Strange that thIs reaction comes up now. I heavily listen to that song for two weeks now... I always listen to "Swanheart" in combination with "crimson tide / deep blue sea (instrumental)" that was played right before Swanheart during the concert. It's the perfect intro in my opinion. This here is one of the songs that makes me understand why some fans are still missing Tarja. Part of it is she herself. Part of it is the way Tuomas composed back then. This man is pouring is heart out in his songs. And to me, it's obvious that he wrote pretty much everything back then about his relation with Tarja. An unfulfilled love. Tuomas turned that into "Once upon a tale - An Ugly Duckling - Lost in a verse - Of a sparrows carol - Dreaming the stars". How pure, innocent and beautiful is that? Hearing the new album, he lost that melancholic desire. I actually think, his heart actually did find a home. Which is great for him. And not so great for fans who fall in love with Nightwish because he found words and music that opened up a part of your soul you didn't understand before.

my G--d yes..Kuolema Tekee Taiteilijan in particular...she is so exquisite, its bonechillingly, toe curlingly, hairraisingly superb...love you Tarja!!..Floor is sweet and gentle but nowhere near as tantalizing
For their older stuffs, please check out Wishmaster, Over the hills and far away and The Siren from End of an Era show (great guitar riffs, the first 2 songs that I mentioned even have 2 guitar solos so thats cool). /I believe Emppu's longest guitar solo is in Know why the Nightingale Sings (~1:40 min) They need to utilize Emppu more in my opinion, dude is brilliant. Have a good one Brian!
for the first 6 years NW was a extremely successful power metal band and Tarja was its queen...swanheart is in their newer setlist but Tarja's incredible vocal part was replaced by a flute...metal heaven, indeed
Yeah, early Nightwish had a more "melancholy" vibe to it, and Tarja's darker classical voice fit it perfectly. Everyone is reacting to the old songs now from the new Decades live video, but I wish they would check out these versions first. I prefer this show "From Wishes to Eternity", over "End of an Era" personally, but both have many songs worth checking out. You're going to run out of Floor material sooner or later anyway. BTW, new lyric video out for "Harvest" from the new album.
hey..love your reaction..i am a huge Tarjaholic and been a Floor fan since the start as well...you gotta hear Tarja perform songs like end of all hope, 10th man down, pharaoh sails to orion and deep silent complete to appreciate her early mezzo power..
This song always melts me down, period. I want to highlight though, if you feel like you want to stay in your comfort zone with Floor, check out Tarja's solo performances, she is very active today and have had a successful solo career for 15 years and released a new album some months ago. Here is her cover of Muse's "Supremacy", some nice earth-shattering notes there, ruclips.net/video/wmMBI_0X3oE/видео.html Or a personal favourite of mine: "Love to Hate", ruclips.net/video/jxqodwLVdcU/видео.html Other than that, check out "Wishmaster" from the End of an Era show, a very demanding song but nonetheless an iconic Nightwish single.
this reactor and his friend pay very little attention to Tarja who is a true vocal beast...Floor is likewise very talented but , imho, today, she is using vocals far below her potential
Tarja was so perfect at her time, couldn't imagine Nightwish without her. But she thought herself as opera singer, waiting for more from life than a metal band. Annette was good and the band was so much happier when she came in. They made two very good albums with her. When Annette got pregnant, Floor was supposed to replace her during maternity leave (we have that in Finland, until baby is 10 months old.) But Annette became very sick during American tour and boys obviously asked if Floor should come in earlier? Annette got mad and left the band. Floor was called in and she is the next level of everything.
all Tarja wanted was to be treated as an equal not a gust performer...Tuomas did not heed her concerns until Marcelo insisted and thats what led to the firing...i had an inside source who witnessed it first hand
They did a fair few more ballads with Tarja, like this, Oceansoul, Away, Sleeping Sun or the Finnish Kuolema Tekee Taiteilijan and many more less heavy songs such as Nightwish, Two for tragedy or Forever yours That said, I enjoy listening to all 3 of their vocalists, even Anette had her great moments, such as in Eva, Meadows of Heaven and more. What happened in the background and why they chose to split is none of out concern really, and i just wish the media stopped spilling dirt left and right... Just enjoy thd the music
well, at issue is the vindictive and wholly unnecessary way Trarja was trashed before the world..after she announced her desire to go solo in 2003 due to feeling unheeded by Tuomas ...their attitude towards her became bitter, believing her departure would most likely spell the end to NW....Tarja, on the other hand, wished her successor luck...you should read what choice words Annete had for them upon her dismissal
Tarja is really angelic and more operatic. For Tarja I would suggest the End of an era DVD. You can’t go wrong with any song from it. Floor just can nail everything. She is just amazing, nice, funny and powerful. They are actually good friends.
