I have studied Japanese and Vietnamese. Spoken Vietnamese is tonal, like Chinese, with comparatively little gramatical structure, unlike Japanese, which has a structured grammar, which as an English speaker, I find easier. Both Japanese and Chinese employ kangi in their writing systems, but Japanese has a syllabry, which obviates the need to memorize thousands of kangi in order to communicate in writing. The tonal dependent spoken word is very difficult for an English speaker. I know nothing about Korean.
For me, Korean was the hardest and Chinese feels easiest. I'm studying Japanese too, but I'm about to start over from the beginning because it's hard 😂. Japanese pronunciation is much easier than Chinese, but I am able to create sentences in Chinese after only a few weeks of studying
Every language is difficult until you learn it
