Shin Godzilla (2016, not 2018) was great. Shin Godzilla was also claimed at 15 million dollar budget. Loved it. I own it. However, Godzilla Minus One blew me away! This is by far the BEST MOVIE OF THE YEAR! WOW! I cannot wait to see it again soon!

Somehow it’s 4 separate movies while being a Godzilla movie.
    Jurassic Park
    Jaws
    Hurt Locker
    Dunkirk
    It was so so good.

I’ve watched Godzilla movies since I was a kid. This movie reminded me of my giant monster nightmares. It was actually pretty scary.

I absolutely loved this movie. I haven't been so emotional and excited, so blown away by the story, the caricatures, the music, everything is just perfect!! Oh and Godzilla genuinely scary and utterly brilliant and is the best version above all of the past ones. I can't praise this one enough WOW!!😮😮❤❤

I saw Minus 1 Sunday. Great movie. No woke message. Men with flaws working together to save their country. Real men, real women, real friendships, real love and caring. These are the elements every movie should have.

It was the Andor of Godzilla movies.
Removed all the goofy stuff and took the subject dead serious and they absolutely nailed it.

Naaa Shin Godzilla was alot more like Andor. It even had the divisiveness of fans like Andor did.
This was like the Empire Strikes Back of Godzilla movies. It's undisputably one of the greatest if not the greatest godzilla films

@@zonzillamagnus5902 How about having to wait for the RIGHT Mechanic to fix the plane. Even though Godzilla could return at any time and kill thousands of people. That was pretty goofy.
Noriko miraculously survives a nuclear blast that seemingly kills everyone else.
Godzilla appearing to stand in deep water, arms raised, perfectly still, when he should have at least moved his tail to tread water. Or maybe Godzilla floats?

I agree. I seen my fill of Godzilla films from the 50s, 60s, 70s, 80s, 90s, to today and this is the best Godzilla film yet. Despite so many great films released this year like Barbie, Oppenheimer, and Spider-man Across The Spider-verse, this is my favorite film of the year. I wouldn't be surprised if the film gets nominated for Best International Film at the Oscars. If it does, I hope it wins.

When I was little I'd have nightmares of giant monsters. "Godzilla: Minus One" gave me that feeling of staring up at a giant monster, running in slow motion and hoping it doesn't notice me, and waking up in fear. The first sighting when the main character is in his plane and he's too scared to pull the trigger was all too real. You don't want to move at all otherwise the monster will find you.
Godzilla moves like a monitor lizard in the water which makes it elegant and terrifying. Watch a video of a giant monitor lizards attacking in the water and you'll know where the director got some his ideas.

Yeah, as a matter of fact, my fellow Japanese military/anime fans are super hyped with the weapons in the G-1.0, like Shinden, Yukikaze, Keyaki and Type 4 medium tanks (the tank’s getting bad reputations but actually kind of accurate).

FYI, the Shinden fighter was a real plane, and details around its role were historically correct in that only 2 were ever made. One was scrapped and only one remains, which in real life is in the National Air and Space museum in Washington D.C. But there is a replica in the Tachiarai Peace Museum in Fukuoka. It was also one of the first aircraft that had an ejection seat, a subject which was misrepresented in the movie. An ejection seat was necessary because of the push prop design.
