Great MSC series. Was planning MSC to be my first cruise (70yo) because it seemed laid back, especially Ocean Cay. Watched MULTIPLE MSC vloggers this year and was going to pull the trigger till you guys pulled back the curtain. Having watched EVERY one of your vlogs in this series I appreciate your immersive experience. I decided to sail away from MSC and will next watch your Royal Carribean vlog to help me choose my first and probably only cruise I will ever be on. Thank you SO VERY MUCH! Great work, keep vlogging like this.
I used their buffet once in the morning so we went to The Wave for Breakfast and lunch no waiting. You just have to get there early as they open at 7:30 to 9 and 12 to about 2 for lunch with service that was great
Thank you for your honest review! Not many vloggers give a detailed explanation WHY something isn't working on the cruise. Yes, it is a personal opinion but It's really appreciated. At least we'll not be surprised by many things on the ship! You mentioned quite a few things that are important to us. Keep up the good work, I'll keep watching your channel!
Thank you so much! I have many years experience working in the service industry and definitely try and use all my knowledge and experience to give you the real outcome of what is going on and definitely try and find solutions! Thank you for watching!! 😎
Thank you very much for your detailed review! Still deciding if we will book MSC cruise. If we decide to, at least we will have a good idea of what to expect but the price point is hard to resist!
Thanks for the review guys...Going on Meraviglia in June out of New York. Don't know if i would review a 3-day cruise because its simply not enough time to gauge everything. I did give a thumbs up because you seem to be very genuine, honest people and i appreciate the time you put into the video.
I LOVE the fact that you and your channel are getting the great reviews you absolutely deserve! And this video is definitely one of your best! Missed seeing Jake and hearing his spot-on reviews, but waited and we finally heard, “SEEEE YAHHHH”! 🤗
Thank you Maureen! Jake was enjoying playing video games with his friends! Priorities right 🤣! He is right there with us on our feelings on this cruise. I will say he did really enjoy Ocean Cay! A very chill relaxing island! Thank you for watching 😎!
Just found your site, subscribed. Booked for our first MSC cruise for May 2023 out of NYC, Meraviglia. Twelve NCL cruises, three Celebrity, one Carnival, one Royal. Everyone has their opinions, I highly recommend that you try NCL. Not saying they are perfect, but our favorite.
We are going on celebrity summit out of Miami over hollow ween 1st cruise would love to see you review them love your reviews looking forward to your other videos definitely subscribed
Thanks for the detailed review. For a first and probably only cruise we are definitely going to go with Royal. The island looks the most fun with Royal and I like all the different complimentary restaurants.
this is a great review and I appreciate your opinions. You and Roberta are very good judges of character and customer service. I am also one of your subscribers that is a double amputee and I appreciate your attention to detail concerning accessibility. Your comments and critiques of the MSC fall right into line with other cruisers that I have watched on the MSC. Thanks again for keeping it real!! One thing along the lines of the pools with the retractable roofs. On many of the RC ships is the pool area under the roof called the Solarium are for Adults only. That would certainly take Jake out of the picture thus not being family friendly.
Thank you! We definitely try and cover it all! Accessible areas are very important! Roberta and I have worked in the service industry for many years. It is very important to provide great experiences to all! Inclusion is important! Thank you for watching! 😎
We also did the 3-day Meraviglia in February. My biggest issue was the lines in the bar. I have never experienced that in any other ship. It's like they were understaffed. No consistency in glassware, drinks, or even garnishments. The servers are too busy to be friendly with any passengers. Also, we NEVER even once met our cabin steward. Something that in most ships happens the very first day. I have to agree, the BIGGEST problem in this ship is SERVICE.
Thanks for your reviews - I've watched all your MSC parts and appreciate the heads-up on a lot of things! We leave this Sunday (3/12) for our college-age daughters Spring Break. I'm sure it will be overrun with kids of all ages - but, we've done Carnival and Disney on Spring Break weeks and are well prepared for the crazy. ;) You're advice on the "atm" machines and the lack of outlets in cabin is very helpful. And I think we will try to go on the "off" hours for food - might not make a difference, but we will see! This will be our first MSC cruise, we have sailed Disney (3x) and Carnival (2x) and have an upcoming Celebrity and Holland America later this year. Thanks again for your tips - I'm sure it will make our experience a bit smoother! One more thing - do you think the MSC experience would be totally different in Yacht Class?