Nightwish used to have more guitar solos in the past and they used to be a power metal band. Listen to oceanborn or wishmaster stuff. They used to be so powerful songs like sacrament of wilderness, she is my sin or wishmaster
If you want heavier songs with Tarja: "Summer Breeze 2002" concert - songs: "Slaying the Dreamer" and "10th man down". Also Beauty of the Beast is a MUST. If you want a live video of this song: ruclips.net/video/XPzwYa3SDkg/видео.html
Tarja's Nightwish era is divided in two. The first half they played much power metal, some ballads and folkish song and Tarja sang mostly classical operatic style. The latter half, since Century Child, they played more symphonic metal and Tuomas changed Tarja to sing contemporary style mixed with less operatic classical. Many asked Helsinki 2005 "End of an Era" concert songs, that's imho not so good, Tarja was sick in that concert (flu and in fever) she couldn't sing anything in the morning rehersals and the band knew they will fire her after the concert... interaction was minimal. Any other concert is better if audio quality is good. Almost everyone does reactions into Helsinki concert though coz has better audio/video quality. There's other concerts too with quite playable quality, besides that and this Tampere 2000 "From Wishes to Eternity." For example Raumanmeri 2003, Summer Breeze festival 2002, Download Festival 2005 and Taubertal Festival 2005. Some songs have been remastered and are better quality than any original upload. For example this song is with very nice quality here: Swanheart Tampere Pakkahuone 2000 (remastered) ruclips.net/video/0sc-VNppXhs/видео.html Most NW songs are 4 - 5 mins long. Usually there's one longer song in an album. I'm not gonna suggest her NW-songs, or metal, everyone else does. I'm suggesting something from her after NW-career. Holy Night 2018 Christmas concert in Moscow ruclips.net/video/2khGVrziWOs/видео.html the link is to the beginning of the song- Or Ave Maria by Paolo Tosti 2019 Christmas church tour in Finland ruclips.net/video/R1Oet_mgpP0/видео.html
Many of the songs you've heard Floor sing were originally Tarja's songs, such as Ghost Love Score, Bless the Child, Nemo, and Romanticide, among others. Tarja's voice is fantastic, and so is her talent. It's true that her voice is distinctly different from Floor's, and their styles are different. But in some songs, Tarja is the best choice, such as with "Phantom of the Opera". Also, "Slaying the Dreamer" from End of an Era concert. This particular song isn't typical of that era of Nightwish, because as we've learned, there isn't exactly a typical Nightwish song. Actually, you should check out the whole show End of an Era. It was the last concert she did with Nightwish. We're all entitled to our own opinions, and if anyone thinks Tarja is a bad singer then let's meet out behind the shed and discuss it.
They've already done "Phantom of the Opera" by Tarja. I think he didn't think it was spectacular because he didn't remember it at all and said this is his first time hearing Tarja.
yah, its amazing , how many new NW fans still strongly insist on trying to deconstruct Tarja's talent and tremendous contribution to NW as a whole, as though acknowledging it would somehow diminish Floor in their eyes and mind...
@@xeleelex146 Yeah it is sad. But all anyone has to do is, for example, just watch the End of an Era concert. Tarja is fantastic! How could anyone not see that?
