    So I've been making knives for a couple year's and have done some pretty nice knives. I've always fought getting the perfect bevel or the best finish. I finally decided that a hammered texture with an ok bevel looks good enough for me!

    • @peter4868
      @peter4868 8 лет назад

      Mate I was thinking of some sort of higher level chiefs knife that could cut through the bench if dropped or pushed down with enough force. It might take a bit on the money wise, only a semi part timer so got some time from now. But yeah something like that mate would be great.

    Seen the flint-knapped look done before a few times, but your way is so simple it's elegant! The end result is very nice as well.
    I noticed some RYOBI-tools lying about... How are they working out for you? Price vs. Durability/Performance and such?

    • @armageddonknives
      @armageddonknives  8 лет назад

      Thanks. The angle grinder I have works ok for me so far. That being said I don't think I would use it more than a few minutes a day

    • @nielsegense
      @nielsegense 8 лет назад

      Riiiight, I might stick with BOSCH/Metabo then... At our workshop I find that the less-practically inclined people ruin our grinders REALLY fast, most often by letting them lie around sanders and other grinders. Bone-, metal-, and wood-dust REALLY fecks'em up :(
      Stupid vikings...

    • @armageddonknives
      @armageddonknives  8 лет назад

      My ryobi angle grinder pretty much lives next to the belt grinder and its still going strong. well almost I've had to give it a few blasts of compressed air into the motor to get it started

    • @nielsegense
      @nielsegense 8 лет назад

      The air-vents must be angled/placed differently than the on the ones we use. I will have to get one to test it out! With a 40% discount on all Ryobi at the moment it might be worth it :) Thanks, man! Keep up the good work!
      If you ever get the opportunity to visit the Jomsborg Sud-Hird camps in AUS, do go, they have some very good blacksmiths and knifemakers in the Australian Viking Community. Look them up on FB, they do events all over, but most often in the south (Victoria/NSW).