Enjoy your cruise! I do think the Yacht Club would make a difference. It's basically vip service from what I have been told. We may give it a try if we cruise MSC again. Thank you for watching!
I really appreciate all of your honest opinions!! I get it!! The ship was beautiful but long lines for food and beverages I wouldn't like it!! Thank you!!
Which one is your favorite in Central Florida? I would like to give it a try. I can't find any pizza comparable to the pizza in the Northeast, especially Connecticut. Thank you 😎
Thank you for your information on food allergy and the possible of cross contamination on the MSC Meraviglia. I have a shellfish allergy and I am very nervious about having a bad reaction on a cruise ship because of this. When I was on the Carnival Magic they made sure all my food in the main dining-room was cooked separate to avoid any type of cross containmination.
Hey guys! Several Carnival and Royal ships also have a retractable pool roof, some of them you never even realize unless you know it's there. :) Enjoying the videos!
The Carnival Spirit has the cover that opens and shuts over pool, I would think all Spriit class have this, so does Sunrise which used to be Triumph, not sure about other ships, there may be a few more.
MSC is very much 'you get what you pay for'. They have great prices but there are issues that are made worse on a crowded ship. However, if you are thinking of a special vacation and can pay a little more, then if you get one of the rooms in their Yacht Club all those issues vanish. You have major sections of the newer ships dedicated to Yacht Club and it's a whole other world. No long waits, no service issues, great food, even more gorgeous spaces, priority on the elevators, all that. And, they're some of the cheapest suite rooms around. If you can get that money together then it'll be worth every penny, IMO. (We've been on 3 MSC cruises in the YC and love it) We went on our first Carnival cruise on the Mardi Gras and it was fun, lots of good included food, but it just didn't click with us. We've been on two NCL cruises and loved them both. If you're staying in a regular balcony room then NCL will be more $ than MSC, but you'll get your money's worth. Great series of videos, hope you have fun on your next cruise. Happy to subscribe. :)
I understand your concern regarding the lack/ inconsistent labeling of "sugar-free" foods... many people want to/need to avoid sugar, even on a cruise. However, most sugar-free desserts on cruise ships are still not safe for diabetics. If they have any kind of flour in them (cookies, cakes, pastries, etc) they still spike your blood glucose and should be avoided. Just fill up on meat & veg and skip all the fruit & desserts. I've completely reversed my diabetes with "No Sugar, No Grains, No Cheating".
Great review, especially for newbies. We've been on over 20 cruises with NCL, MSC, Royal, Disney, and Carnival. I see you guys are not veterans of cruising. Some of your complaints are about things that are unfortunately not uncommon with many cruiselines. MSC Miraviglia has gorgeous pools. Much larger than most and very well designed The entertainment by the pool may not be great, but the pool decks are very comfortable. In comparison, NCL's pools are ridiculously small are badly designed and uncomfortable. NCL does play great live music pooside, but I'd rather be comfortable and be able to actually find a spot in the pool. As for paying extra for some entertainment, NCL does the same thing. Carnival's main pool decks vary in design but are all insane. Extremely loud and entertaining. Huge party atmosphere but they also offer great quiet, comfy serenity areas as well. Also, most cruiseships do not have a way for wheelchairbound persons to.access their waterslides. The service on all cruise lines now are bad. We just did a NCL cruise on ths Epic. Lousy service. Long waits to get food and drinks. Carnival's service is better but has been slower than usual. Carnival offers the best variety of food - Awesome fast casual options. Carnival also has tons of live music all over the ship and plenty of comedy shows. As for drinks, ALL cruiselines waterdown their drinks. All cruise lines cutback their bar staff and poolside wait staff. I used to enjoy sitting in the pool or hottub and be able to order drinks on all the cruiselines. Last few cruises have been tough. Hardly any poolside staff on NCL and Carnival. Horribly long lines at the bars. All cruiselines have been hurting lately but at least MSC has gorgeous ships, good food, and is by far the most inexpensive fares. Even cheaper than Carnival! My wife and I are doing the MSC Yacht Club for the first time this July on the Meraviglia for $2600 for a 7 day cruise out of NYC. Thats dirt cheap! Excited to see what it offers. Royal and NCL want way more for regular cabins!