yah, i can understand when its a matter of personal taste, but to deliberately attempt reduce her exquisite voice just to build up Floor's (who by the way, today, sings in a rather unchallenging, somewhat rockish way compared to her great vocals in AF and REvamp, is just perverse
Technically this was your 2nd reaction to Tarja. The first was the Phantom of the Opera. About 6 months ago, since I can see the video in the recommended tab on the side here. Although at the time you were both a bit worried you were cheating on Floor. There are some differences with them, the tone/brightness/warmth of both. Tarja is commonly nicknamed an angel, while Floor is our favorite Valkyrie. Some of this also might relate to their stage presence, and part is how they approach songs.. A decent amount of the reaction videos you've done with Floor were the older songs. ex Ghost Love Score (2004), Devil and the Deep Dark Ocean (1998) , I Wish I Had An Angel (2004), 10th Man Down (2001) , Stargazers (1998) ( don't remember seeing you with that yet, but Floor brought that one back to live performances as well.) those were originally Tarjas. Floor has the talent to take those songs and run with them. I love what both of these ladies brought to the table. Add in Epica and I think you have the top 3 voices for symphonic metal. ( I know my type...) ruclips.net/video/f27vgpcTpOw/видео.html This is actually a fan made video, it's a splicing of Tarja and Floor both singing Bless the Child ( from their live concerts) Or EverDream ruclips.net/video/hrBZmcgzFPM/видео.html . ( another splicing)
End of a Era show is fantastic, and you have been told before there and undercurrents in that particular show, look for them. There is a LOT of earlier songs on these albums with Tarja: Once, Ocean borne, Wishmaster, Century Child, Angles fall First As a fan of Lord of the Rings, give a listen to Eleven Path, in is more about a fantasy as a genre but it is a song that you may appreciate
Tarja as an amazing singer totally, nightwish has 3 eras, the first era from 1996-2005 it’s the era of Tarja and ends with a live dvd call “End of an era”. The second one it’s the Anette era, very pop rock voice, nightwish change a lot, but still amazing since 2013 the era of Floor and they make a tour playing songs of Tarja eras, sounds amazing. You should listen Tarja Turunen solo carrier! Listen love to hate or dead promises! And this one it’s this song with orchestra and Tarja ruclips.net/video/avYlKRytCrA/видео.html
la unica cancion de la "era Tarja" que floor la "supera"es "ghost love score" , el resto de las canciones de la ultima gira, ninguna cancion floor la canta mejor que tarja.
there is never a need to compare..each diva has their beautiful qualities..the problem is that certain new NW fans are so ignorant in their love for the current NW that they dump on Tarja..
Those people that do vocal range videos in YT, have found all 3 Nightwish female singers with almost identical range. They have found Anette 2 notes lower than Tarja, Floor one note lower than Tarja, and Tarja one note higher than Anette and Floor. So there's not much difference in range. I consider Tarja very versatile though, as she can sing well both contemporary and classical style.
BUT TARJA NEVER TRIES TO DROWN OUT ANYBODY..NEITHER DOES FLOOR....TWO VERY CLASSY LADIES WHO LOVE AND RESPECT EACH OTHER...WHAT A GREAT GIFT OF NATURE..

I checked out a few of your vids man...and I got to say...maybe its just me but something in your eyes makes me believe you finally found the roots of why we're all in love with Nightwish. This lady here made it all happen (not literally but you know what I mean). She's the reason we love Nightwish. And that's just the whole story. "The first love".. In my opinion we shouldnt compare thw two - Tarja and Floor. They do different things, they are both amazing artists. I love Nightwish for Tarja and now I still listen for Floor. I skipped the Annette part...for me, she didnt go through to the bootcamp. It was a NO from me. Nightwish with Tarja...even though it sound weird...they were happy in their anger. The artist soul. Discovering, being themselves, creating from the heart. Now the pressure its different. The industry its different. I wouldnt be able to relate with Nightwish today if it wasnt for "then",,,,ykwim?Anyway , long discussion... In my opinion some songs belong (and by that I mean, performance-wise)to the following because I think they can do it best: 1. Tarja - "Sleeping sun" , "Phantom of the Opera" , "Ever Dream" , "Nemo" , "Over the hills" , "Swanheart" , "Wishmaster" 2. Annette - "Storytime" and then she can resume to "Baby shark" 3. Floor - "Ghost love score" , "Amaranth" , "Poet and the Pendulum" and the newer stuff. She shouldnt do the older stuff, because that's way darker than her voice and she cant fill in those shoes. Stick to what she can do best, play the Neo-Nightwish and we'll all be fine. Those cords can only be struck by Tarja. Floor is brilliant but only if not touching the jewels Tarja left.
Tuomas's favorite song performed in Tarja's heavenly voice and still a hater or two in the midst voting it down...the most beautiful (vocal) part of this song will never be performed again due to Tuomas's connecting it Tarja....sad
Both have their qualities; the older numbers were written to the voice of Tarja. I do prefer the voice of Floor. Not only because she is a great singer; she is a performer. She takes you with her into the story she sings. Touching!
they are both marvelous in their own monster talented way and though each has their favorite, people should just state their preference and leave the superlatives and pejoratives behind...
