would it not just be easier to run it through the fire wall and then down rather than cutting the shifter boot? I'm trying to trim as minimal amount of interior. I understand placing the switch, but how long is the wire? cause i might just run it through the firewall.
@@rileyjones7046 the little grommet by the driver side allows for the wires to go in and then just plug it into the coverts lighter. Thats what I did. Works like a charm. I’ve had mine this way for about 2 years. Also the screw that hold the door on the motor is horrible replace it and put some lock tight on it. Once I did that, I had 0 issues.
Jake Andrews if it’s an BRZ FRS or GT86 then the size is 2.25 but Iv just bought a 2.5 inch so I can have it slide over then weld it on. Installing it next weekend.
I installed mine and it’s a snug fit if you get a 2.5 works really well, careful on curbs and speed bumps tho I banged mine off second day I had it because I forgot about it but the installed it again and it’s all good. drones a hell off a lot on the motorway and sounds a bit tinny when closed if you have your window open.

They said she was under the car less then 2 minutes with the battery powered sawzall and the cat was off the cars. Luckily she was caught, so I hope she is enjoying some government paid vacation somewhere. She supposedly cut over 300 converters monthly !
What size is the diameter of the pipe on the car? I have a 2.25” diameter exhaust and I am wondering if I should get the 2.25” cutout or the 2.5 so it can slide over. Which did u do? Thanks

Shouldn't it be facing the other way as exhaust flows you want it to exit freely, not backwards toward the front of the car?
takchur1 the cats on the brz,86, and frs are towards the front. So basically it is facing towards the back, following the flow

I'm new to the brz but my 17 has a cig lighter on the glove compartment, wouldn't it be cleaner to route it there?

Bikelife Kevin I would use a 2.5 so it can slide over. You will just have to weld a little gap but that's no problem.

Hella welded it on backwards lol. Now the dump pipe is facing the front of the car instead of towards the rear. Live and you learn I guess
