Polan yeah but he wasn't like I'm the best I crossed over jordan blah blah blah. No he was like I hit michael with my best move and he still almost got me that's how good jorda was
+Acrossover707 Truth be told that season Iverson averaged 38points against the bulls. His crossover is the best. He is just being humble cuz AI torched the league cuz he was so quick plus he could shoot for days. If he didn't get black balled he would be in the top tier scorers all time.
The analytical breakdown of the move, including animation, is an awesome tool for teaching younger players. Having anecdotal commentary by well known players lends i authenticity. A series like this would be an invaluable resource to coaches all over the country.
Iverson will always live on in my heart as one of the best players EVER in the history of the NBA. It's amazing how despite crossing up MJ, he will still find a way to give credit to how good Jordan was as a defensive player.
The part that comes naturally to these legends is their ability to read the defender. A.I. shed some light on it when he was talking about MJ. But the effectiveness of a crossover is not only the technique, but the instincts and (the read) as well.
+GRIDSALEENS7 Its definitely a fact that Chris Paul is a great ball handler but he doesn't use all of the moves that he has as much because he is a pass first point guard. I'd say Kyrie Irving is a unbelievable ball handler because of how often he uses ball handling in his game to either get to the basket or to create space for his jumpshot. But hands down Kyrie and CP3 are the best ball handlers in the game.
Tim Hardaway's cross was the BEST, hands down, period, end of story. He could do it at full speed either way, between the legs as quick as anyone who's played the game. . Plus he was just so damn quick with the ball and he had a compact body that helped too. He rarely carried the ball when he did it unlike Iverson who carried it damn near every play.
I LOVE IVERSON FOR GIVING THAT SHOUTOUT FOR MJ's DEFENSE! wow... he could have taken all of the glory and say that that crossover was light.. wow, humble
Allen mentions Dean Berry who was a Hoya teammate but the person Dean watched and Allen eventually was victimized by the worst was Martyn "Moochie" Noris who all DC hoop heads knew long before his Houston Rocket days. Dr. Joe Carr use to run open gym at Maret HS for local pro, college and HS stars to get it in and it was here that Moochie's Krypton Crossover was on display for all to marvel at. Allen couldnt do anything with it for awhile and eventually the two of them started playing together on the same team and for months no one else could win a game...Moochie did an instructional video while at Odessa CC tittled "The Proper Execution of the Crossover Dribble." His was just one of many successful forms of the crossover but we DC folks loved watching him use it...
M M was my era and we didn't worry so much about tricky names for moves bavk then, lol. He was definitely very creative with his crossover move and used the big stage of the Urban Coalition to embaress many a defender.
Lyric lmao. You fools can't be serious. He don't cross anybody like AI did. Over son got Jordan and like every other superstar of his day. Kyrie busts weak cats like Brandon knight. You young bucks some stupid fucks I swear
D Wade hit it on the head. AI's crossover is the easier one to do (extremely effective) but it's borderline carrying the ball. You pretty much have to carry the ball in order to lean that hard to one side with one dribble. Tim Hardaway's crossover is the hardest to pull off but also the most legitimate, his crossover is all about how quick you are, how fast can you dribble the ball to one side and even more quickly bring it back to the other. In my eyes, Tim Hardaway is the pioneer of the crossover.
Grip shouldn't have anything to do with a crossover. If you're quick you should be able to beat your defender using your agility on a crossover. If you need more grip on the ball that just tells me you're holding the ball longer than needed on a dribble.
ai has the best crossover ever, he really has, and i love it that he says that he has the best thats not arrogance, thats believing in yourself... my favorite player of all time...
lol the Howard houses where pearl Washington lived looks almost exact to the the ones that my (my player) lived in during the beginning of the game in 2k 16 living the dream.
I know, bruh. They don't give him enough credit or his back court mate, cool Joe d, for using the bounce to get past bigger defenders. They paved the way.
Creating unique crossover techniques require extensive experimentation with the human bodies ability to extend its motion, I been working hard on such things for years. Maybe came close to achieving what Allen Iverson stated towards the end, and who knows what the future holds for some lucky B-ball drilling fool like myself. Awesome video, I hope to improve on my game and maybe even make the NBA some day, it would be nice! Tim Hardaway was my idol growing up! I do admire Allen's drive though.
Speed, quickness, but most of all change of direction in an explosive manner. I love seeing people argue about individual assets that make an explosive crossover. It's ALL if them. Change if direction for getting by people, which is what guys like Jamal Crawford do, then speed and explosiveness.
