I live in Eastbourne, a few minutes walk from where this journey started, and I make this journey four times each week, (alighting at Newhaven). The Coaster Bus 13X also travels between Eastbourne and Brighton, but takes a somewhat different route, via the well known Beachy Head, and Birling Gap, and is a very pleasant journey. Also worth mentioning is the Stagecoach 98 bus, which runs between Eastbourne and Hastings, travelling via Hailsham, and Herstmonceux. This is also a very enjoyable run.
What beautiful countryside! I have visited the UK several times and always enjoyed riding the buses, especially in Cambridgeshire. Sadly with Covid and age, I doubt that I will get to travel that far again. But now I've found a way to still enjoy the English countryside. Thank you very much. Alan from Tasmania.
great addition/alternative to our to our tv resources. My sister-in-law living in Victoria BC texted me saying "i've just spent 3 hours"on the busses"!
While I do enjoy your London trips, I find these rural videos mesmerising. I love to see parts of the UK I have not seen before. Lovely weather for this one.
For Stuart Kinnear. Yes, you've hit the nail right on the head. For travelling round the UK you must select your sunny days (unless it's a visit indoors - sporting fixture, castle, stately mansion). For the coast, it always looks ten times better if you've planned for high tide (go to a good travel shop like Stanfords in Covent Garden for the tide tables). You've got 48 counties to do, and like me, it'll take you two or three years of the whole summer, to do. And that's ONLY England. So, get cracking.
As a British born male now living in Perth Western Australia your videos are most welcome and brings back many happy memories. Long may you continue to produce them.
Brings such memories. I stayed at the YHA Eastbourne and the bus stops right outside. The ride is stunning especially when you realise it's all on a plateau well above sea level. On the way back from Seaford I got off at the Seven Sisters and walked to Birling Gap. On the path to Beachy head you get this amazingly surreal sight of the land just disappearing - it's the cliff at Beachy head seen from inland.
i am so ,so lucky to live in east sussex the best county in ENGLAND, the view on the downs is all ways changing the return to eastbourne from the golf course is breath taking just wonderful amen
First video I've ever seen of my hometown eastbourne it really is a lovely place. I've taken this bus a few times to and spotted my old local pub in this video 🤣
Ah Eastbourne, the town of my birth. I only got to live there for a few years in total - family moved up to Swindon (ugh) when I was only three years old, and I returned for a short while in my teens to live for about a year and a half with my birth mother. Sadly things didn't work out, so I had to move back to this dreary town with no real identity left. I really hope to return to Eastbourne one day and make it my forever-home. I would have liked to live somewhere in the US, but my medical issues have put paid to that idea - it would simply be too expensive to exist in that country for me. But Eastbourne will always hold a big chunk of my heart, and I dearly miss the smell of the salty sea air and the fantastic views over the coast ... and the ability to go for a walk in the surrounding Downs! Such a pretty location in the world, along the South coast of England!
Great video especially the last part in Brighton. I noticed there was an American Classic car day close to Brighton. You could see some classic cars return while the bus was heading to Brighton. I've driven this road a couple of times during the last 33 years and it's a lovely but very slow route.
Wow... That's a very quiet bus and a very smooth ride compared to the ones I get on this service!! Of course we all avoid that bus like the plague becuase it takes so long amd catch the 12X instead which has limited stops from Seaford to Brighton.
When I become Uber-Rich I will buy a place and move back here--1:12:18. Lovely to see the South Coast again. I lived in Christchurch, near Bournemouth but now live in the USA.
This channel is amazing. Thank you for your videos. I can actually view a ride on a bus in a land I could never afford to visit let alone see like this!👍🏻
Fun road on the motorbike 🏍 Especially if you take detour down the berling gap road your skills will tested on some of those off camber bends that's for sure.
At first I thought that you just got back on the bus from your previous trip in the opposite direction from a few months ago. But then you list Oct 9th as the date. I might not have believed you because the day was just as beautiful as it was on the opposite trip, just less people wearing shorts and more wearing long pants and coats. :)
Really Love these "Bus Trips". Why can't we listen to some nice subdued music in the background, after all, Most people when they are driving DO listen to "Something"other than to sounds of road. Still enjoy the "chatter" of the commuters. Sometimes they are too solemn!
Lovely video. But your forward only view has missed out some of the best views on that road. Particularly around 21 mins at Cuckmere , the Seven Sisters Park. A view to the left would have shown the river meandering out through the flood plain valley to the sea, in my opinion the best and most iconic view on that journey.
Greetings from Australia. As always a great video.A suggestion. If the bus is stopped any longer that 15 seconds would it be possible to delete the long stops and transistion with a cross fade or dissolve? We had to wait until 52:45 to see a train.lolAt 55:36 did the Rvans Scrap metal truck not give way to the bus? 57:10 did the car not give way to the bus?
This really needs a warning caption about flickering light. Because of the time of day, the effects of the sun through the tree branches could cause some people problems if they suffer from epilepsy.
As someone who lives in the area and uses the 12 bus to get to work, reading the comments is...weird... We locals don't find a lot of this road wonderful, it's one of the things we complain about the most on Facebook groups. 😆
right lol... the route is so familiar that I don't even think about how it would look to someone outside of the U.K. but I have to admit Hastings to Brighton does have some pretty views
*Hello, My friend. Thank you for sharing the wonderful video. I watched video and new friend +🔔 + 👍 + 🙏. I look forward to seeing you often through videos as friends. I hope for a connection with you. Have a nice day. Greetings from Seoul, Korea.👍👍899 🙏🙏*
Still got the idiots walking across the road but looking at their phones. If they get hit by someone, you know they will say it was the drivers fault. But one thing I notice, the roads are in much better condition than the pot holed monstrosities here in Australia.
Yes best standard bye far, my England, missed ,left 5 years ago, for All The current reasons , and unaffordable. For Senior citizenship, sadly. Use to drive a bus, near Guildford . For the biggest company
Thank you driver. 👍