Please don't! Just don't compare them! You'll start a war. People still complain about tarja leaving the band even though it happened many years ago. People are arguing about tarja vs anette or tarja vs floor or anette vs floor...
Tarja didn't leave she was fired due to complications between the band and her husband check out this Tarja Turunen press conference after the open letter to the public, she was so hurt and its sad for both her and the band. No matter what they will always have a beautiful history, memories and the music they gave us will never die, this band never disappoints me from beginning to now. ruclips.net/video/TSrjTdTDSCw/видео.html
Tarja has a great voice. But the Nightwish with Floor has such a better feel and sound. I just think Floor brings more to Nightwish. But that is just my two cents

my thoughts exactly...plain to see here, in dead boy's poem, 2003 and 2005 performance of sleeping sun and Kuolema Tekee Taiteilijan

I found Nightwish through Floor, but Tarja is now my favorite. I still like Floor though.

This is the Tarja magic that people are missing 👌
Edit: I agree with others in the comments. Would highly recommend more Nightwish with Tarja.
Kuolema Tekee Taiteilijan (End of an Era DVD)
Slaying The Dreamer (End of an Era DVD)
Wishmaster (End of an Era DVD)
The Siren (End of an Era DVD)
10th Man Down (Live at Summer Breeze 2002)
Walking In The Air (From Wishes To Eternity DVD)
my G--d yes..Kuolema Tekee Taiteilijan in particular...she is so exquisite, its bonechillingly, toe curlingly, hairraisingly superb...love you Tarja!!..Floor is sweet and gentle but nowhere near as tantalizing
For their older stuffs, please check out Wishmaster, Over the hills and far away and The Siren from End of an Era show (great guitar riffs, the first 2 songs that I mentioned even have 2 guitar solos so thats cool). /I believe Emppu's longest guitar solo is in Know why the Nightingale Sings (~1:40 min)
They need to utilize Emppu more in my opinion, dude is brilliant. Have a good one Brian!
for the first 6 years NW was a extremely successful power metal band and Tarja was its queen...swanheart is in their newer setlist but Tarja's incredible vocal part was replaced by a flute...metal heaven, indeed
Walking in the Air is great.
"walking in the air" pleaaaaaaase with tarja
hey..love your reaction..i am a huge Tarjaholic and been a Floor fan since the start as well...you gotta hear Tarja perform songs like end of all hope, 10th man down, pharaoh sails to orion and deep silent complete to appreciate her early mezzo power..
true and real nightwish era
This song always melts me down, period. I want to highlight though, if you feel like you want to stay in your comfort zone with Floor, check out Tarja's solo performances, she is very active today and have had a successful solo career for 15 years and released a new album some months ago.
Here is her cover of Muse's "Supremacy", some nice earth-shattering notes there,
ruclips.net/video/wmMBI_0X3oE/видео.html
Or a personal favourite of mine: "Love to Hate",
ruclips.net/video/jxqodwLVdcU/видео.html
Other than that, check out "Wishmaster" from the End of an Era show, a very demanding song but nonetheless an iconic Nightwish single.
this reactor and his friend pay very little attention to Tarja who is a true vocal beast...Floor is likewise very talented but , imho, today, she is using vocals far below her potential
Is it me or did the combination of the song and Stan's picture made it seem like a memorial to the missing Stan. ;)
They did a fair few more ballads with Tarja, like this, Oceansoul, Away, Sleeping Sun or the Finnish Kuolema Tekee Taiteilijan and many more less heavy songs such as Nightwish, Two for tragedy or Forever yours
That said, I enjoy listening to all 3 of their vocalists, even Anette had her great moments, such as in Eva, Meadows of Heaven and more.
If you want a live video of this song: ruclips.net/video/XPzwYa3SDkg/видео.html
great suggestions, indeed...love your nickname ...haha
For example this song is with very nice quality here: Swanheart Tampere Pakkahuone 2000 (remastered) ruclips.net/video/0sc-VNppXhs/видео.html
Most NW songs are 4 - 5 mins long. Usually there's one longer song in an album.
I'm not gonna suggest her NW-songs, or metal, everyone else does. I'm suggesting something from her after NW-career.