Lol. AI put a team on his back to the finals. Kyrie can passed the 1st round, hell he can't get in the playoffs in the weak east. Kyrie has a long ways to go to be close to AI. He needs to learn to play d and pass. Hopefully lebron can help with that.
The best thing about A.I's crossover was he added that bit of swagger in it. He could purely shake off his opponents with that extra bit of swagger...and the fact that he took big steps in performing the crossover which broke many an ankle.
They should make a video like this for every aspect of the game. The best three point shooters, fade away shooters, dunkers, defenders, etc. I would put every last one of them in a playlist.
Actually, I helped them with their rehab, they all were completely dedicated, its still extremely tough to come back from a torn ACL, a lot of athletes can't even come back from it. And I know breaking is better than fracturing, same as a twist is better than a sprain. You can't guarantee anything lol. And lets be honest, all injuries do heal, but a lot of them will end people's careers, ACL tears, broken bones, torn rotator cuffs, etc.
I gotta Iverson props for given Jordan props. "I hit him with my best move and he still almost blocked it." Coming from a man that had one of the most deadly crossovers -not to mention the fact that he doubled it- in the game. That's respect.
I'd just like to add that Oscar Robertson used to do in the in-and-out crossover in the 60's. So he deserves a some credit when talking about the origins of the move. I don't know beyond that though.
I love how Iverson is so humble about crossing over Jordan.
then he proceeds to say he has the best crossover ever hahaha
Polan yeah but he wasn't like I'm the best I crossed over jordan blah blah blah. No he was like I hit michael with my best move and he still almost got me that's how good jorda was
Acrossover707 That's some sportsmanship :). Confident yet acknowledge other good players.
+Acrossover707 Truth be told that season Iverson averaged 38points against the bulls. His crossover is the best. He is just being humble cuz AI torched the league cuz he was so quick plus he could shoot for days. If he didn't get black balled he would be in the top tier scorers all time.
+Acrossover707 LOL
Crazy that Iverson even practiced the crossover_ thought he did not practice!!
LOL.
He talkin bout practice.
everybody practices to master an act...
The analytical breakdown of the move, including animation, is an awesome tool for teaching younger players. Having anecdotal commentary by well known players lends i authenticity. A series like this would be an invaluable resource to coaches all over the country.
I think that's awesome that, even though he crossed him up, he still gave MJ props on how good he played defense.
yea I agree
Iverson will always live on in my heart as one of the best players EVER in the history of the NBA. It's amazing how despite crossing up MJ, he will still find a way to give credit to how good Jordan was as a defensive player.
Amazing basketball move. Thanks for sharing Idol. Full watching
Kyrie Irving was the person AI was talking about and he ain't even know it
I was thinking the same thing
I loved how Iverson talks about crossing over Jordan and then gives him credit for almost blocking him.
And Jordan is 6 inches taller that's why he was close
+Boss G he didnt bite too much one way
lmao phil yelling GET UP ON EM!
What was so great about AI's crossover was that it pulled you in to break your ankles! That move played the defensive player as bait.
love Allen Iverson!!! He's so cute and respectful talking about other players. especially MJ. With all the years past, he is a humble man :)
The part that comes naturally to these legends is their ability to read the defender. A.I. shed some light on it when he was talking about MJ. But the effectiveness of a crossover is not only the technique, but the instincts and (the read) as well.
Having the best crossover and being the best ball handler are too different things. I know today no one controls the rock better than Chris Paul.
+HPM Royale
Isiah had a nasty crossover, too.
Hardaway was crossing folks over on da fast break
I LOVE IVERSON FOR GIVING THAT SHOUTOUT FOR MJ's DEFENSE! wow... he could have taken all of the glory and say that that crossover was light.. wow, humble
0:32, I just hate how that guys acts like AI did a violation just for him not to get embarrased. pss
Allen mentions Dean Berry who was a Hoya teammate but the person Dean watched and Allen eventually was victimized by the worst was Martyn "Moochie" Noris who all DC hoop heads knew long before his Houston Rocket days. Right. DC was doing that crossover since the 80's.
When AI said that someone better would come along did anyone else think of Kyrie?
no
Jamal Crawford or steph curry
That boy said Stephen Curry😂😂😂😂
If you're laughing at Steph you must not watch the NBA ..
