@@antonmothes3160 If you saw the 1s MJ played in they were shorter than the highs that were sold retail. They are called OG because its the orignal version that were sold. Mids were not sold back then it was just aj1 highs and AJKOs.
I was lookin close at them in the last dance documentary. They are mids that look high because of the way he wears his socks and the unique design. Also, I saw a review of some game worn AJ1s they look different to regular mids they don't have the height though.

Same love highs but the mids just like more like a sneaker or more fashionable to me but the colorways always turned me off and the materials felt ridged but these look great and I got one and they are so comfortable

I got these straight up because of the colorway. I'd never purchase any mids before but was bummed that I missed out on the 1's released for all-star weekend, so when these came out I didn't hesitate. The quality is sub-par FOR SURE, but the affordability makes up for it. I also don't feel bad about making these daily kicks. I've been wearing mine since the day I got them and they feel more comfortable every day. Definitely didn't think they were gonna sell out but I'm not surprised because as far as I can tell, everyone thinks these are the best mids ever. And I would have to agree. Like someone else said, glad the hypebeasts still hate mids so I didn't have to fight any bots to get these.

Oyedotun Onabanjo he’s not just talking about the tag on the tongue the actual tongue is different on mids way thinner and cheaper and taller it we want it to have aa thicker lower cut tongue more similar to the highs I think that would improve the mids greatly

You should do a sole swap and transplant it onto something with a zoom strobel. Make the all time traction with the all time cushion. Something like the KD 13 with a Jordan 1 outsole

I have j1 mid and high, and you can tell the difference when wearing them, the softness of the leather in a high j1 is way better than the mid. You have to break in the mid, it's stiff as hell, I have to break it in for a long time, now it's worn out but feels better. Thing is, i really like the mids than the high, oh well, hopefully they will make better quality in mids even if they bump the price a bit.

He has a whole video talking about how Genuine is actually the lowest grade of leather (and a clever marketing scheme). Also, he cut a jordan 1 in half to check the leather quality lol.
He recently spit apart the shattered backboard, and revealed that its just okay leather. Much to the hypebeast propping it up as the standard for "good leather in jordans".
I saw that vid as well, was definitely surprised. I like to think Nike used better materials back in the 80s and 90s since demand wasnt as high as today and probably not as expensive. I know they have gotten cheap some where along the line with materials even with Jordan 1 OGs.

2019 was a great year for mids. I personally love the maison chateau rouge and blue the greats. The quality was top notch and mids really do give you more range of motion and comfort than most highs. People love to throw shade at mids without even knowing why they dislike them 🤷🏼♂️
