DIY POWERFUL DC TO DC BOOST CONVERTER WITH UC3843

- Hello guys, today in this video i have showed you a very simple dc to dc boost converter based on popular UC3843 IC. The input voltage of this boost converter is from 10v to 24v and the output voltage can be adjusted between 10v to 30v. The most important thing to notice is its inductor and output filter capacitor. The output filter capacitor should have very low internal resistance otherwise the circuit will not work properly. The more you take the value of the output capacitor the better it is. While winding the inductor make sure to wind it tightly otherwise it will make unwanted noise. I have used IRFZ44 MOSFET. You can use any N channel MOSFET and for the diode i have used MBR20100 diode and you can use any Schottky diode from an old ATX power supply and also don't forgot insulate the MOSFET and the diode from the heat sink. The power of this boost converter is around 80w which can be easily increased. The main thing is its efficiency which is above 80%. I have used an inductor from an old ATX power supply with an outer diameter of 24mm, inner diameter of 14mm and a height of 9mm.
THANKS FOR WATCHING THE VIDEO. HAVE A NICE DAY :D

Thanku very much 😄😄😄
Nice job!!!! You are always good at it.
Thanks 😊
Awesome work with great consistency.
Thanks :D
Good job. Keep it up.
Thanks 😊
Keep it up.
thanks :)
Hello, Best one I've seen. (With Feedback Fix) I will try it out. Soon as I get the UC3843 chip. Many thanks. Graham Bundaberg..
Thank you very much bro 😃😀😃☺️☺️☺️
Very nice 👍
Thanks 😊
Tks, friend!
Welcome 😄😄
Very good job
Thanks 😊😄
Wow its nice🥰
Thanks 😊
Thank you frind you are engele
Very good
Thanks 🤗🤗
Thank you very much sir, but my question is what is the value of starting resistor, or should I just connect diode across it as shown in your diagram?
This circut work at 12v so you dont need any starting resistor. i have used that diode just as a reverse polarity protection 😆😁😁
@@kdcreativity6201 but, sir I don't think uc3843 will work with direct 12v without starting resistor or zener diode to supply the current needed by the pin 7 of the ic,
Although I will try it again
@@chibuzoeze4225 why not it will work with direct 12v.The vcc and the gnd pin of the ic is directly connected to the input
@@kdcreativity6201 OK,
good work bro ! kindly make buck-boost 48 volt input and 14 output Max amp 40
Thanks. I will soon make a buck boost converter 😃
Thank you very much
Welcome bro 🤭😄
Hello, I made the circuit and it gives output, but when I connect a 50W lamp, the paths are burning. What should I do?
Please you have done good job But how can your subscribers build or try this circuit if you did not show the diagram???
Thanks. I always give the circuit diagram with the pcb layout in my video description ;)
🎆🎆🎆 keep it up bro
Thanks very much :D
I want to step down 24v battery voltages to 12v. And load is 12v , 2 ampere. Plz guide me that will this cct efficient for this scenario?
It’s a buck converter. The output voltage is lower than the input voltage
Hello Sir... me again... 🤭
The mosfet IRF44n spec is 55V-49A. And I think your circuit have constant voltage (CV) features, wich set by 20K variable resistor.
1. How to drive more current at your circuit? (Of course we need good cooling system)
2. How to control current with variable resistor so we have constant current?
For higher current, use more power mosfet and if you need to control the current then you have to modify the circuit a lot
@@kdcreativity6201 how much the max power of this circuit?(Because IRF44n max.49A)
@@oprekboy9693 I’ll recommend to use the circuit under 80W if using IRFZ44
@@kdcreativity6201 thank you... 🙏👍
Dear Sir, I have schematic diagram with UCx842, pin3 (Isense) connected to center pin of 5K trimpot other pin to ground and emitor of NPN transistor.
Is UCx842 the same as UC3843?
On a specific voltage setting, like if set 24V at output when input is 12V, now if increases input 12v to 14V it's output will increase also?????
No. The voltage will not increase because the circuit has feedback system 😆
Can made a video how make buck converter for solar panel
Ya sure 😋
Plz make a video on 24 v input to 12 volt output buck converter
But looks like output is short with input, no any other semiconductor is involved except shotkey. .... In the cct. Plz explain.
The drain of the mosfet is also connected. You can see the working of a boost converter, there are lots of videos
And kindly plz guide me can I use this cct as 24 v bty voltage step down?
24v to 12v ?
Can you make a video on making of buck converter?
Yes. Please checkout my latest video
Architecture bro
Yes
Hi, how to increase the power beyond 80W? Thanks.
Use more powerful mosfet and inductor
@@kdcreativity6201 IRF44n have max 49A at 55V. Why we need more powerful mosfet?
Does it work with 3.7v input?
Minimum 10v
Sir make a video on buck converter
I have already made one but I will make a more powerful one very soon
Does it get hot on high current ?
The mosfet gets a bit hot on higher current. Thanks for watching :)
@@kdcreativity6201 I made mppt buck boost one b4 but it's getting warm even if I use high current MOSFETs (irf1404) I don't know why ..
@@aboimad5178It is obvious for a mosfet to get heated and another reason could be high RDS
@@kdcreativity6201 thank you for the fast reply my friend
Bro u r not understanding my question. My question is that if input is 24 v , then can we get same 12 volt?
Bro i made it but the mosfet was shorted continuously after giving a output voltage of 12v to 15v, but it takes input voltage of 12v
What can i do please help
Please check the components and the connection
Ok bro thanks
Please make a project on dc to dc buck boost converter
Ok
Load se kitna effect pdega o/p voltage pe
The output voltage drops around 2-3v
What is the diameter of the toroid core??
24mm
How to increase amp and for this whice components is change?
use more powerful mosfet like IRF3205, use 2 x 1.2mm wire for the inductor and increase the value of output capacitor😄😄
How ampere support
~6A max
Hi, in the video setup, how many amps in and out can it handle? Thanks.
Input 6A and output 4A. But it can be increased easily 😃
