A team of scientist and myself worked diligently in a lab for several years coming up with this method. I hope you like it!

"Your muscle-memory is always watching." Insightful as hell, man! That's a great way to look at it!

Thank you, it's taken me forever to get this lesson through my head. Thought it'd help other folks out.

Great video man. I have started from scratch recently too. When I was in vocational school I played a lot, this was in -11 to 14. I got somewhat good too, but I started to get some health problems after that and my guitar game went to almost zero. So when I started to play more at the start of 2021 I was pretty terrible, and I was never great even before that. I will definitely try this out, thanks!

Glad I could help, and best of luck! I think this method will get you were you want to go much faster then doing a typical practice regime.

Glad you busted the myth "the older you become the slower the progress is". For youth side I'd say it's probably the biggest passion and fire but i wouldn't say it always work that way. As long as you don't burn out you can rock even being +100 years old. I was watching some SamuraiGuitarist video about his 1 month exercising journey and that proves the consitency is the thing and key to success. Of course, after first 2 weeks or so he progress rate significantly dropped but still improved his speed and accuracy. I dunno why it works like that but looking at the progression system like leveling up in rpg video games makes sense in real life.
Fun fact: Dave Lombardo haven't used metronome, the albums and bands he listened to metronomed him. Or Dimebag - he hated boring repeatable exercises, instead he kept learning new more difficult songs and techniques. Learn by doing. Or on his warm-ups he said something like: just pour a shot of whiskey and play straight from your heart. Currently I'm reading Black Tooth Grin: The High Life, Good Times, and Tragic End of "Dimebag" Darrell Abbott - written by some Pantera hardcore critique. That book's controversial and Dime's family hadn't authorized it.

Nice man, Dimebag knew what was up. I think each guitarist has to find their own path to take when practicing. It still boggles my mind how both Eddie and Dime could become so technically godlike purely by learning off of records. I feel like maybe they were just naturally good with their hands and ears. Thinking of it like an RPG really helps, honestly I think next to story and characters, the grinding in those games is something I truly still love to do, there's nothing better then leveling up.

Someone said Dime's stuff ain't really that hard to play but it's more like his dynamics and precision, literally choking the guitar and squeezing out the finest juice. So when I showed the Cowboys From Hell video from Ozzfest to my jazz teacher he wasn't really impressed and started showing me all that solo legato. He played it at hoc pretty well considering probably he'd heard it for the 1st time but there's wasn't much power.
Just imagine jazz strength and style dude playing Pantera. Not that they can't play metal but it's the different feeling and tone. Jeff Young (ex Megadeth guitarist) was a jazz guitar teacher and Dave Mustaine had to teach him playing metal from scratch lol