Great information! Thank you. Definitely have had great success on Royal and Disney. NCL and Carnival are on our list! Thank you for watching and the comment. 😎
Appreciate the perspectives! Have been cautiously considering a 7 day from NY. Now I'm more seriously considering a shorter cruise on Carnival or NCL. Curious about: how long it takes to disembark & return on Ocean Cay; if they allow empty drink containers to use for filling with water; and, quality of internet service for streaming (like youtube)?
We definitely have vlogs out from our cruise covering all thoes with exception to the internet. We did not purchase the internet but they do have a free chat feature on the app. MSC definitely needs improvement with the over all service. Thank you for watching! We definitely enjoy Disney and Royal Caribbean cruises! 😎
I reckon you guys ought to repeat MSC with a 7 days cruise ..cos my friends on the Seascape and the atmosphere, live pool music and good bar pool attendant services, too. It seems they cut back on a 3 day itenary and are slower deliberately to save ... The Carousel show - NCL had Cirque de Soleil (that's what MSC was originally ,too) and they charged to see it..I saw it on the NCL Epic Definitely try NCL.. they're more laid back than Royal. They really let you relax n do what you want, BUT - it's a little less party time than Royal...
Absolutely love 7 night cruises! We are fortunate enough to live near the Port so 3 and 4 nights are great getaways for us! NCL is on our list! Thank you for watching!
Thanks for your video. I wanted to know how do they check how old a child is for the water rides? also does the ship have life vests for younger children to swim in the main pool?
I've watched all your videos and not once did you get in the pool in them. Nor do I recall any mention of life jackets. Would be nice if you could just answer the question instead of expecting someone to watch all your videos for one simple answer. Don't be greedy like that. Be grateful that you have viewers commenting on your videos. And at least be very specific when suggesting that someone watch another one of your videos. Give the title to the video you think they would find helpful.
I mentioned the video because I can't remember exactly if there were life vests on MSC. I am very detailed in the content we creat while cruising, in no way was I trying to be rude, that is not how we vlog or interact with any viewers. I can definitely tell you the Royal Caribbean and Disney have life vests because I can definitely remember seeing them. I just can't recall on MSC. We definitely get in the pools in our Disney and Royal videos. I do not want to give you the wrong information, that is why I was mentioning the vlogs.
Ok. I understand that. I would have preferred if you just said you don't recall but I can check your other videos out to see if it was mentioned. Your response just came out the wrong way and made it seem like you didn't want to answer purposely so I can be forced to watch your other videos. Thanks for the explanation now though.
@@nyclesdrpr ruclips.net/p/PLYmi89PqYU5YpNmD7-NJqXX_FyuC4dZOi&si=h-s-PCdhb_ZXUFoP This is the playlist from MSC Meraviglia . I believe it's the second video where we explore the kids area. Have a great night. ! 😎 Appreciate your support for our channel!
Paid food on MSC was optional there was good food that you could get all day by the light house with comfortable seating and covered that beach area was a little rougher than the main beach but I like the area better as it was less crowded and a lot less to walk to Like the light house we have to remember we cannot have everything. I sailed RC and their island in Haiti had a lot of food but the flies were horrible on top of the food. Yuck
Great question! I didn't notice but there must be an outdoor promenade on one of the decks. I would assume because you would need access to the lifeboats. I will have to research this. Thank you for watching 😎!
@@amzrkwcz From what a few people have told me the MSC Seashore is a much better ship and better service. It is currently at Port Canaveral. The Royal Caribbean, Independence Of The Seas is a smaller ship(still huge lol) and has Splash away bay on the pool deck. Fun kids water area. Plus I do think it stops at Castaway Cay. Very fun Islans as well. I have vlogs on Independence of Seas and Several vlogs on Castaway Cay. Independence of the seas also has Ice Skating. Thanks for watching! 😎 I'm sure you will enjoy whatever cruise you decide on!
I went on the MSC Meraviglia for an 8 day free/comped cruise. Food was subpar, service was bad, music was lame. They didn't even allow you to enjoy a drink in the pool or at the theater (ridiculous). MSC isn't for me, not even for free.
Do you know what cruise lines don't allow beverages in the theaters? Very curious to know because i definitely like to relax with a beverages during the entertainment! 😎 Thank you for watching!
