I don't know, man, first the Celtics had a 21-pt 4th quarter lead, got rolled 2-20 and almost lost; now they just couldn't even get into the game so Mazulla had to take the boys out and get an ENTIRE QUARTER of garbage time to save'em from further embarrassment. They seem soft af if you consider how good the team is. If Dallas had woken up one game earlier this would still be a series.
even the best can have an off night. Mavs better bring it Monday or waddle back home after a short series. Cs in 5.

i would like to know how Luka went from terrible to great on defense in one game since that apparently is the reason the Celtics were up 3-0 in the first place

The Luka hate is always way way way over the top lol.
People claiming Luka just can't play defense are either ignorant or in plain bad faith. He has played really good defense on several ocasions throughout the playoffs this year, but he's injured and there's just so much you can do when you have such a huge offensive role -- thus he'll definitely not commit 100% all the time. Also, their scheme is based on funelling drives to the middle where the rim protectors come to help, which simply doesn't work with Boston because they have 30 guys that can shoot 3s, so it's drive-kick-swing and the whole Mavs defense looks stupid (but it's easier to hate on the guy who's better than your team's star, right?).
If he's provoked he might play 40 mins of good defense (although not all-nba defensive team level defense, of course) and stellar offense (especially once his knees and ankle heal completely), but that's not sustainable unless all other players show up big time on offense to share the load. Sports media is a cancer.
Refs had some no calls against DAL tonight, where BOS usually got FT’s, but tonight they were let go. It’s profitable for the NBA and BOS to get a Game 5, and I get why the NBA would give DAL one game.
@@sharkbaitcustoms6111 while there's quite some "massaging" in NBA results via refs, I don't think officiating can simply erase a team from the court.
It's the same story with people saying the Celtics just want to close out in front of their crowd. I can maybe go with the idea that sometimes a team is so much better that they choose to take the win back home in 5 instead of sweeping on the road, but you don't need to be down 48 and lose by 38 (4 less than all time biggest difference in NBA finals) fort that. It would be a totally unnecessary stain in your reputation as a championship team; if you're throwing, you lose by at most 10.
Plus, refereeing in first 3 games went Boston's way, so why not extrapolate and think they'll arrange it to go 7, then?

@@di114n2 Celtics faced this with the Heat & Cavs… one strong game by the opponent. They faced almost close out runs in the ECF more than once. I fully expect the Cs to come back tougher, highly focused… like the previous times.

No, they were legitimately trying the whole time to win until the middle of the 3rd. This was a close out game to win the finals in which they’ve already lost before. They don’t care about winning at home they just want to win the finals.
