Trust me, get his CD "Earth Tones"... I listen to it regularly and never get tired of it. It seems to get better! Truly hypnotic, off the hook, magical playing.

his playing is about as close you can get to perfect , its what the banjo should sound like ... :O using the thumb string to the greatest effect to create layered polyphonic sounds ....with a melodic lead
Yaaayy! Finaly I can play this one! Or so I thought...Back listening to this master playing the tune again, I feel I should really go back to relearn the tune again..and come back in 10 years or so haha :)
Yep... I hear ya... have the same feelin'... think i can "play it", but there is no much nuance and musicianship in Adam's playin'... got miles t' go fer sure.
Man, no one but Adam Hurt makes a gourd sound like that! Beautiful.
Traversing the continuum from top-notch musicianship to pure artistry to sheer magic.

Its been 8 years now. You got it down yet?
@@viibrii Haha, nahh not as Adam is playing it, not even close :/
thank u it sounds awesome!
The wee gourd pot is just too cool.
It's a variant of sawmill tuning but the 5th string is tuned a step low, essential to get the sound he's getting.
Fantastic!! Is it sawmill tuning? Found this version by recomendation from "Silasbanjo" and I'm just as hooked about this tune as he is now!!
Anyone who knows where to find tab för Adam's version? Finding it really difficult to grasp what he is doing :(
Does anybody know the maker of this banjo?
Yep... it's David Hyatt in Fayetteville, Arkansas.
It really has a wonderful tone that Adam fleshes out.
FRETLESS BANJO?!?!?!
QRs666, I have the tabs, written by Adam in banjo newsletter a couple of years ago. Send me your e mail and I'll send them to you
