I will never tire of hearing this ode to loving life. Before Katrina, I drove to work though the French Quarter, to Canal Place. I blasted Judy, my own self, WINDOWS OPEN, singing along, like there was no tomorrow. Loved the peeps that looked up to hear Judy's voice from my little Tercel. She made her mark, ALWAYS. Yes, Thank you, always, Judy.

I blame MGM for the death of this fantastic women. I'm only 16 and I was born in the wrong decade, I tell you that right now. I would do anything to meet her, bring her back! I'm desperate to meet Liza, she is my idol. 1969 was a terrible year, 22nd of June in London we lost a legend and I love her, always will and my children will grow up knowing who this women is! I love you Frances Ethel Gumm.

    • @karliharden728
      @karliharden728 4 года назад +14

You were not born in the wrong decade. You are in the best possible era that we've had so far because you can listen to Garland (or anyone, for that matter) whenever you want. Also, don't forget Judy's mother was the one that got her hooked on drugs in the first place. That woman was the monster that started the entire mess. I read that she had been giving Judy pills around age 9, and Judy only started up with MGM at 13. It's a shame.

Pure goodness, talent and a genius that We all know. And as usual too weak to say no to toxic people that were around. Judy's body went away 10 years before I was born but for Me Judy is immortal.

Written in 1934 , Zing ! Went The Strings Of My Heart " was a Garland favorite while she was still a young vaudeville sensation . Her mother Ethel is said to have made her original arrangement , with its slow introductory passage and dramatic mid - song shift to a swinging up tempo finale . She sang this version on NBC's Shell Chateau radio program on the night of November 16 , 1935 , with her stricken father listening in on a hospital room radio . The following day he died of spinal meningitis . " I sang my heart out for him , " Garland later recalled , " but by morning he was gone . " The song remained in her repertoire the rest of her life . She sang it in her 1938 film Listen Darling and on numerous radio appearances . It would later become a perennial concert favorite .

I know that when I've sung in front of an audience, I'm usually extremely nervous. But then, some kinetic form of energy from God helps me to use and transcend/transform that nervousness into pure, raw, emotionally-balanced talent. Now, I've never sustained that talent into the sheer bliss that is Judy. She's a divine gift to the world. I can only sit back and enjoy and send her love in the heavens above. Yes, I just love Judy Garland too ❤ I mean, who wouldn't? If there are such people who don't love Judy, they must be lacking heart and soul...

Never could carry a tune, never knew where to start
You came along when everything was wrong and put a song in my heart
Dear when you smiled at me, I heard a melody
It haunted me from the start
Something inside of me started a symphony
Zing! Went the strings of my heart
'Twas like a breath of spring, I heard a robin sing
    About a nest set apart
All nature seemed to be in perfect harmony
Zing! Went the strings of my heart
Your eyes made skies seem blue again
What else could I do again
But keep repeating through and through
    "I love you, love you"
I still recall the thrill, guess I always will
    I hope 'twill never depart
Dear, with your lips to mine, a rhapsody divine
Zing! Went the strings of my heart
Dear when you smiled at me, I heard a melody
It haunted me from the start
Something inside of me started a symphony
Zing! Went the strings of my heart
'Twas like a breath of spring, I heard a robin sing

i listen to many artists because i love music and am a big garland fan still in 2019 , and they are surely great, but it is what garland( a a very few tiny more like her) do with any song, they magnify it / change it evolve it/ rebirth it /and when she soars you ride up and just go wow/you just soar. i got here with the the buzz stephens 2015 tribute with barry maniilow singing along with Ms. Garland. the voice is working a bit more here and who knows how she was feelings or what might have been happening behind the scenes / she had some rough times behind the scenes of that show and some people were ripping off her money too/ she was nt treated to well in the end/ she had soul and a heart and sometimes like all of us it just hurts sometimes / but she still went out and tried and .that is all we can do. give her some credit damn it she been dead / for 50 years and some of use are still checking her out / after the movie Judy ( which i still dont know if i will watch cause the family. where children. is not a fan/ may be there will be more fans/ will be / she is still one the legends we wish was still here. god bless her in the and her family
