I’ve been using the Soelpec XR for 9 months now. It is totally faultless! It’s never had an issue and it’s also very VR friendly with its button layout and sculptured surrounds. It’s a forever wheel.
I've been using the Soelpec DDU for a while and it is a wonderful addition to my race rig. I too like to have a seperate wheel and dash so I waited a while and now your dream has come true. They announced a screenless wheel that is the same wheel without the screen. I have ordered one and will have the separate wheel and screen of my dreams :) Thanks for the review and enjoyed the style! PS: I'm not rich but retired with enough to indulge myself with my main hobby and still have plenty to live on. For me, Lucky is a better word than rich. Thanks again and I own about 6 wheels so I understand your passion for them!!
This comment made me happy. It’s amazing to be able to enjoy this hobby in an unapologetic way. You worked hard for it. Enjoy it. The price per hour is far lower than a holiday or going out for a meal ;)
Great review. I have been using this wheel from the week it went on sale. It arrived in New Zealand from Istanbul in 4 days. What a wheel! It has replaced a Cube Controls CSX3 and good that that wheel is, the SOELPEC is on another level. Better diameter and screen but the big thing is. It just works! Straight out of the box. It is at this point in time perfection.
@@albey1816 Jeez I can’t recall now. I bought it direct from them so there was no VAT and the shipping was very reasonable and fast. Had to pay GST at this end.
Nice review Laurence 👍🏻 I very nearly went for this wheel as I preferred the look and larger screen size over the GSI wheels, but ultimately purchased the Grid MPX V2 last week 😀
hello mate, another great video. temping as ever with how you put these videos across.. wondering if you have covered the GSI Hyper P1 or the BST Omega Pro?
Thanks! I haven't reviewed those. If you'd like me to, it's best to ask the companies if they want to work with me. I don't ask companies for products because I bet they're sick of people wanting 'free stuff'. It means a lot more when the community genuinely wants the company to engage with me.
Seems like a great wheel. Love the look and functionality available. If they made one without the screen I would be more interested. I run VR, so the screen isn't of big use to me
If I could afford a wheel this much. It would be a toss up between this and GSI more than likely. Would love to see a comparison between the two. Pros and cons.
Nice reveiw and while I disagree it is only a wheel for "rich people" the price does make it a upper mid tier purchase, and a lot of folks would be hesitant to take a chance at that price.
It’s kind of a joke because usually when I review hardware like this, the comments are all from people who the product isn’t aimed at. So I tried to make it clear that this product is only for those with money to burn :)
@@LaurenceDusoswa No understood Iv'e only been in sim racing a few years and Iv'e notice that if something is over a couple hundred bucks the "It's for rich people" trope comes out I always found it amusing...again great reveiw.
I asked Dan to measure the output of the Asetek QR and at 1.4A the voltage drops to 4.5V, so you might have problems with power hungry wheels. Feels bad when companies cheap out on specific stuff that reviewers won't talk about...
I tend not to check the display mid corner. For me it’s just a smaller movement of the DDU is closer to my screen as I look less far away from the next apex 😂
I’m good :) for my long term reviews, I’m never in them. This channel is a part time hobby for me so I make content when I can. I have a full time job and two young kids. I’m happy and healthy though :)
@@LaurenceDusoswa 😅🤣🤣🤣 No problem Laurence... but no 😂😂. My comment is gone, with the editing bug, when google translated the youtube page... I can't take it anymore, they're tiring me out 😅
Yep I knew the price would get some people. That’s why I put the title like this. It’s not for everyone. But this is still a cheap hobby compared to golf or cycling or photography :)
@@LaurenceDusoswa I mean come on, I'm no stranger to spending a few quid on a good wheel, I have the Moza GS and FSR wheels, both of which combined cost less than this thing.
We aren’t subscribed and only watch because no one really cares for single items that cost $1500 plus! You can buy a whole setup and rig for the price of one wheel. People want items reviewed we can afford not dream of! And easy to say it the best rim when you get it for free and color scheme you wanted lol! We would all love it to for free!
Speak for yourself, I nearly bought this wheel but opted for a competitor’s wheel instead… I’m not interested in cheap sim racing hardware as my wallet is large, so I really enjoyed the review, and Boosted Media’s 😀
Yeah, unfortunately the world is full of folks with more money than sense that are absolutely looking for reviews like this on RUclips. The affordable stuff gets plenty of reviewer attention and there's nothing wrong with those reviewers creating content for the cutting edge stuff. Whatever it is and however expensive it may be, you can guarantee that there are a lot more people in the market for it than you would imagine. see: whales in mobile gaming.
If I worked as many hours as I did for my review, just doing other stuff like making websites, I could have bought two of these. So if you think it’s financially motivated then you’re pretty mistaken. The reality is that this is the type of product that I would be in the market for if I was buying. That’s why I started reviewing in the first place. If you want low budget stuff and mods, maybe every now and then I cover it but this is not that type of channel unless the item or mod is super interesting. Saying that I got it for ‘free’ is pretty insulting considering a) the work I put in and b) the fact that I never sell hardware. The hardware is just a tool for the job. But please feel free to suggest budget hardware that you want to see here. I’ve got the Simagic gt Neo coming up. To e moza shifter and handbrake. And a few other more affordable pieces, but they’re still far from cheap.
Yep. You’re completely right. This channel isn’t about catering to the masses really. It’s about sharing my hobby the way I want to enjoy it. It’s difficult to get that through to some people though.
You can get a great and affordable experience with a phone for sure. That’s not the point of this video though. Porsches and Lamborghinis exist too and just do the same job as a Prius. But it’s also very different
@LaurenceDusoswa don't get me started on cars, the evolution we lost ON EVERYTHING based on freaking lies grrrrrrr....ok so uh the wheel is made wonderfully and you did say "Rich People" You gotta do more videos, I love your info.
Yeah hahaha I wanted it to be clear that you need to be rich to own one of these. But that triggers some people who think that their main reason for not owning something like this is that they “don’t want to”