I took the Meraviglia for the 11 day repositioning cruise from Port Canaveral to Brooklyn NY.. April 9th thru 20th. Beautiful Ship. Staff very friendly. However, there were 3 things that I didn’t care for that I put in an email feedback.. after I completed my cruise.
I agree with the beautiful ship and staff. MSC needs some improvements for sure. I think there is a reason certain cruise lines get return customers. It's the over all experience and value! We are heading back on Royal Caribbean this weekend. Can't wait to share our adventures! Thank you for watching! 😎
Everyone says they have a low price. The low price is for a reason. Everyone also says the ships are beautiful. Most people say the staterooms are really good. How is the storage space in the stateroom? Storage space is small. Don't like mini bars. Only have one or two glasses of wine and/or beer. No outlets are bad. Daily planner on paper is good, but, other cruise lines have that too. Not a pool person. Since my wife passed away will not go to the pool. No one to keep an eye on my things. Service, have heard, on other videos, that MSC service is substandard. Food could be a craps shoot. So far the best pizza on a cruise ship is Princess Cruise Line. Lines at bars. On other cruise lines they have waiters coming around to ask if you want a drink. Spending a lot of time waiting on lines is not something I would want to do. Sounds like they are as bad as RCCL as far as getting a drink in the MDR. I have certain dietary needs. I want you to be honest. No room service? Theater is where other cruise lines sell beverages. They run a variation of the same show. Don't like having to reserve in advance. Do they have waiters in the casino? NCL and RCCL have beautiful island also. But, the food wasn't good. Sounds like you get nickel and dimed. Won't sail on RCCL again. I'll stick with Carnival Corp lines. Went on one NCL cruise. Never again. They have beautiful ships, service isn't good, food isn't good. Employees are really rude. Casino isn't good. Some shows are okay. NCL buffet is not open 24-hours, they do have a 24-hour restaurant, but, my wife and I did not enjoy it. Another cruise line will not go on again. Sounds like they have a lot of work to do.
@@MedlingWorld Having beautiful looking ships doesn't mean that much if you can't provide good service. NCL has beautiful looking ships. My late wife really liked their ships. However, if you are unable to provide a good service what good is the beautiful ship?
The aqua park requirement doesn't make sense. My son has autism and is 9 years, 5 ft 1 old but his cognitive level is that of 5 year old. So is MSC looking for maturity level of a child because that ain't happening.

No you can not on MSC. They don't even allow you to bring water. Great question! Thank you for watching 😎!
I bring my own portable water bottle. Ship water is all filtered.
Yuck
We unfortunately did not get to eat on the island buffet because the lines were over an hour long. We did try the food truck. 😎
All ships are still under staff.
Can you go on the outside on any other floors besides the upper levels?
Great question! I didn't notice but there must be an outdoor promenade on one of the decks. I would assume because you would need access to the lifeboats. I will have to research this. Thank you for watching 😎!
Thank you, great video and very helpful. I'll be going in July from New York.
I am canceling my msc cruise 😮
I don't blame you! 😎
Im really thinking about this cruise with my 5 year old son :( I wonder if I should or not
@@amzrkwcz From what a few people have told me the MSC Seashore is a much better ship and better service.
Thank you for sharing this information and for watching ! 😎
The price is so low ... you are basically paying a la carte.. thats how I see it. .TY for your videos!!!
You are welcome! 😎
Several cruise lines are not allowing drinks and food into the show lounge.
Do you know what cruise lines don't allow beverages in the theaters? Very curious to know because i definitely like to relax with a beverages during the entertainment! 😎 Thank you for watching!
Yacht club. Try it.
Will at some point hopefully 😎
@@MedlingWorld I know its costly but it might get rid of the problems.
Go on a msc 7 day cruise service much better, we did a 7 and 4 back to back. The 7 day cruise was way better. Especially bars and dinning room.
Rip away! I was just on this ship last week. Worst cruise ever!
Glad you enjoyed our review! Hoping we both have better cruises soon! Thank you for watching! 😎
I want to do the 20 day. But nobody wants to join me. 😂😂
Solo !
I agree that MSC definitely needs to improve service issues. They have great potential because the ships are so beautiful. 😎