Lyric lmao. You fools can't be serious. He don't cross anybody like AI did. Over son got Jordan and like every other superstar of his day. Kyrie busts weak cats like Brandon knight. You young bucks some stupid fucks I swear
I like that they paid respect to the first guys that did it...and who knows, there may have been others before THAT! Good video.
At the end ai means kyrie irving
Agree with you..
hell yeah
I think Jonathan McGriff is gonna be a problem when he gets to the league
kyrie has amazing handles but no chance he has a better crossover than AI, u trippin 😂😂
Andre Dd i know right
Downright amazing man. Excellent video upload!
D Wade hit it on the head. AI's crossover is the easier one to do (extremely effective) but it's borderline carrying the ball. You just have to have more grip on the ball.. It's about your fingertips' touch on the ball, AI and Kyrie do it best.
Grip shouldn't have anything to do with a crossover. If you're quick you should be able to beat your defender using your agility on a crossover. If you need more grip on the ball that just tells me you're holding the ball longer than needed on a dribble.
agreed. I love how he gave jordan respect, but I also liked how at the end he claimed that there would be someone better later as well
danm no one mentioned jamal crawford
Jaycob Merritt Jamal Crawford is known for the shake and bake which is a completely different move.
ai has the best crossover ever, he really has, and i love it that he says that he has the best thats not arrogance, thats believing in yourself... my favorite player of all time...
Even though Jordan got 'crossed' by AI, he still almost blocked the shot.
It just proves how great of a defender Jordan is.
Didn't AI just say that? no need to repeat his exact words sir.
Anthony Achille
Well, I didn't know that AI said that before. If I was just repeating his words, then fine. What's the big deal?
so you didn't watch the video?
Everyone almost gets their shot almost block. Basketball like all sports is a game of inches.
Who gives a fuck he just crossed him, end of story
lol the Howard houses where pearl Washington lived looks almost exact to the the ones that my (my player) lived in during the beginning of the game in 2k 16 living the dream.
"The best thing about it is, I hit him with my best move, And he almost blocked it."
best crossover EVER BY FAR Allen !!
0:33 Allen Iverson cross you don't act like it was foul
ikr I'm like wtf
AMAZINGLY WELL PUT TOGETHER VIDEO. PLEASE MORE
Kyrie has the best in the game right now IMO.
in ur dreams
+Gwyn Acut than who?
He doesnt really have a lethal crossover but an array of moves--change of direction. But a single lethal crossover not really.
dubnessIII I like how well cp3 handles the ball and how little he turns the ball over with it. ppl rarely take the ball away from him
That's true. He has great ball security
awesome little short
chris paul, kyrie irving, stephan curry are the top 3 best handlers in my opinion
that's more of a fact that an opinion lol those dudes ARE the best ball handlers in the NBA.
Kyrie is on a higher level on ball handling but as far as crossovers go.. allen iverson still takes the prize. nuff said.
i would put Jamaal Crawford instead of Paul
Gregory Castillo yeah but tim hardaway and allen iverson are the two best handlers
Jumson Casimir Am confused you said Paul, Irving, and Curry were best handlers? You have Iverson and Hardaway all time?
I love how humble iverson showing his respect to jordan .. as a great defender
Dwade is just as good as LeBron to me
Grabe! How Great!
6:04 Kyrie
you're high
+Black Petunia
you mean high-rie?
+Alec Ober Yeah, Kyrie's pretty good with handles, but crossovers? We're talking about J-Crossover.
On the real Shaq had a nasty crossover.
Killer crossover is so sick!
Where are the true innovators before pearl? Pistol Pete, Nate Archibald, and that real dude, Isiah "Zek" Thomas?
For reals. To me Isaiah started it all. His handle was stupid. He was doing iverson before he was. Best little man to ever play and a champion twice
I know, bruh. They don't give him enough credit or his back court mate, cool Joe d, for using the bounce to get past bigger defenders. They paved the way.
Kenny Anderson was a bad dude too. Also Kevin Johnson but he don't get enough credit either.
Yup yup
Tim Hardaway had the best crossover!
K.I will be the next A.I
no he wont
Yes kyrie is beadt
what about Jamal Crawford?
kyrie is overrated
LOL no hes not, hes only 22 watch him play this season :P
Creating unique crossover techniques require extensive experimentation with the human bodies ability to extend its motion, I been working hard on such things for years. Tim Hardaway was my idol growing up! I do admire Allen's drive though.
Iverson predicted Kyrie
+Gavin Thompson kyrie is a wizard. just like iverson.
