    Of course I was calculating a little wrong with the grains GPP. It´s of course more like 9,8 or 9,9 GPP, with a 405 grain arrow and 41 pounds at 28 inches. Thank you for watching

    Thank you for this video!!! Fiberglass maple vs carbon foam limbs seems the carbon limbs are 5 to 8 feet per second faster with a standard curve in a recurve limbs. I think your carbon foam bosen longbow limbs shoot pretty fast at 180 fps. When you think how fast a deer can drop and duk the arrow I wonder if a faster limb can help? Thanks again!!!

      @peterjuulsgaard  Месяц назад +3

      The difference in limbs will never work for deer drop. Deer still drops at a 280 fps compound. And you can do the math at 40 feet distance with a tradbow between a 170 fps vs. 180 fps. How long does it take the arrow to reach 40 feet? At 170 fps its 0,24 second and at 180 fps it’s 0,22 second. So you want me to believe that the 0,02 second will make a difference. (2 hundreds of a sec.) thats not gonna happen, sorry.
      Shot distance is the only way to prevent deer is dropping and of course reading the deer, during the hunt/shot. Thanks for watching

      Have you noticed the difference if you gap shoot from a faster limb to a slower limb? For me a slower limb my arrow can drop four inches more at 30 yards compared to a faster limb. I have most of my bows 25 yards point on. 20 yards 4 inches high and 30 yards 4 inches low. But some limbs are 8 inches low at 30 yards. I really like your knowledge with trad bows and appreciate your years of experience.

    • @peterjuulsgaard
      @peterjuulsgaard  Месяц назад +1

      @bradlauber9097 well of course the further out you get the more the slower arrow will drop. But that’s only with the same arrow. I have my point on around 30 and when I shoot slower designed bows, the arrow are a little lighter, so point on still is 30. If I shoot a super fast super recurve, the arrows are very heavy so the point on still is 30. Every arrowveight from 450 grain and up will kill a deer. And every time we change bow or limbs we need another arrow anyway. That’s the way I look at it. Same speed all the time and using the arrow weight to tune in the point on. You see?

    Peter, have you hunted with arrows this light? Do you know what the FOC is for this arrow setup? That price seems like a heck of a deal for a take down recurve that appears to be good quality.

    • @peterjuulsgaard
      @peterjuulsgaard  Месяц назад +2

      Well the reason I’m using 400 grain arrows here is because the bow is 40 pounds. If the bow was 50 pounds I would test with 500 grain arrows, and we would see the same speed. 10 gpp is for testing and comparing in my book. I would shoot this bow with 450 to 500 grain arrow for hunting. The FOC is not high here, cause the arrow is asembled for the speed test only. Yes there is alot of bow for the money

    Hi peter,is it better to keep the bow straight to have reference string or inclined?

    • @peterjuulsgaard

      That depends on what you prefer. I dont use string for any reference. But I know that some folks do

      Which two bows? I dont compare this bow to another bow in any video. I just test with 10 gpp at 28” with every bow. This one shoots 178 fps.

      @alexyatsyuk70 Месяц назад

      @@peterjuulsgaard no, i mean before, you have had a comparison of the faster and slower bow up to 30 m range in fps showing that there was no particular difference in speed
