Thank you for this tutorial! It is very useful. I just found a problem. I want to do the data validation with the name of my files. They way you show at end of the video. But when I select it to place Source, always pop up a window saying:
This type of reference cannot be used in a data validation formula.
Change the reference to single cell, or use the reference with a worksheet function, such as= SUM(A1:E5).
What do you recommend to do. Or should I make a new column with numbers? Thank you.

This is very helpful to me. I was able to create it too perfectly. But, what I need next is to make a copy of this improvised system to other computer. I perfectly understand that I have to change the path file where it will get the files I need. But still it doesn't work with MacBook. Do you have an idea if the path file in Windows OS and MacBook path file can work in excel the same?
How will I know if a certain off file is missing , can the hyperlink formula have an exception to return file not found ?

Is there any option for remain blank or not applicable if no pdf copy
What if I want to grab text from each file and place on the current sheet. Example. Let's say all these files destination has 1 row with person name or number and 2nd column has another text or number. I want to the excel copy the row from each file and place on the current. It's like I am colating all the employees in the current sheet(combined staff). So employee 1 would be on row 1, employee 2 would be on row2 and forth. After all is colated. I will have values to count that is on column 2, row 1 or row 2 and so forth. Can you do a video like that. It's just like I am opening each file copying the whole row 1 and pasting on a next workbook.

So why does excel change my link from C:\myfiles to roaming app data roaming appdata roummaing app data users roaming users whatever why on earth cant I put a link in excel and have it stay to the link I put I just can not fathom why this is the way it is !