I used to drive this route every day when I worked for Southdown buses as a Driver and later as an inspector..great memories shared thanks

Yes me too, from Brighton UK and now living nr Melbourne. Just great.
Hi Peter. I have lived in California for 38 years but still get homesick so I love these videos. Yes like Peter please keep them coming.
Fantastic viewing , thank you .
I watch most bus journeys in the U.K. from the top deck of a bus on RUclips. Yours are simply the best. Gerry from Colorado.
I sometimes do American. Also people walking through Manhattan and New York ❤️ it

I love to see rural England
There's something so absolutely wonderful about your videos. Thank you for this trip and the many others that I have experienced. :)))
One of the trips I enjoyed most!
Keep these vids coming, really a good way to get your mind of things throughout the day!
Very delicate work! Great music and footage too...This is wonderful sea! 💯👍👍👍
As great as this video is the map at the Beginning is route 12 not 12A.
Thanks for memory lane from St..Catharines Ontario Canada
Maravilloso lugar.
Such amazing scenery and it was cool to see the level crossing with the train going by
Nostalgic! During the lockdown I would often take the bus, escaping into this scene sanctuary.
I used to do this route on a Southdown number 12 bus in the 1950s. It was one of my favourite scenic routes when I lived at Cliff Road.
i am so ,so lucky to live in east sussex the best county in ENGLAND, the view on the downs is all ways changing
the return to eastbourne from the golf course is breath taking just wonderful amen
very nice....
Thats lovely can't beat a Bus ride
First video I've ever seen of my hometown eastbourne it really is a lovely place. I've taken this bus a few times to and spotted my old local pub in this video 🤣
Wonderful and cinematic view, i would enjoyed this journey back in 2007 frm Newhaven to Brighton ......
That looks very nice
Another excellent stream. Birling Gap is a wonderful place.
👍🏻👍🏻😁
That’s where I grew up! In Seaford.. been on that bus many times. I’m in Melbourne Australia now and I miss it.

