shes very versatile and one of the most skilled singers in live performances. there is one performance of hers that still leaves me awestruck. it was the 1997 oscars and natalie cole was suppose to perform "ive finally found someone" but unfortunately she to bow out because of the flu. celine stepped up with less than a days notice and practice and she did it perfectly. you could see that she didnt memorize the entire songs lyrics and there are times when she missed some words, but you would never know if you dont know the song.
This takes me out. Seriously...the emotions, the pace, the projection of her voice, the power, the resonance...just, a SUBLIME performance. Thanks for reacting to this.♥

You should check out one of her earlier french songs "Pour que tu m'aimes encore" - there are a couple live performances floating around, really good. Her "D'eax" album was great.
I would bet money and put her right up against Whitney Houston in her prime and I bet she could keep up.

Omg this is one of my top 10 favourite live performances from Celine. It was on my long list of songs to request. She starts off so tender, a bit of a mixed voice and her power she unleashes at various points os ferocious and also beautiful. She was extremely emotive as she sung it at a relatives funeral I believe. Amazing!!!!!

This was my daddy’s favourite song ,he made sure we played it at his funeral and there wasn’t a dry eye . Listening to celine sing is ,it’s softer . I adore her and frank was wonderful and no one could touch him and this is why celine singing it it’s a softness that I love ❤️

I'll be honest I think they all have strong vibrato. They couldn't really show it like Whitney though cuz Whitney did it like that first. They wouldve just been accused of copying. Let's be honest she stood on stage with Aretha but Aretha was in her 60s or 70s? She was in her 20s. Celine killed this though and belongs in the trinity. I think Mariah has the most musicality? Is that the word? There are just so many songs Mariah has without the whistle note that I don't see Celine or even Whitney being able to pull off. I don't see either being able to do underneath the stars, fantasy, breakdown or anything like that. The thing with Celine that stops me from just saying she is the absolute best in the trinity is sometimes the tone of her voice. It was beautiful here but In other songs Whitney or Mariah have a tone of voice in their prime that I like better.its herd for me not to feel like even in this so g if Whitney had covered this the exact same way note for note in her prime it would've sounded even better. Same with Mariah. The soft notes in this if Mariah had done in the same tone she sang forever in. It wouldve sounded better. It's hard not to think that

I’m a Lamb for life but I would give the crown of the most skilled on a technical level to Whitney. They all have my heart tho.
Whitney has the most beautiful tone. Celine has got the most skills.. Nick is right. There are things that she could do that I never heard nor can imagine Whitney and Mariah doing. Mariah has the best range and can do the whistle. She also is very good at arranging her runs.
She is amazing and "technically the most skilled" ... but it is better to hear without seeing her because she is too "theatrical" . We loose the emotion because of exaggeration and funny faces... 🙂

I find her very touching and emotional singer. She has always sung with her whole heart. I think it’s stupid to try to complain about somebody, not being an emotional singer, when everyone is different in terms of what touches them, and what doesn’t. Tell me a better phrase would be you saying that “she doesn’t touch me“ instead of “she’s not an emotional singer.
