Federal office or any governmental public office was not intended to be a career, but rather a period of public service. You are elected or appointed, serve a number of years and then return to the private sector. Making a career of politics is one of the reasons for the corruption, bloat and waste. Public office for most removes you from the people and creates the bubble or echo chamber which makes most politicians less and less responsive to their constituencies.

Romans preferred to have regional governors who were already incredibly wealthy.
"If you elect a poor governor, he is going to make himself rich at the cost of his region. The already rich does not need to."
It doesn't say that a rich ruler can't bleed the country dry. What it does say is that a poor ruler more or less has to.

Once politicians understand that most of Americans don’t really “ Identify “ with one party or another. Most people are just trying to get through the day,” day by day “ they are only paying attention to the most important things to them, which currently is the border and the inflation and the safety of the American people. This really isn’t rocket science. People just want the truth, they want safety, they want to be able to afford to live, not to just survive ( which unfortunately most are doing just that, right now ) I wonder how many people currently live under the poverty line and I wonder how many people are left …

They hate that Jared Kushner (Ivanka's husband) got a venture fund going with money he received from a Saudi Arabia investment fund. BUT that was after he left the Trump admin. A guy like him who traveled the Middle East all the time will obviously get to know people and make contacts. That is to be expected. Nothing wrong with it, once a person is OUT of government.

Over 5% loss since Trump announced his North American tariff plan. Government is an organization and a complicated one at that. It has taken on responsibilities I believe were never envisioned or intended by our Founding Fathers. They envisioned a LIMITED federal government (to provide for the common defense) with most power and responsibility REMAINING in the states or the people.
However, over time the search for solutions to problems not solved or solvable at the local level “migrated” upwards to the federal government, which couldn’t resist their opportunity for increasing power.
Therefore, it does make sense for people with PROVED ABILITY of ORGANIZATION, LEADERSHIP, SOLVING problems and CREATING real wealth (NOT primarily “grifters” (motivated by personal gain)) would best be suited for these roles.
I think it is also accurate to observe that (more often than not, there may be exceptions) the best Presidents were former governors.
