OMG, who puts enough chlorine in a pool at one time to last a week? Unless I am missing something, that's what you folks were stating. That's what erosion feeders and salt water generators are for. To add chlorine at rate so there is a reasonable amount in the pool at all times. You don't start out with 20ppm and then hope by the end of the week you have 1ppm. I add chlorine daily because I am retired and I can check it daily. I start with 4ppm every morning and by the next morning it is between 1 and 3.2 depending on use and if the pool is covered. Correct me if I'm wrong. P.S. Erosion feeders nor SWG do what they are promoted as doing. You still have to check your chlorine levels everyday if your smart. Otherwise in times of low usage you'll end up building unsafe amounts of chlorine and in times of heavy loads, high usage, you'll run short of chlorine and you water and your swimmers will not be protected.

Unfortunately a majority of pools are shocked once a week only. Yes erosion feeders can help too, as long as they’re not overused. This episode is speaking to service pros primarily who visit once a week.

so how do we keep the chlorine levels higher for longer in your experience? I keep a CYA level of 15 ppm

We supplement chlorine and remove nonliving organics with CV-600 or CV-700 enzymes. We also supplement with phosphate remover to reduce different types of chlorine demands

@OrendaTechnologies how often do you used those products for a standard 20,000 g in ground pool

@@anth115 orrrr, test it daily preferably and adjust your chlorine feeder or SWG. You should not be swimming in a pool with high levels of chlorine.
