a plaid"??? Yeah right. On what planet? Maybe in a straight line, but that's the only way, and even that is very close.
White 993 manual is no brainer!
Gt followed by the tycan 👌
Blue 993 interiors are creme of the crop for me... If only it was a manual, but then it probably wouldn't be at auction truthfully.
Would have to be the GT4
993!
993 ❤
Dude please, cmon, do it, the 993, the Macau and ya, the ePorsche, do it….the trifecta series. Call it your Live, Love, Laugh collection, lol.
Macan GTS for me, very nice contant👍
get the 993
That GT4 is blasted. If you win it - put it next to the Demon. GT4 will look like new.
Re: Taycan. The Taycan, the Joker color combination?
How about a turbo S motor in a 993??? 😮😊
Definately the 993, just slap some paddle shifters on it.
993 sounds like it needs the valve guides overhauled (common rapid wear problem with those cars). That is expensive engine work.
Macan GTS but that EV very very tempting don’t like the interior color though 😞
Personally I would be careful and watch the price because used car prices are dropping like a rock so it depends on what you can get them for and of course part cost the 996 is a good option with the right price
All 993s need to be saved. Even the autos...a993 is my daily😊
the white one is the one to buy
Not bad for Porsches
993 and GTS
Gt4 engine 👍
I always call them "Porch's" because after a month you just sit on the porch and cry after the car breaks.
Pisses both sides off.
GT4 all the way.
As soon as he said radiators I was like wait a damn minute then he immediately chimed in and I was like ok ok.
GOTEM
Przepiękny zlom
Dude the 993 is the one to go, fix it, than fix It again doing a manual swap

993 Listen Not healthy
wear red oil light White porch
The 993
I have never seen green on purple, bu the Taycan looks like alot of superficial damage. Its looks like an easy fix dude.