( I know my type...)
ruclips.net/video/f27vgpcTpOw/видео.html This is actually a fan made video, it's a splicing of Tarja and Floor both singing Bless the Child ( from their live concerts)
Or EverDream ruclips.net/video/hrBZmcgzFPM/видео.html . ( another splicing)
how can anyone forget that is beyond me , but alas
And this one it’s this song with orchestra and Tarja
ruclips.net/video/avYlKRytCrA/видео.html
la unica cancion de la "era Tarja" que floor la "supera"es "ghost love score" , el resto de las canciones de la ultima gira, ninguna cancion floor la canta mejor que tarja.
Just sitting here going "don't compare don't compare don't compare" cause ppl will FIGHT in the comments, lmfao
Tuomas has removed the vocal part of this song for its obvious connection to Tarja...what a shame
there is never a need to compare..each diva has their beautiful qualities..the problem is that certain new NW fans are so ignorant in their love for the current NW that they dump on Tarja..
Where is Nightwish's Harvest reaction?!!!? It was released hours ago😂😃😅🤘
Tarja: More wide range.
Floor: More versatile.
I love both.
@@Aurinkohirvi I agree, personally I prefer Tarja over the rest.
Please try Deep Silent Complete live from From Wishes To Eternity dvd
Seconded!
@@Aurinkohirvi achingly beautiful delivery..
This is one of my favourite songs. I think Tarja could easily drown out Floors voice. Floor is a great rock singer, but that’s all really.
They have sang together and no she can't
@@davemason4055 She did
and today she is gradually slipping into pop mode
BUT TARJA NEVER TRIES TO DROWN OUT ANYBODY..NEITHER DOES FLOOR....TWO VERY CLASSY LADIES WHO LOVE AND RESPECT EACH OTHER...WHAT A GREAT GIFT OF NATURE..
A little list in no particular order. All from "End of an Era" (2005).

She was the best, all the dark gothic operatic magic was gone after she left. 😢
In my opinion some songs belong (and by that I mean, performance-wise)to the following because I think they can do it best:
1. Tarja - "Sleeping sun" , "Phantom of the Opera" , "Ever Dream" , "Nemo" , "Over the hills" , "Swanheart" , "Wishmaster"
2. Annette - "Storytime" and then she can resume to "Baby shark"
Touching!
they both narrate a story exquisitely: just using different vocal and gesture oriented means
Check out Wishmaster from End of an Era!! ;D
And Tarja Turunen gives a lot singing lessons to floor.that The reasion floor van Song a little higer today!
This to me especially the instrument playing. sound like a Neo Prog song.
You know, "All of us" do not hate Tarja.. Even if liking Floor "heart" < this supposed to be somekind of emoji :-D
they are both marvelous in their own monster talented way and though each has their favorite, people should just state their preference and leave the superlatives and pejoratives behind...
Please react to Tarja - live in Rosario, Argentina
You need to finish off Wacken with Nemo.
Please don't! Just don't compare them! You'll start a war. People still complain about tarja leaving the band even though it happened many years ago. People are arguing about tarja vs anette or tarja vs floor or anette vs floor...
not i..Tarja was far too good for those bums
Tarja didn't leave she was fired due to complications between the band and her husband check out this Tarja Turunen press conference after the open letter to the public, she was so hurt and its sad for both her and the band. No matter what they will always have a beautiful history, memories and the music they gave us will never die, this band never disappoints me from beginning to now. ruclips.net/video/TSrjTdTDSCw/видео.html
Phantom of the opera and Wishmaster! Check those out, this 1 wasnt so good. End of an era album tour
Tarja dead boy poem.
Now you know why we "old-school" NIGHTWISH fans where sad when they fired Tarja. 😭 But we are good again because of Floor.🤘🤘🤘
sad is a woeful understatement..apoplectic is a far more fitting term..they better show Floor more consideration or they are done...
You can make a better version ... but tarja she created that song whit her voice. I like floor but in her band after forever
Well, you're clearly gonna have to re-do this one with Stan! … >impatiently taps foot
Well... we'll see!
Nightwish dropped a new single. It is called Harvest. Be prepared........... Lol
Tarja has a great voice. But the Nightwish with Floor has such a better feel and sound. I just think Floor brings more to Nightwish. But that is just my two cents
