What a wonderful description of days gone by! Great research on your part. I usually check for the accuracy of documentations, and yours was spot on. This presentation made me appreciate even more the hard work and dedication of our parents, grandparents, and great-grandparents, who worked their way to middle and upper-class--in spite of formidable circumstances; and were not totally dependent on government subsidies. Thanks!

2:47- 2:50 I learned the reason alot of our ancestors used initials in their names was because white people would belittle or give them derogatory nick names. To keep them from giving them that opportunity to belittle their name, alot if black men would only go by their intials which is what youll see alot on the census doing family resarch.
