Ed opened the Divide Tour shows with this song. I can't describe the feeling of being among thousands of people jumping and singing this chorus together. To me this is one of those timeless songs that will always warm your heart.

I cried. Again. This song for me is SO nostalgic, I remember listening to it when was released, I was eating pizza on a restaurant with my friends… so it gives me good memories

Ed is our local boy done good - I’m from Suffolk, UK - and this castle on the hill is in Framlingham, Suffolk where Ed grew up and still lives.

Ed actually still lives in the same county he grew up in outside London. He also said that he tried living in LA for a while but hated it then left and returned home. He is very humble and makes music for the right reasons. The same with Harry Styles, he sold his LA home and now is back home living in England, LA isn't for everybody it's not all about sun and palm trees, it's an atmosphere of a place and home is always where your heart is. This is one of my fav Ed songs actually.

I can't even tell you how this was the first modern song that my 60 year old ex pat mother from Suffolk felt in her bones. It literally made her feel like she was home for a few minutes when she heard it. She came to Australia when she was 19 following my father who took a military job. She left her village her life and her family and this song made her feel home. We lost my dad to ptsd in 2006 so this song resonates with her even more since then. She misses home and him :(

You'll be listening to his music 20yrs from now I'm sure.
Completely original in everything he does & I'm PROUD HE'S FROM THE UK.
    GREAT REACTION.

I come from near the same place Ed grew up. Every time I go back there to visit friends and family, I put that song on full blast and I tear up every single time. Going back and seeing things that I remember messing around near with my brother and my friends is such an amazing feeling.

I cried when I first heard this song knowing that I'm far away from where I grew up, and everyone now is doing their own thing in life. mehn all the fun times we had all the bad moves we made, and I'm not even that old but we did a lot in those years that makes the memories fond it brings back nostalgic moments for me, and I cried again knowing that one of my close childhood frnd passed away earlier this year due to heart condition, and she was too young just turned 18😢😢

Ed said "This is a love song for Suffolk, because I don't think anyone has ever done that." I’m from Suffolk but have lived in USA for over 30 years. I haven’t been back in years and this song makes me feel homesick. Ed is one in a million in how he can make each song mean so much to everyone.

I love this song so much. For a start, I think his voice sounds the best in this song, it fits it so well. Also, I also live in Suffolk and relate to it so much, it's so amazing. Can't wait to here it live this year.

After his friend and mentor Michael Gadinski died (which "visiting hours" was written for) he changed the lyrics from "I was younger then" to "WE were younger then " as Michael always got the lyrics wrong when he sang it. Check out Eds live performance of Michael Gadinski State Memorial Service where he shares this and other stories.

I’m so upset that the UK music world snubbed him on the Brit awards….rumor has it that the biggest UK radio station has a new owner that is gay
And 8 yrs ago James made a gay slur….he apologized. I’m a fan in the JA fan club and that is what the Brit’s are saying. James is the most passionate lyrical genius with his awesome voice .