Thank you for this wonderful bus ride, just awesome. Take care that way, see ya in the next one! Love your video's.
i never knew such a beautiful site existed !!
Beautiful images of the city, I recommend that my friends watch the video, it's super. 😉🍾🥂👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Actually pretty cool ride indeed !
I actually thought I was also on the bus!! Lovely journey, that I will one day check out for real. Thanks for posting.
É espetacular esse lugar 👏👏👏👍👍belíssimo 🕊🕊
Haven't been to Brighton since 1992, must go back sometime soon.
Used to go annually from 1980 to set up an exhibition stand.
Lovely rural trip, I really enjoyed it. Thank you. 😊

You never know when you get the chance to visit the UK.
🚃 ... Beautiful trip.
Amazing... 💕
A nice day at the beach.
It's even better when the Eastbourne Airshow is on .
Fun road on the motorbike 🏍 Especially if you take detour down the berling gap road your skills will tested on some of those off camber bends that's for sure.
yay green bus!!
Tally Ho through I think it's called seven sisters park, breathtaking views 😍😍😚😚😢😢Wish I could visit right now
I do enjoyed most of yr bus ride and walks..it's like walk n explore London alone is much more easier
The landscape is a "quite" different from last summer: now green, at that time the fields were yellow. Beautiful trip
Bellas imágenes de la ciudad, recomiendo que miren el vídeo mis amigos, está super. 😉🍾🥂👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Ahhh the amount of time's I drive those roads lol
mind you its interesting to read comments about something that I see so often from ppl who haven't.
(from Phila) But I love your parting shot of the Pier and Beach at Brighton
This was my old comute to work.... :)
Absolutely brilliant upload, many thanks for sharing.

Nice to see the housing estates are served with a bus route
Another good scenic bus route is the route from Hayfield to Glossop in Derbyshire in the north of England.

DARUN in bengali language which means WONDERFUL. Thanks for videos.

What do u use to record your videos because they are very high quality
First to watch!
My bus ride to Brighton 😊
Interesting how tarmac is the same wherever you go!
Yeah this is the route of the 12A in your video but the map at the Beginning just shows route 12.
👍👍👍👍
When are you going to do the 700 from Brighton to Portsmouth?
This really needs a warning caption about flickering light. Because of the time of day, the effects of the sun through the tree branches could cause some people problems if they suffer from epilepsy.
have we done this route? maybe in the reverse direction? *sits down to see*
As a person living in Eastbourne this is a bit surreal
Lovely ride(s) - Hastings>Eastbourne>Brighton- but poor lens choice (I-Phone?), fuzzy images/depth of focus - I know you can do better. Tx though.

It's Brighton, not Brightor. And it must have been Wednesday 19 Oct 2022, not Wednesday 09 Oct 2022.
21:37 1:10:43
my my the roads are narrow..... scary at times.
Shame you did not do the whole route it continues into the shopping area
There ain't no place like Sussex until ye goes above.
❤️👍🇵🇰

Lovely video... but lose the music.
Odd that the driver didn’t turn the engine off whilst waiting for the train. Sussex seems to have a reminder at each crossing to reduce pollution.
You took the WRONG bus. 😢You should have taken the 13x
Yes best standard bye far, my England, missed ,left 5 years ago, for All The current reasons , and unaffordable. For Senior citizenship, sadly. Use to drive a bus, near Guildford . For the biggest company
Very narrow roads.
i miss the other jazz intro it was better
This otherwise good video is spoiled by the recording of delays in traffic, some which are long. Who enjoys waiting in traffic.
Obviously this person has not ken any buses or trains in the Highlands of Scotland
Hello my friend ! Well done. Good work. Big like. Many greetings from good old VIENNA (AUSTRIA) 🎡🎩 "TownByTown"
