I fell down it a few months ago. Never thought I’d have as many keyboards as I do 😂

I had no idea the switches were soldered until this video. I've been thinking my fancy switch puller is garbage 🤣 thanks for the heads up. Sucks because i feel like the key feel is grainy and wanted to switch out the switches.... And it was a gift from my boss so i can't return it 😭😭😭

Yeah this is their budget version. They do sell another one, the K98, which is hot swappable and wireless

With even cheaper budget boards being hot swap, it's a major strike against this one that the switches are soldered...a year ago? Sure, sort of acceptable. To me, the aesthetics aren't enough to make up for missing a feature that so many others have at even lower prices in 2024...might be fine for some though.

I think they traded hot swap for better sound insulation to keep it at that price point. But I agree for some that prefer hot swap it’s a bummer, especially if a switch fails you can’t replace it.

@@MoonRiderTech I can sort of understand that reasoning, but man, the budget board space is getting pretty good lately, and you can find hot swap boards with plenty of foam/sound insulation, for around the same price, hell, sometimes a bit less, and certainly for not a lot more, so it's going to be a harder sell for some of these soldered switch boards unless they come with some very obvious standout feature.
