I'm so old I remember in the 80s where the mantra was that we needed immigrants to pay for our pensions. I knew it was all cr@p back then, but honestly, I never envisioned our politicians to actually have our pensioners pay for immigrants to sit on their butts in 5 star hotels.
      Our leaders are literally insane.

I was living in the US for the past 25 years. I noticed that the Dem party was progressively moving in speech to put the immigrant ahead of the native citizen, then their talk seemed to put the illegal migrant ahead of both the legal immigrant and the natively born American. Finally,.their policies and talk became outward hatred to any native citizen.
As I watched this happen, I thought it was going to be a failed political strategy. How can a party win if it openly hated and worked against the interests of their own voters?
Well, it seems to be working and happening around the world....why it's working is baffling.

Stop this "net zero " nonsense, and re open our coal power stations, frack, stop importing energy. By creating our own energy. By the way wind turbines only last about 20 years, these huge creations are made from different materials which are fused together, making them impossible to recycle, what happens to that mass of material once they are past their use? We are using precious farmland to build ugly solar farms, we could invest in our farmers, grow more food, stop importing, eat locally and seasonally, that would save money.

The reality is that the poorest people in the UK are still incredibly wealthy on any kind of global scale and while being poor in a wealthy country can't be fun you aren't going to face the same challenges as (most of) the recipients of foreign aid.
Chances are most people in the UK are within the top 3-5% of global wealth and still get some benefits of our welfare state on top of that.
Yes it isn't right that nurses need to use food banks, but that isn't really the same as children dying from preventable illnesses and lack of clean water.
£1,000 goes extremely far for addressing problems for the bottom 5% of the world (even when used inefficiently), but not that far for the top 5%. Couple this with the fact that foreign aid is already a small part of the government budget it makes me question why is this the part that is for frequently looked to as a way to solve our problems. This amount wouldn't even make a dent in UK inequality so why does it seem to be the first thing people want to cut? (It is extremely good value for money.)
The fact that the top earners should support those less fortunate is almost universally accepted when talking domestically, but as soon as we broaden the lens it becomes extremely controversial. I assume I am not the only person who finds that shocking?

Tory-Starmer’s Pseudo-Labour Government is having to make EXTREMELY difficult economic decisions because of the trail of absolute destruction left behind by successive Tory governments since 2010; subsequently the country has very little money, public services need re-building, and funding, therefore this government’s decision to limit the Winter Fuel Allowance to those who need is the right policy; otherwise billions of pounds would be wasted on paying the Winter Fuel Allowance to privileged pensioners who live in the south where temperatures never drop below -2 Degrees. You told an outright LIE when you stated that the government will be denying 90% of pensioners the Winter Fuel Allowance. Lastly another outright lie you told is that the government wants pensioners who own their home to sell their homes so that the government can house asylum seekers, this too is another outright lie. It is blatantly obvious that you are an outright LIAR, who always resorts to deception to manipulate your gullible and brainless subscribers.