Isn't it wonderful thing to watch how he brags about his move and at the same time also holds respect to the other player. My man AI!
Kyrie or A.I
Ai
Kyrie brah defs
Lol easy, AI by a mile.
AI one of my favorites from back in the day haha
Kyrie got the handles tho
Speed, quickness, but most of all change of direction in an explosive manner. I love seeing people argue about individual assets that make an explosive crossover. It's ALL if them. Change if direction for getting by people, which is what guys like Jamal Crawford do, then speed and explosiveness.
the student cant beat the teacher.....? You is Dean Berry again?
What?
Wtf Did you just say?
it was a typo lol
"The move was so vicious, I had to ask him." haha
r
Lol. AI put a team on his back to the finals. Kyrie can passed the 1st round, hell he can't get in the playoffs in the weak east. Kyrie has a long ways to go to be close to AI. He needs to learn to play d and pass. Hopefully lebron can help with that.
when it comes to crossovers and ball handling they are comparable. but I agree, he is nowhere near A.I. yet. he needs growth. but he is young.
Therman Merman
Idk man. A.I was dominant even as a rookie, whereas Kyrie still isn't as good as A.I was as a rookie.

5:11 .. What could that call possibly be for you to be arguing at the ref like that? LOOOOOL
They should make a video like this for every aspect of the game. The best three point shooters, fade away shooters, dunkers, defenders, etc. I would put every last one of them in a playlist.
No-one has ever, or will, come close to producing the crossovers dished out by Allen Iverson. His crossovers were on a whole another level.
favorite part is the look on the faces of the players after getting crossed up haha "you just got crossed the f*** up"! -chris tucker voice
Great presentation, thanks.
Great Great Great video
Wow, that's what I call quality video!
Great video, great explanations.
same here...i just stay on d same spot n just wait till they REALLY try to go left, right or up
Actually, I helped them with their rehab, they all were completely dedicated, its still extremely tough to come back from a torn ACL, a lot of athletes can't even come back from it. A.I was a beast watching him play live
I wish they had a video of Dean Berry & his crossover!...
Jason Williams crossover was sick ...dude had handles
Great video AI has it the best!!!
much respect to AI talking about MJ defense
yeah, thought that too.... the guy is as modest as awesome
awesome vid !
there is no doubt tim hardaway has the best crossover ever so quick and hard as hell to do the way he does it
dope video
great video....i think....D Rose...Hardaway..and Iverson has the best..not in any particular order..but them boys will have u dancing.
this is the awsome crossover
Killer crossover!
i like how A.I still respected michael even after the crossover. Like how he said he hit him with his best move and he still almost got blocked.
great video
Nice to see a happy inverson. Wonder if he's still out there crossin people.
i always loved tim hardaways cross.
DEAN BERRY! My dude use to practice all day on the block with it. /C\
A.I !! King of Crossovers!
Trevor Dunbar I the next best ankle breaker, he has some sick moves, can't wait to see him in the NBA
That little animated thing looks hilarious, amazing how we can do that though
I gotta Iverson props for given Jordan props. "I hit him with my best move and he still almost blocked it." Coming from a man that had one of the most deadly crossovers -not to mention the fact that he doubled it- in the game. That's respect.
That's how effective the crossover is. If you master it, you'll even get by the best defenders.
this was uploaded on my b-day I was 15 when this video released
Heat nation lives on! 2 former Heat players, and one current
Best reply ever!
OH SHIT!! A.I had him break dancing
Too legit, too legit to quit, hay hay.
iverson is the best for me second hardway so affected move i try this all they long
kyrie perfected the classic :)
One of the coolest move in basketball.
Yo eyebrow started the crossover !!
To be a great crossover artist, you also need the hand size. That is what I lack so 6/10 crossovers I would lose control a bit lol
Iverson has a key to the fountain of youth. The man dont know how to age.
haha that animation at the beginning is a travel!!!
Dwade speaks the truth. Yep Timm Hardaway is so hard to do. Only a few have tried it. Steve Francis probably was the last one that was successful.
I'd just like to add that Oscar Robertson used to do in the in-and-out crossover in the 60's. So he deserves a some credit when talking about the origins of the move. I don't know beyond that though.
0:24 made the dude fall down twice with one crossover..!! Damn
I like how Allen doesn't make it about himself. Thats a real player right there
Hell ya , He Is Ah Beast , We'll See Wen He Get There Doh
allen iverson is a beast at crossovers thats the truth
I like dat ai was humble about his crossever on mj
