Dean in regards to the window with the three quarter , you could have done broken bond and had a double head in the wall and got a stretcher up the reveal to keep it all true, it does say this in the Nash books…

100% that is the correct way mate …but on the front existing they went 3/4 so we decided to match where ever there is broken bond

    Hello Dean,
I’m a sparky from the U.S, love watching the work you do and the passion you show. We don’t have a lot of brick layers out here it’s all lumber framing so watching what you do is fascinating to me. Take care and thanks for sharing!

i think your wrong nash said nothing smaller than a header in any wall other than corners where using a queens closer three quarters would have been the answer nash was also a teacher at southampton collage he may not have been the sage of brickwork but he's all we had ,not a dig but what's right is right

You banged it on the head, im on a new build flemish bond job (110 house) with 72.5 mm gauge so there are 29 to head of frame. They want the corners started with a 3/4 (this has come from the main man) when i first started i said this isn't flemish, it looks crap!! It could of been such a good job and the office have fu@#ed it!!

I have seen so many old buildings where the bonding makes little sense I kind of wonder if it matters as long as it's not straight. My home town found the only proof of a man crucified by the romans, the houses are all bonded different.
