- believe it or not, I have actually taken the time to go around NYC to check these places out. For those who don't know, on the official banana fish guidebook, there is a map with highlighted locations around New York, and so, me being curious, I decided to check all of these places out. unfortunately, about three locations on the banana fish map, I was not able to visit for one of two reasons: either the location was very vague and so I cannot really pinpoint where exactly I should go, and/or the location was (for some reason) not exactly showing up on the map when I looked them up. I'm not usually one to revisit certain spots from anime, but with Banana Fish I had to just to see the way NY looks and the town Ash lived in, this anime has touched me, and I'll never forget it 💕

Just imagine you saw a blonde guy that looked like ash sitting outside and a guy that looked like eiji with. That would complete this whole thing. Banana fish was amazing and very emotional, it helped me realize and see what choices you pick in life and how they can really effect you. This was amazing, if I ever visit new york im definitely going to find these places. Thank you for this- 😭✨

This is such a nice video. Thank you so much for bringing this to us! It's so amazing to see these places in reality and in a sense revisit events in Banana Fish that are connected to it. Being grounded in an existing place at close time adds a great layer to our connection and feel towards it and the characters. I don't live in America but seeing this video this delights me. I really love how you had the parallels too, small but very pleasant! This was super cool, and I reckon the studio did these places justice, the resemblance is very accurate, I felt as if I dived into America in the anime! This right here is what I love about series that take inspiration from real places or take place in a set location. You can take pictures and compare them to the show and see how faithfully they adapted it. Just watching this made me picture Ash and Eiji just walking hand-in-hand down the street or having a picnic in the park or going ice skating. It's what they deserved.
