Hey guys I now have a buy me a coffee page so if you like my videos and want to show support for future projects you can donate as little as $1 here buymeacoffee.com/barrovianmade thank you so much for the support!
This is absolutely gorgeous!!! Beautiful work! And I think you’re the Bow-tie King of woodworking- I don’t think I’ve seen anyone else explain how to do them properly, much less show how to do them. Excellent video!
Thank you! Really appreciate it! I did lock myself away for a good night or two to practice inlays and bow ties trying different things to get the best fit up and came up with some helpful tips I’ve done in a other video that I think you’ve also seen! Thank for the lovely comment!
Thank you! Constantly thinking about how to make videos more entertaining and more engaging still got along way to go and there’s loads of areas I need to improve on but hopefully everything only gets better thanks for noticing and commenting makes me feel like I’m in the right direction!
Thank you every sub counts glad you enjoyed the video! And I do love a good bow ties currently trying to get my hands on the perfect slab for a future project so I can use bow ties to joint in i think it would be awesome
Thank you! I do love a bow tie but I know a lot of people hate the look of them I am planning on making a table similar to an epoxy table but with bow ties instead of epoxy I just need some cheap slabs
Glue Joint = Sufficient Strength, Baseline. (End-Grain butt joints dont count 😑) Nails are actually a more effective fastener in most cases - Stronger than screws, no pre-drilling, very forgiving, No special tools required, Not much setup, so on and so forth. Hammers are cordless. Well, they are, arent they 🤣 Screws can be used when clamps may not be suitable/available for whatever reason. They do not add strength (Weird tests dont count) Glue + Screws = Cheap & fast, (Unless poorly fitted), Metal & wood expand differently with temperature & moisture/humidity, Hence weaker over time. +Dowels = Excellent Strength, A bit of extra work, Actually quite satisfying if you make your own decent jig. +Dominos = Overkill, Expensive for 1-2 builds a year, Extra work.
Feel like I should make a video over a period of a few months maybe a year testing different methods and showing results on what joint and method is best in particular areas

Very nice table, and love the legs. The bow tie is sweet, very neat and tight 😊👍
Thank you! Practiced a lot to get better at bow ties
Excellent bow tie
Thank you! I used to be shocking at them but bit of practice and I’ve gotten a lot better at them
Great looking final table! Your channel deserves some traction so hope more people start watching-always a good video!

Great looking table. I'm with you my friend. I like bow ties, even on the show side. The more the colors contrast the better. Cheers.

@@barrovianmade Hey that's awesome. Hopefully there is a build video that follows. I've done something similar with a coffee table.
Really nice legs man 🤣 I'll need to try something like this at some point.
Thank you! The idea just came to me and I thought it would be too weak but it is surprisingly strong!
